¹The wicked have fled and there is no pursuer. And the righteous as a young lion is confident.

²Ny fahotan'ny tany mahamaro mpanapaka; Fa ny fisian'ny olona manan-tsaina kosa no mampahateza ny fanjakana. [Na: fikomian'][Na: manan-tsaina sady mahalala rariny][Na: Fa noho ny manan-tsaina no haharetan'ny fahamarinana]

²By the transgression of a land many [are] its heads. And by an intelligent man, Who knoweth right — it is prolonged.

³Ny malahelo izay mampahory ny mahantra Dia toy ny ranonorana izay manindao ka tsy maha-misy hanina.

³A man — poor and oppressing the weak, [Is] a sweeping rain, and there is no bread.

⁴Izay mahafoy ny lalàna dia mandoka ny ratsy fanahy; Fa izay mitandrina ny lalàna dia mirehitra amin'ny fanoherana azy.

⁴Those forsaking the law praise the wicked, Those keeping the law plead against them.

⁵Ny ratsy fanahy dia tsy mahalala rariny; Fa izay mitady an'i Jehovah no mahalala ny zavatra rehetra.

⁵Evil men understand not judgment, And those seeking Jehovah understand all.

⁶Ny malahelo izay mandeha amin'ny fahitsiany Dia tsara noho ny manan-karena izay mivadika ka mandeha amin'ny lalana miolikolika.

⁶Better [is] the poor walking in his integrity, Than the perverse of ways who is rich.

⁷Izay mitandrina ny lalàna no zanaka hendry; Fa izay misakaiza amin'ny mpandany harena dia manome henatra ny rainy.

⁷Whoso is keeping the law is an intelligent son, And a friend of gluttons, Doth cause his father to blush.

⁸Izay mampitombo ny fananany amin'ny zana-bola sy ny tombony Dia mamory ho an'izay miantra ny malahelo

⁸Whoso is multiplying his wealth by biting and usury, For one favouring the poor doth gather it.

⁹Izay manentsin-tadiny tsy hihaino ny lalàna, Na ny fivavahany aza dia fahavetavetana.

⁹Whoso is turning his ear from hearing the law, Even his prayer [is] an abomination.

¹⁰Izay mampivily ny mahitsy ho amin'ny lalan-dratsy Dia ho lavo amin'ny lavaka nataony; Fa ny tsy misy tsiny no handova ny soa.

¹⁰Whoso is causing the upright to err in an evil way, Into his own pit he doth fall, And the perfect do inherit good.

¹¹Ny manan-karena manao azy ho hendry; Fa ny malahelo izay manan-tsaina dia hizaha toetra azy.

¹¹A rich man is wise in his own eyes, And the intelligent poor searcheth him.

¹²Raha ravoravo ny marina, dia be ny famirapiratana; Fa raha misandratra kosa ny ratsy fanahy, dia miery ny vahoaka.[Na. mitsangana]

¹²In the exulting of the righteous the glory [is] abundant, And in the rising of the wicked man is apprehensive.

¹³Izay manafina ny fahotany tsy hambinina; Fa izay mitsotra ka mahafoy azy no hahazo famindram-po.

¹³Whoso is covering his transgressions prospereth not, And he who is confessing and forsaking hath mercy.

¹⁴Sambatra izay olona matahotra mandrakariva; Fa izay manamafy ny fony no hidiran-doza.

¹⁴O the happiness of a man fearing continually, And whoso is hardening his heart falleth into evil.

¹⁵Liona mierona sy bera miremby Ny mpanapaka ratsy fanahy amin'ny olona reraka.

¹⁵A growling lion, and a ranging bear, [Is] the wicked ruler over a poor people.

¹⁶Ny mpanapaka tsy ampy saina dia mahery mampahory; Izay mankahala ny fieremana no ho ela velona.

¹⁶A leader lacking understanding multiplieth oppressions, Whoso is hating dishonest gain prolongeth days.

¹⁷Izay itambesaran-keloka noho ny fandatsahan-drà dia handositra hatrany an-davaka; Aoka tsy hisy hihazona azy.

¹⁷A man oppressed with the blood of a soul, Unto the pit fleeth, none taketh hold on him.

¹⁸Izay mandeha tsy misy tsiny no ho voavonjy; Fa izay mivadika ka mandeha amin'ny lalana miolikolika no ho lavo tampoka.

¹⁸Whoso is walking uprightly is saved, And the perverted of ways falleth at once.

¹⁹Izay miasa ny taniny dia ho voky hanina Fa izay manaraka ny olom-poana ho voky alahelo kosa.[Na: zava-poana]

¹⁹Whoso is tilling his ground is satisfied [with] bread, And whoso is pursuing vanity, Is filled [with] poverty.

²⁰Izay olona mahatoky tokoa dia ho be fitahiana; Fa izay maimay ta-hanan-karena dia tsy maintsy hohelohina.

²⁰A stedfast man hath multiplied blessings, And whoso is hasting to be rich is not acquitted.

²¹Tsy mety raha mizaha tavan'olona; Kanefa na dia amin'ny sombin-kanina ihany aza dia sahin'ny olona hanotana.

²¹To discern faces is not good, And for a piece of bread doth a man transgress.

²²Ny mpialona dia maimay ta-hanan-karena; Tsy fantany fa hanjo azy ny alahelo.

²²Troubled for wealth [is] the man [with] an evil eye, And he knoweth not that want doth meet him.

²³Izay mananatra olona no hahazo fitia be rahatrizay Noho izay mandrobo amin'ny lelany.

²³Whoso is reproving a man afterwards findeth grace, More than a flatterer with the tongue.

²⁴Izay mandroba ray sy reny Ka manao hoe: Tsy heloka izany, Dia naman'ny mpanimba.

²⁴Whoso is robbing his father, or his mother, And is saying, `It is not transgression,` A companion he is to a destroyer.

²⁵Izay mierina manetsika ady; Fa izay matoky an'i Jehovah dia hohatavezina.[Na: miavonavona am-po]

²⁵Whoso is proud in soul stirreth up contention, And whoso is trusting on Jehovah is made fat.

²⁶Izay matoky ny fony dia adala; Fa izay mandeha amin'ny fahendrena no ho afa-miala.

²⁶Whoso is trusting in his heart is a fool, And whoso is walking in wisdom is delivered.

²⁷Izay manome ny malahelo tsy hanan-java-mahory; Fa izay mitampi-maso hahazo ozona be;Raha misandratra ny ratsy fanahy, dia miery ny vahoaka; Fa raha ringana kosa izy, dia mihamaro ny marina.[Na: mitsangana]

²⁷Whoso is giving to the poor hath no lack, And whoso is hiding his eyes multiplied curses.

²⁸Raha misandratra ny ratsy fanahy, dia miery ny vahoaka; Fa raha ringana kosa izy, dia mihamaro ny marina.[Na: mitsangana]

²⁸In the rising of the wicked a man is hidden, And in their destruction the righteous multiply!
