³To do righteousness and judgment, Is chosen of Jehovah rather than sacrifice.

⁴Ny fiandranandran'ny maso sy ny fiavonavon'ny fo Izay jiron'ny ratsy fanahy dia ota.[Na: asan']

⁴Loftiness of eyes, and breadth of heart, Tillage of the wicked [is] sin.

⁵Ny hevitry ny mazoto dia mampanan-karena; Fa ny maimaika rehetra dia halahelo ihany.

⁵The purposes of the diligent [are] only to advantage, And of every hasty one, only to want.

⁶Ny fahazoan-karena amin'ny lela mandainga Dia fofonaina mihelina ho an'izay mitady fahafatesana.

⁶The making of treasures by a lying tongue, [Is] a vanity driven away of those seeking death.

⁷Ny fitohatohan'ny ratsy fanahy hamongotra azy, Satria mandà tsy hanao izay marina izy.

⁷The spoil of the wicked catcheth them, Because they have refused to do judgment.

⁸Miolikolika ny lalan'ny mavesa-keloka; Fa mahitsy ny ataon'ny madio.

⁸Froward [is] the way of a man who is vile, And the pure — upright [is] his work.

⁹Aleo mitoetra eo an-joron'ny tampon-trano Toy izay hiray trano amin'ny vehivavy tia ady.

⁹Better to sit on a corner of the roof, Than [with] a woman of contentions and a house of company.

¹⁰Ny fanahin'ny ratsy fanahy maniry ny ratsy, Ka na dia ny havany aza tsy mahita fitia eo imasony.

¹⁰The soul of the wicked hath desired evil, Not gracious in his eyes is his neighbour.

¹¹When the scorner is punished, the simple becometh wise, And in giving understanding to the wise He receiveth knowledge.

¹²Ny Iray Marina no mandinika ny tranon'ny ratsy fanahy Ka mamarina azy ho amin'ny loza.

¹²The Righteous One is acting wisely Towards the house of the wicked, He is overthrowing the wicked for wickedness.

¹³Izay manentsin-tadiny amin'ny fitarainan'ny malahelo, Dia mba hitaraina kosa izy, fa tsy hohenoina.

¹³Whoso is shutting his ear from the cry of the poor, He also doth cry, and is not answered.

¹⁴Ny fanomezana mangingina mampionona ny fahatezerana, Ary ny kolikoly amin'ny takona mampitsahatra ny fahavinirana mafy.

¹⁴A gift in secret pacifieth anger, And a bribe in the bosom strong fury.

¹⁵Fifalian'ny marina ny hanao araka ny rariny; Fa zava-mahatahotra ny mpanao ratsy kosa izany.

¹⁵To do justice [is] joy to the righteous, But ruin to workers of iniquity.

¹⁶Ny olona izay mivily miala amin'ny lalan'ny fahendrena Dia hitoetra ao amin'ny fivorian'ny fanahin'ny maty.

¹⁶A man who is wandering from the way of understanding, In an assembly of Rephaim resteth.

¹⁷Izay tia fanaranam-po dia olona halahelo, Eny, izay tia divay sy diloilo tsy mba hanan-karena.

¹⁷Whoso [is] loving mirth [is] a poor man, Whoso is loving wine and oil maketh no wealth.

¹⁸Ny ratsy fanahy dia ho avotry ny marina, Ary ny mpivadika ho solon'ny mahitsy.

¹⁸The wicked [is] an atonement for the righteous, And for the upright the treacherous dealer.

¹⁹Aleo mitoetra any an-efitra Toy izay amin'ny vehivavy tia ady sady foizina.

¹⁹Better to dwell in a wilderness land, Than [with] a woman of contentions and anger.

²⁰Harena mahafinaritra sy diloilo no ao amin'ny tranon'ny hendry; Fa ny adala mandany azy.

²⁰A treasure to be desired, and oil, [Is] in the habitation of the wise, And a foolish man swalloweth it up.

²¹Izay fatra-panaraka fahamarinana sy famindram-po Dia hahazo fiainana sy fahamarinana ary voninahitra.

²¹Whoso is pursuing righteousness and kindness, Findeth life, righteousness, and honour.

²²Ny hendry mananika ny vohitry ny mahery Ka mandrodana ny fiarovana mafy izay itokiany.

²²A city of the mighty hath the wise gone up, And bringeth down the strength of its confidence.

²³Izay miambina ny vavany sy ny lelany Dia miaro ny fanahiny tsy ho azom-pahoriana.

²³Whoso is keeping his mouth and his tongue, Is keeping from adversities his soul.

²⁴Izay mirehareha sy miavonavona no atao hoe mpaniratsira, Dia izay olona fatra-piavonavona.

²⁴Proud, haughty, scorner [is] his name, Who is working in the wrath of pride.

²⁵Ny fanirian'ny malaina hahafaty azy, Satria ny tànany tsy mety miasa tsinona;

²⁵The desire of the slothful slayeth him, For his hands have refused to work.

²⁶Maniry fatratra mandritra ny andro izy; Fa ny marina kosa manome ka tsy mba mahihitra.

²⁶All the day desiring he hath desired, And the righteous giveth and withholdeth not.

²⁷Ny fanatitry ny ratsy fanahy dia fahavetavetana, Ka indrindra raha amin'ny sain-dratsy no itondrany azy.

²⁷The sacrifice of the wicked [is] abomination, Much more when in wickedness he bringeth it.

²⁸Ho faty ny vavolombelona mandainga; Fa izay mihaino dia hiteny mandrakariva.

²⁸A false witness doth perish, And an attentive man for ever speaketh.

²⁹Ny ratsy fanahy mampiseho ny fahasahisahiany amin'ny tarehiny; Fa ny marina kosa dia mihevitra izay halehany.

²⁹A wicked man hath hardened by his face, And the upright — he prepareth his way.

³⁰Tsy misy fahendrena, na fahalalana, Na fisainana mahaleo an'i Jehovah.Voaomana ny soavaly ho amin'ny andro iadiana; Fa an'i Jehovah ihany ny fandresena.

³⁰There is no wisdom, nor understanding, Nor counsel, over-against Jehovah.

³¹Voaomana ny soavaly ho amin'ny andro iadiana; Fa an'i Jehovah ihany ny fandresena.

³¹A horse is prepared for a day of battle, And the deliverance [is] of Jehovah!
