1To the Overseer. — `On the Lilies,` by David. Save me, O God, for come have waters unto the soul.
2Milentika amin'ny fotaka mandrevo aho, ka tsy misy hifaharana; efa miditra amin'ny rano lalina aho, ka mandifotra ahy ny riaka.
2I have sunk in deep mire, And there is no standing, I have come into the depths of the waters, And a flood hath overflown me.
3Sasatry ny mitaraina aho, maimay ny tendako; pahina ny masoko, raha miandry an'Andriamanitro aho.
3I have been wearied with my calling, Burnt hath been my throat, Consumed have been mine eyes, waiting for my God.
4Maro noho ny volon-dohako ny isan'izay mankahala ahy tsy ahoan-tsy ahoana; mahery izay ta-hahafaty ahy, dia ny fahavaloko tsy ahoan-tsy ahoana; mampanonitra ahy izay tsy nalaiko izy.
4Those hating me without cause Have been more than the hairs of my head, Mighty have been my destroyers, My lying enemies, That which I took not away — I bring back.
5Andriamanitra ô, Hianao mahalala ny hadalako; ary ny heloko tsy mba miafina aminao.
5O God, Thou — Thou hast known Concerning my overturn, And my desolations from Thee have not been hid.
6Aoka tsy ho menatra noho ny amiko izay miandry Anao, Jehovah, Tompon'ny maro ô; aoka tsy ho very hevitra noho ny amiko izay mitady Anao, ry Andriamanitry ny Isiraely ô.
6Let not those waiting on Thee be ashamed because of me, O Lord, Jehovah of Hosts, Let not those seeking Thee Blush because of me, O God of Israel.
7Fa noho ny aminao no itondrako latsa; safotry ny henatra ny tavako.
7For because of Thee I have borne reproach, Shame hath covered my face.
8Efa vahiny amin'ny rahalahiko aho; eny, efa olon-ko azy amin'ny zanak'ineny aho.
8A stranger I have been to my brother, And a foreigner to sons of my mother.
9Fa ny firehetako ny amin'ny tranonao no naharitra aina ahy; ary ny latsa nataon'izay nandatsa Anao dia nihatra tamiko.
9For zeal for Thy house hath consumed me, And the reproaches of Thy reproachers Have fallen upon me.
10Nitomany sady nifady hanina aho, dia natao latsa ho ahy izany.
10And I weep in the fasting of my soul, And it is for a reproach to me.
11Lamba fisaonana no nataoko fitafiako, dia efa ambentin-teny tamin'ireny aho.
11And I make my clothing sackcloth, And I am to them for a simile.
12Miresaka ahy izay mipetraka eo am-bavahady; ary ataon'ny mpisotro toaka an-kira aho.
12Those sitting at the gate meditate concerning me, And those drinking strong drink, Play on instruments.
13Fa izaho hivavaka aminao amin'ny andro fankasitrahana, Jehovah ô, dia aminao , Andriamanitra ô noho ny haben'ny famindram-ponao; valio aho araka ny hamarinan'ny famonjenao.
13And I — my prayer [is] to Thee, O Jehovah, A time of good pleasure, O God, In the abundance of Thy kindness, Answer me in the truth of Thy salvation.
14Afaho amin'ny fotaka aho, ka aza avela hilentika; vonjeo aho amin'izay mankahala ahy sy amin'ny rano lalina.
14Deliver me from the mire, and let me not sink, Let me be delivered from those hating me, And from deep places of waters.
15Aza avela hanafotra ahy ny rano mandriaka, na hitelina ahy ny lalina; ary aza avela hikatom-bava amiko ny lavaka fantsakana.
15Let not a flood of waters overflow me, Nor let the deep swallow me up, Nor let the pit shut her mouth upon me.
16Valio aho, Jehovah ô, fa tsara ny famindram-ponao; todiho aho araka ny haben'ny fiantranao.
16Answer me, O Jehovah, for good [is] Thy kindness, According to the abundance Of Thy mercies turn Thou unto me,
17Ary aza manafina ny tavanao amin'ny mpanomponao; fa azom-pahoriana aho, koa faingàna hamaly ahy Hianao.
17And hide not Thy face from Thy servant, For I am in distress — haste, answer me.
18Hatony ny fanahiko, avoty izy; Eny, vonjeo aho noho ny ataon'ny fahavaloko.
18Be near unto my soul — redeem it, Because of mine enemies ransom me.
19Hianao no mahalala ny latsa mihatra amiko ary ny fahamenarako sy ny fahafaham-boninahitro; Eo anatrehanao ny mpandrafy ahy rehetra.
19Thou — Thou hast known my reproach, And my shame, and my blushing, Before Thee [are] all mine adversaries.
20Ny latsa dia nanorotoro ny foko ka reraka indrindra aho; ary niandry antra aho, fa tsy nisy, sy mpanony fa tsy nahita.
20Reproach hath broken my heart, and I am sick, And I look for a bemoaner, and there is none, And for comforters, and I have found none.
21Fa zava-mangidy no nomeny ho haniko; ary vinaingitra no natolony ahy hosotroina, raha nangetaheta aho.
21And they give for my food gall, And for my thirst cause me to drink vinegar.
22Aoka ho fandrika ho azy ny latabany eo anoloany; eny, ho tonta ho an'ny tsy manana ahiahy.
22Their table before them is for a snare, And for a recompence — for a trap.
23Aoka ho jamba ny masony mba tsy hahita; ary ampangozohozoy mandrakariva ny valahany.
23Darkened are their eyes from seeing, And their loins continually shake Thou.
24Aidino aminy ny fahatezeranao; ary aoka hahatratra azy ny firehetan'ny fahaviniranao.
24Pour upon them Thine indignation, And the fierceness of Thine anger doth seize them.
25Aoka ho foana ny tobiny; aza avela hisy hitoetra ao an-dainy.
25Their tower is desolated, In their tents there is no dweller.
26Fa izay nasianao no nenjehiny; Ary ny fahararian'ny voatsindronao dia lazalazainy.
26For they have pursued him Thou hast smitten, And recount of the pain of Thy pierced ones.
27Aoka hiampy ny helony; ary aoka tsy hiditra amin'ny fahamarinanao izy.
27Give punishment for their iniquity, And they enter not into Thy righteousness.
28Aoka hovonoina tsy ho eo amin'ny bokin'ny velona ny anarany, ary aoka tsy hosoratana eo amin'ny marina.
28They are blotted out of the book of life, And with the righteous are not written.
29Fa izaho dia ory sy mahantra, Andriamanitra ô; aoka ny famonjenao no hanandratra ahy.
29And I [am] afflicted and pained, Thy salvation, O God, doth set me on high.
30Hankalaza ny anaran'Andriamanitra amin'ny fihirana aho, ary hidera Azy amin'ny fisaorana.
30I praise the name of God with a song, And I magnify Him with thanksgiving,
31Fa ho sitrak'i Jehovah Izany mihoatra noho ny vantotr'ombilahy, izay manan-tandroka sady mivaky kitro.
31And it is better to Jehovah than an ox, A bullock — horned — hoofed.
32Hahita izany ny mpandefitra ka ho faly; aoka ho velona ny fonareo, ry mpitady an'Andriamanitra.
32The humble have seen — they rejoice, Ye who seek God — and your heart liveth.
33Fa mihaino ny malahelo Jehovah, ary ny olony mifatotra tsy mba hamavoiny.
33For Jehovah hearkeneth unto the needy, And His bound ones He hath not despised.
34Aoka hidera Azy ny lanitra sy ny tany, ny ranomasina sy izay rehetra mihetsika ao aminy.
34The heavens and earth do praise Him, Seas, and every moving thing in them.
35Fa Andriamanitra hamonjy an'i Ziona sady hanangana ny tanànan'ny Joda; ary hitoetra ao ny olony ka ho tompony;Dia handova azy ny taranaky ny mpanompony; ary hitoetra ao izay tia ny anarany.
35For God doth save Zion, And doth build the cities of Judah, And they have dwelt there, and possess it.
36Dia handova azy ny taranaky ny mpanompony; ary hitoetra ao izay tia ny anarany.
36And the seed of His servants inherit it, And those loving His name dwell in it!
