¹[Ny faharatsian'ny Isiraely, sy ny hanjo azy, ary ny hibebahany, sy ny hamindran'Andriamanitra fo aminy] Lozako! fa efa tonga toy ny fiotazam-boankazo aho Sy toy ny fitsimponam-boaloboka, Tsy misy salohy hohanina, Na aviavy mialin-taona, izay irin'ny fanahiko,

¹My wo [is] to me, for I have been As gatherings of summer-fruit, As gleanings of harvest, There is no cluster to eat, The first-ripe fruit desired hath my soul.

²Lany tsy misy amin'ny tany intsony ny tsara fanahy; Eny, tsy misy olo-marina ao amin'ny olombelona; Samy manotrika handatsa-drà avokoa izy, Eny, mihaza ny rahalahiny amin'ny harato izy rehetra.

²Perished hath the kind out of the land, And upright among men — there are none, All of them for blood lie in wait, Each his brother they hunt [with] a net.

³Vonona hanao ratsy ny tànany; Mila ny mpanapaka, Azon-kolikoly ny mpitsara, Ary ny lehibe milaza ny fitsiriritan'ny fanahiny, Koa izany no entiny mandrarirary azy.

³On the evil [are] both hands to do [it] well, The prince is asking — also the judge — for recompence, And the great — he is speaking the mischief of his soul, And they wrap it up.

⁴Na dia ny tsara indrindra ao aminy aza dia toy ny roy, Ary na dia ny mahitsy indrindra ao aminy aza dia ratsy noho ny fefy tsilo; Avy ny andron'ny tilinao, izay hamaliana anao; Amin'izany dia vao ho very hevitra ianao.[Heb. izy]

⁴Their best one [is] as a brier, The upright one — than a thorn-hedge, The day of thy watchmen — Thy visitation — hath come. Now is their perplexity.

⁵Aza matoky namana ianareo, Aza mahazo am-po izay sakaiza mahazatra; Fa ambeno ny varavaran'ny vavanao na dia amin'izay andefimandrinao aza.

⁵Believe not in a friend, trust not in a leader, From her who is lying in thy bosom keep the openings of thy mouth.

⁶Fa ny zanakalahy manamavo ny rainy, Ny zanakavavy mitsangan-kanohitra ny reniny, Ary ny vinantovavy hanohitra ny rafozani-vavy; Ary ny ankohonan'ny olona ihany no fahavalony.

⁶For a son is dishonouring a father, A daughter hath stood against her mother, A daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law, The enemies of each [are] the men of his house.

⁷Fa izaho kosa dia hanandrandra an'i Jehovah, Eny, hiandry an'Andriamanitry ny famonjena ahy aho; Andriamanitro no hihaino ahy.

⁷And I — in Jehovah I do watch, I do wait for the God of my salvation, Hear me doth my God.

⁸Aza mifaly ahy, ry fahavaloko, Fa na dia lavo aza aho, mbola hiarina ihany; Raha mitoetra ao amin'ny maizina aho, Dia Jehovah no fahazavana ho ahy.

⁸Thou dost not rejoice over me, O mine enemy, When I have fallen, I have risen, When I sit in darkness Jehovah is a light to me.

⁹Ny fahatezeran'i Jehovah dia hiaretako ihany, Fa efa nanota taminy aho, Ambara-pandahany ny teniko Sy hanomezany rariny ho ahy; Hamoaka ahy ho amin'ny mazava Izy, Ka ho faly aho mahita ny fahamarinany.

⁹The indignation of Jehovah I do bear, For I have sinned against Him, Till that He doth plead my cause, And hath executed my judgment, He doth bring me forth to the light, I look on His righteousness.

¹⁰Dia hahita izany ilay fahavaloko ka hosaronan-kenatra, Dia ilay nanao tamiko hoe: Aiza Izay Jehovah Andriamanitrao? Ho faly mahita azy ny masoko; Ankehitriny dia ho fanitsakitsaka toy ny fotaka eny an-dalambe izy.

¹⁰And see doth mine enemy, And cover her doth shame, Who saith unto me, `Where [is] Jehovah thy God?` Mine eyes do look on her, Now she is for a treading-place, As mire of the out-places.

¹¹The day to build thy walls! That day — removed is the limit.

¹²That day — even unto thee it doth come in, From Asshur and the cities of the fortress, And from the fortress even unto the river, And from sea to sea, and mount to mount.

¹⁴Rule Thou Thy people with Thy rod, The flock of Thine inheritance, Dwelling alone [in] a forest in the midst of Carmel, They enjoy Bashan and Gilead as in days of old.

¹⁵Toy ny tamin'ny andro nivoahanao avy tany amin'ny tany Egypta No hanehoako azy zava-mahagaga.

¹⁵According to the days of thy coming forth out of the land of Egypt, I do shew it wonderful things.

¹⁶Hahita izany ny jentilisa, Ka hahamenatra azy ny heriny rehetra; Hitampim-bava izy, Ho tonga marenina ny sofiny.

¹⁶See do nations, and they are ashamed of all their might, They lay a hand on the mouth, their ears are deaf.

¹⁷Hilelaka ny vovoka toy ny menarana izy; Hiala amin-kovitra avy ao amin'ny fiarovany mafy tahaka ny biby mikisaka amin'ny tany izy; Jehovah Andriamanitsika dia hohatoniny amin-kovitra, Eny, hatahotra Anao izy.

¹⁷They lick dust as a serpent, as fearful things of earth, They tremble from their enclosures, Of Jehovah our God they are afraid, Yea, they are afraid of Thee.

¹⁸Iza no Andriamanitra tahaka Anao, Izay mamela heloka Sady mandalo ny fahadisoan'ny sisa amin'ny lovany? Tsy mitana ny fahatezerany ho mandrakizay Izy, Fa tia famindram-po.

¹⁸Who [is] a God like Thee? taking away iniquity, And passing by the transgression of the remnant of His inheritance, He hath not retained for ever His anger, Because He — He delighteth [in] kindness.

¹⁹Hamindra fo amintsika indray Izy Ka hanitsakitsaka ny fahotantsika, Eny, harianao ho any amin'ny ranomasina lalina ny fahotany rehetra.Hanefa fahamarinana ho an'i Jakoba Hianao Sy famindram-po ho an'i Abrahama, Dia ilay nianiananao tamin'ny razanay hatramin'ny andro taloha ela.

¹⁹He doth turn back, He pitieth us, He doth subdue our iniquities, And Thou castest into the depths of the sea all their sins.

²⁰Hanefa fahamarinana ho an'i Jakoba Hianao Sy famindram-po ho an'i Abrahama, Dia ilay nianiananao tamin'ny razanay hatramin'ny andro taloha ela.

²⁰Thou givest truth to Jacob, kindness to Abraham, That thou hast sworn to our fathers, from the days of antiquity!
