Young`s Literal Translation

Matthew

6

1Tandremo mba tsy hanao ny asan'ny fahamarinanareo eo imason'ny olona hahitany izany; Fa raha tsy izany, dia tsy manana valim-pitia amin'ny Rainareo Izay any an-danitra ianareo.[Na: ny fiantrana]
1`Take heed your kindness not to do before men, to be seen by them, and if not — reward ye have not from your Father who [is] in the heavens;
2Koa amin'izany, raha manao fiantrana ianao, aza mba mitsoka trompetra eo aloanao tahaka ny fanaon'ny mpihatsaravelatsihy eo amin'ny synagoga sy eny an-dalambe mba hankalazan'ny olona azy. Lazaiko aminareo marina tokoa fa efa azony ny valim-pitiany.
2whenever, therefore, thou mayest do kindness, thou mayest not sound a trumpet before thee as the hypocrites do, in the synagogues, and in the streets, that they may have glory from men; verily I say to you — they have their reward!
3Fa ianao kosa, raha manao fiantrana, dia aoka tsy ho fantatry ny tananao ankavia izay ataon'ny tananao ankavanana,
3`But thou, doing kindness, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doth,
4mba hatao ao amin'ny mangingina ny fiantranao; ary ny Rainao, Izay mahita ao amin'ny mangingina, no hamaly anao.
4that thy kindness may be in secret, and thy Father who is seeing in secret Himself shall reward thee manifestly.
5Ary raha mivavaka ianareo, aza mba ho tahaka ny mpihatsaravelatsihy; Fa izy tia ny mivavaka mitsangana eo amin'ny synagoga sy eo an-joron-dalana hahitan'ny olona azy. Lazaiko aminareo marina tokoa fa efa azony ny valim-pitiany.
5`And when thou mayest pray, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites, because they love in the synagogues, and in the corners of the broad places — standing — to pray, that they may be seen of men; verily I say to you, that they have their reward.
6Fa ianao kosa, raha mivavaka, dia midìra ao amin'ny efi-tranonao, ka rehefa voarindrinao ny varavaranao, dia mivavaha amin'ny Rainao, Izay ao amin'ny mangingina; ary ny Rainao, Izay mahita ao amin'ny mangingina no hamaly anao.
6`But thou, when thou mayest pray, go into thy chamber, and having shut thy door, pray to thy Father who [is] in secret, and thy Father who is seeing in secret, shall reward thee manifestly.
7Ary raha mivavaka ianareo, dia aza mba manao teny maro foana tahaka ny jentilisa; Fa ataony ho ny hamaroan'ny teniny no hihainoana azy.
7`And — praying — ye may not use vain repetitions like the nations, for they think that in their much speaking they shall be heard,
8Koa aza manahaka azy ianareo; fa fantatry ny Rainareo izay tokony ho anareo, raha tsy mbola mangataka aminy aza ianareo.
8be ye not therefore like to them, for your Father doth know those things that ye have need of before your asking him;
9Koa amin'izany mivavaha toy izao ianareo: Rainay Izay any an-danitra, hohamasinina anie ny anaranao.
9thus therefore pray ye: `Our Father who [art] in the heavens! hallowed be Thy name.
10Ho tonga anie ny fanjakanao. Hatao anie ny sitraponao etỳ an-tany tahaka ny any an-danitra.
10`Thy reign come: Thy will come to pass, as in heaven also on the earth.
11Omeo anay anio izay hanina sahaza ho anay.
11`Our appointed bread give us to-day.
12Ary mamelà ny helokay tahaka ny namelanay izay meloka taminay. [Na: trosa] [Na:nitrosa]
12`And forgive us our debts, as also we forgive our debtors.
13Ary aza mitondra anay ho amin'ny fakam-panahy, fa manafaha anay amin'ny ratsy. [Na: amin'ilay] [ Ampio hoe: Fa Anao ny fanjakana sy ny hery ary ny voninahitra mandrakizay. Amena]
13`And mayest Thou not lead us to temptation, but deliver us from the evil, because Thine is the reign, and the power, and the glory — to the ages. Amen.
14Fa raha mamela ny fahadisoan'ny olona ianareo, dia mba hamela ny anareo kosa ny Rainareo Izay any an-danitra.
14`For, if ye may forgive men their trespasses He also will forgive you — your Father who [is] in the heavens;
15Fa raha tsy mamela ny fahadisoan'ny olona ianareo, dia tsy hamela ny fahadisoanareo ny Rainareo.
15but if ye may not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
16Ary raha mifady hanina ianareo, aza mety ho tahaka ny mpihatsaravelatsihy, izay malahelo tarehy; fa mampisotisoty ny tavany izy mba ho hitan'ny olona fa mifady. Lazaiko aminareo marina tokoa fa efa azony ny valim-pitiany.
16`And when ye may fast, be ye not as the hypocrites, of sour countenances, for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear to men fasting; verily I say to you, that they have their reward.
17Fa ianao kosa, raha mifady hanina, dia hosory ny lohanao, ary sasao ny tavanao,
17`But thou, fasting, anoint thy head, and wash thy face,
18mba tsy ho hitan'ny olona fa mifady, fa ho hitan'ny Rainao, Izay ao amin'ny mangingina; ary ny Rainao, Izay mahita ao amin'ny mangingina, no hamaly anao.
18that thou mayest not appear to men fasting, but to thy Father who [is] in secret, and thy Father, who is seeing in secret, shall reward thee manifestly.
19Aza mihary harena ho anareo eto an-tany, izay misy kalalao sy harafesina manimba, sady misy mpangalatra manami-trano sy mangalatra.
19`Treasure not up to yourselves treasures on the earth, where moth and rust disfigure, and where thieves break through and steal,
20Fa miharia harena ho anareo any an-danitra, izay tsy misy kalalao na harafesina manimba, sady tsy misy mpangalatra manamitrano na mangalatra.
20but treasure up to yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth disfigure, and where thieves do not break through nor steal,
21Fa izay itoeran'ny harenao, dia ho any koa ny fonao.
21for where your treasure is, there will be also your heart.
22Ny maso no jiron'ny tena; koa amin'izany, raha tsara ny masonao, dia hazava avokoa ny tenanao rehetra.
22`The lamp of the body is the eye, if, therefore, thine eye may be perfect, all thy body shall be enlightened,
23Fa raha ratsy ny masonao, dia ho maizina avokoa ny tenanao rehetra; koa raha maizina ny fahazavana ao anatinao, manao ahoana ny halehiben'izany fahamaizinana izany!
23but if thine eye may be evil, all thy body shall be dark; if, therefore, the light that [is] in thee is darkness — the darkness, how great!
24Tsy misy olona mahay manompo tompo roa; fa ny anankiray ho halany, ary ny anankiray ho tiany; na ny anankiray hombany, ary ny anankiray hohamavoiny. Tsy mahay manompo an'Andriamanitra sy Mamôna ianareo.[Mamôna = harena]
24`None is able to serve two lords, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will hold to the one, and despise the other; ye are not able to serve God and Mammon.
25Ary noho izany dia lazaiko aminareo hoe: Aza manahy ny amin'ny ainareo, dia izay hohaninareo na izay hosotroinareo, na ny amin'ny tenanareo, dia izay hotafinareo. Moa ny aina tsy mihoatra noho ny hanina va, ary ny tena noho ny fitafiana?
25`Because of this I say to you, be not anxious for your life, what ye may eat, and what ye may drink, nor for your body, what ye may put on. Is not the life more than the nourishment, and the body than the clothing?
26Tsinjovy ny voro-manidina, fa tsy mba mamafy, na mijinja, na mitaona ho any an-tsompitra ireny; ary ny Rainareo Izay any an-danitra mamelona azy. Moa tsy mihoatra lavitra noho ireny va ianareo?
26look to the fowls of the heaven, for they do not sow, nor reap, nor gather into storehouses, and your heavenly Father doth nourish them; are not ye much better than they?
27Ary iza ao aminareo, na dia manahy aza, no mahay manampy ny andro hiainany na dia kely monja aza? [ Na: Ny halavan'ny tenany] [ Gr. Hakiho iray]
27`And who of you, being anxious, is able to add to his age one cubit?
28Ary nahoana no manahy ny amin'ny fitafiana ianareo? Diniho tsara ny fanirin'ny voninkazo any an-tsaha; tsy mba miasa na mamoly ireny;[Karazan'ny lilia]
28and about clothing why are ye anxious? consider well the lilies of the field; how do they grow? they do not labour, nor do they spin;
29nefa lazaiko aminareo fa na dia Solomona tao amin'ny voninahiny rehetra aza tsy mba nitafy tahaka ny anankiray amin'ireny.
29and I say to you, that not even Solomon in all his glory was arrayed as one of these.
30Ary raha ny ahitra any an-tsaha, izay any ihany anio ka hatsipy ao am-patana rahampitso, no ampitafin'Andriamanitra toy izany, tsy mainka va ianareo, ry kely finoana?
30`And if the herb of the field, that to-day is, and to-morrow is cast to the furnace, God doth so clothe — not much more you, O ye of little faith?
31Dia aza manahy ianareo ka manao hoe: Inona no hohaninay? na: Inona no hosotroinay? na: Inona no hotafinay?
31therefore ye may not be anxious, saying, What may we eat? or, What may we drink? or, What may we put round?
32Fa izany rehetra izany dia katsahin'ny jentilisa fatratra; fa fantatry ny Rainareo Izay any an-danitra fa tokony ho anareo izany rehetra izany.
32for all these do the nations seek for, for your heavenly Father doth know that ye have need of all these;
33Fa katsaho aloha ny fanjakany sy ny fahamarinany, dia hanampy ho anareo izany rehetra izany.Ary amin'izany dia aza manahy ny amin'ny ampitso ianareo; fa ny ampitso hanahy ny azy. Ampy ho an'ny andro ny ratsy miseho ao aminy.
33but seek ye first the reign of God and His righteousness, and all these shall be added to you.
34Ary amin'izany dia aza manahy ny amin'ny ampitso ianareo; fa ny ampitso hanahy ny azy. Ampy ho an'ny andro ny ratsy miseho ao aminy.
34Be not therefore anxious for the morrow, for the morrow shall be anxious for its own things; sufficient for the day [is] the evil of it.
