Darby's Translation

Psalms

94

1¶ E Ihowa, e te Atua, e te Kairapu utu; e te Atua, e te Kairapu utu, tiaho mai.
1O ùGod of vengeances, Jehovah, ùGod of vengeances, shine forth;
2Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth, render the reward to the proud.
3Kia pehea te roa, e Ihowa, o te hunga kino nei, kia pehea te roa o te hunga kino e whakamanamana ana?
3How long shall the wicked, O Jehovah, how long shall the wicked triumph?
4[How long] shall they utter [and] speak insolence -- all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?
5Mongamonga noa tau iwi i a ratou, e Ihowa: e tukinotia ana e ratou tou kainga tupu.
5They crush thy people, O Jehovah, and afflict thine inheritance;
6E patua ana e ratou te pouaru, te manene: e kohuru ana i te pani.
6They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless,
7A e mea ana, E kore a Ihowa e kite; e kore e maharatia e te Atua o Hakopa.
7And say, Jah will not see, neither will the God of Jacob regard [it].
8Kia matau, e nga poauau o te iwi: a hea ano koutou whai mahara ai, e nga kuware?
8Understand, ye brutish among the people; and ye fools, when will ye be wise?
9Ko te kaiwhakato o te taringa, e kore ranei ia e rongo? Ko te kaihanga o te kanohi, e kore ianei ia e kite?
9He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? He that formed the eye, shall he not see?
10Ko te kaipapaki o nga iwi e kore ranei ia e papaki, ara ko te kaiwhakaako nei i te tangata kia mohio?
10He that instructeth the nations, shall not he correct -- he that teacheth man knowledge?
11Jehovah knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.
12¶ Ka hari te tangata e pakia ana e koe, e Ihowa: e whakaakona ana i roto i tau ture;
12Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Jah, and whom thou teachest out of thy law;
13Kia marie ai tona ngakau i a koe i nga ra o te he, a keria noatia iho te poka mo te tangata kino.
13That thou mayest give him rest from the days of evil, until the pit be digged for the wicked.
14E kore hoki a Ihowa e panga i tana iwi, e kore ano e whakarere i tona kainga tupu.
14For Jehovah will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance;
15For judgment shall return unto righteousness, and all the upright in heart shall follow it.
16Who will rise up for me against the evil-doers? who will stand for me against the workers of iniquity?
17Mehemea kaua a Ihowa hei awhina moku, penei kua noho kupukore noa atu toku wairua.
17If Jehovah had not been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.
18I taku meatanga, Ka paheke toku waewae; na tau mahi tohu, e Ihowa, ahau i tautoko ake.
18When I said, My foot slippeth, thy loving-kindness, O Jehovah, held me up.
19I oku whakaaronga maha i roto i toku ngakau ko au whakamarie toku oranga ngakau.
19In the multitude of my anxious thoughts within me thy comforts have delighted my soul.
20Shall the throne of wickedness be united to thee, which frameth mischief into a law?
21They band together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn innocent blood.
22Ko Ihowa ia toku pa teko: ko toku Atua hei kohatu piringa moku.
22But Jehovah will be my high tower; and my God the rock of my refuge.
23A nana i whakahoki to ratou kino ki runga ki a ratou, a tera ia e whakangaro i a ratou i roto i o ratou kino: ma Ihowa, ma to tatou Atua ratou e whakangaro.
23And he will bring upon them their iniquity, and will cut them off in their own evil: Jehovah our God will cut them off.
