1എലീശാപ്രവാചകന് ഒരു പ്രവാചകശിഷ്യനെ വിളിച്ചു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുനീ അരകെട്ടി ഈ തൈലപാത്രം എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു ഗിലെയാദിലെ രാമോത്തിലേക്കു പോക.
1Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets, and said to him, “Put your belt on your waist, take this vial of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth Gilead.
2അവിടെ എത്തിയശേഷം നിംശിയുടെ മകനായ യെഹോശാഫാത്തിന്റെ മകന് യേഹൂ എവിടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നോക്കി അകത്തു ചെന്നു അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ നടുവില്നിന്നു അവനെ എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു ഉള്മുറിയിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോക.
2When you come there, find Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brothers, and carry him to an inner room.
3പിന്നെ തൈലപാത്രം എടുത്തു അവന്റെ തലയില് ഒഴിച്ചുഞാന് നിന്നെ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു രാജാവായി അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു വാതില് തുറന്നു താമസിക്കാതെ ഔടിപ്പോരിക.
3Then take the vial of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, ‘Thus says Yahweh, “I have anointed you king over Israel.”’ Then open the door, flee, and don’t wait.”
4അങ്ങനെ പ്രവാചകനായ ആ യൌവനക്കാരന് ഗിലെയാദിലെ രാമോത്തിലേക്കു പോയി.
4So the young man, even the young man the prophet, went to Ramoth Gilead.
5അവന് അവിടെ എത്തിയപ്പോള് പടനായകന്മാര് മരുമിച്ചു ഇരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടുനായകാ, എനിക്കു നിന്നോടു ഒരു കാര്യം അറിയിപ്പാനുണ്ടു എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞതിന്നുഞങ്ങള് എല്ലാവരിലുംവെച്ചു ആരോടു എന്നു യേഹൂ ചോദിച്ചു. നിന്നോടു തന്നേ, നായകാ എന്നു അവന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
5When he came, behold, the captains of the army were sitting. Then he said, “I have a message for you, captain.” Jehu said, “To which of us all?” He said, “To you, O captain.”
6അവന് എഴുന്നേറ്റു മുറിക്കകത്തു കടന്നു; അപ്പോള് അവന് തൈലം അവന്റെ തലയില് ഒഴിച്ചു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; ഞാന് നിന്നെ യഹോവയുടെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു രാജാവായിട്ടു അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
6He arose, and went into the house. Then he poured the oil on his head, and said to him, “Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, ‘I have anointed you king over the people of Yahweh, even over Israel.
7എന്റെ ദാസന്മാരായ പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ രക്തത്തിന്നും യഹോവയുടെ സകലദാസന്മാരുടെയും രക്തത്തിന്നും ഈസേബെലിനോടു ഞാന് പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്റെ യജമാനനായ ആഹാബിന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തെ നീ സംഹരിച്ചുകളയേണം.
7You shall strike the house of Ahab your master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of Yahweh, at the hand of Jezebel.
8ആഹാബ്ഗൃഹം അശേഷം മുടിഞ്ഞുപോകേണം; യിസ്രായേലില് ആഹാബിന്നുള്ള സ്വതന്ത്രനും അസ്വതന്ത്രനുമായ പുരുഷപ്രജയെ ഒക്കെയും ഞാന് ഛേദിച്ചുകളയും.
8For the whole house of Ahab shall perish. I will cut off from Ahab everyone who urinates against a wall, or, male both him who is shut up and him who is left at large in Israel.
9ഞാന് ആഹാബ്ഗൃഹത്തെ നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തെപ്പോലെയും അഹീയാവിന്റെ മകനായ ബയെശയുടെ ഗൃഹത്തെപ്പോലെയും ആക്കും.
9I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah.
10ഈസേബെലിനെ യിസ്രെയേല് പ്രദേശത്തുവെച്ചു നായ്ക്കള് തിന്നുകളയും; അവളെ അടക്കം ചെയ്വാന് ആരും ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല. പിന്നെ അവന് വാതില് തുറന്നു ഔടിപ്പോയി.
10The dogs will eat Jezebel on the plot of ground of Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her.’” He opened the door, and fled.
11യേഹൂതന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കല് പുറത്തു വന്നപ്പോള് ഒരുത്തന് അവനോടുഎന്താകുന്നു വിശേഷം? ആ ഭ്രാന്തന് നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നതെന്തിന്നു? എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അതിന്നു അവന് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് ആ പുരുഷനെയും അവന് പറഞ്ഞകാര്യത്തെയും അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
11Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord: and one said to him, “Is all well? Why did this mad fellow come to you?” He said to them, “You know the man and what his talk was.”
12എന്നാറെ അവര്അതു നേരല്ല; നീ ഞങ്ങളോടു പറയേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു അവന് ഞാന് നിന്നെ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു രാജാവായിട്ടു അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നാദിയായി ഇന്നിന്ന കാര്യങ്ങള് അവന് എന്നോടു സംസാരിച്ചു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
12They said, “That is a lie. Tell us now.” He said, “He said to me, ‘Thus says Yahweh, I have anointed you king over Israel.’”
13ഉടനെ അവര് ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ വസ്ത്രം എടുത്തു കോവണിപ്പടികളിന്മേല് അവന്റെ കാല്ക്കല് വിരിച്ചു. കാഹളം ഊതിയേഹൂ രാജാവായി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
13Then they hurried, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew the trumpet, saying, “Jehu is king.”
14അങ്ങനെ നിംശിയുടെ മകനായ യെഹോശാഫാത്തിന്റെ മകന് യേഹൂ യോരാമിന്നു വിരോധമായി കൂട്ടുകെട്ടുണ്ടാക്കി. യോരാമും എല്ലായിസ്രായേലും അരാംരാജാവായ ഹസായേല്നിമിത്തം ഗിലെയാദിലെ രാമോത്തിനെ കാവല് ആക്കി സൂക്ഷിച്ചിരുന്നു.
14So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram was keeping Ramoth Gilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria;
15അരാംരാജാവായ ഹസായേലിനോടുള്ള യുദ്ധത്തില് അരാമ്യര് തനിക്കു ഏല്പിച്ച മുറിവുകള്ക്കു യിസ്രെയേലില്വെച്ചു ചികിത്സചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു യോരാംരാജാവു മടങ്ങിപ്പോന്നിരുന്നു. എന്നാല് യേഹൂനിങ്ങള്ക്കു സമ്മതമെങ്കില് യിസ്രെയേലില് ചെന്നു ഇതു അറിയിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ആരും പട്ടണം വിട്ടുപോകാതെ സൂക്ഷിക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
15but king Joram was returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) Jehu said, “If this is your thinking, then let no one escape and go out of the city, to go to tell it in Jezreel.”
16അങ്ങനെ യേഹൂ രഥം കയറി യിസ്രെയേലിലേക്കു പോയി; യോരാം അവിടെ കിടക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. യോരാമിനെ കാണ്മാന് യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ അഹസ്യാവും അവിടെ വന്നിരുന്നു.
16So Jehu rode in a chariot, and went to Jezreel; for Joram lay there. Ahaziah king of Judah had come down to see Joram.
17യിസ്രെയേലിലെ ഗോപുരമുകളില് ഒരു കാവല്ക്കാരന് നിന്നിരുന്നു; അവന് യേവഹൂവിന്റെ കൂട്ടം വരുന്നതു കണ്ടിട്ടുഞാന് ഒരു കൂട്ടത്തെ കാണുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോള് യോരാംനീ ഒരു കുതിരച്ചേവകനെ വിളിച്ചു അവരുടെ നേരെ അയക്കേണം; അവന് ചെന്നുസമാധാനമോ എന്നു ചോദിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.
17Now the watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, “I see a company.” Joram said, “Take a horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, ‘Is it peace?’”
18അങ്ങനെ ഒരുത്തന് കുതിരപ്പുറത്തു കയറി അവനെ എതിരേറ്റു ചെന്നുസമാധാനമോ എന്നു രാജാവു ചോദിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. സമാധാനം കൊണ്ടു നിനക്കു എന്തു കാര്യം? തിരിഞ്ഞു എന്റെ പുറകില് വരിക എന്നു യേഹൂ പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോള് കാവല്ക്കാരന് ദൂതന് അവരുടെ അടുക്കലോളം ചെന്നിട്ടും മടങ്ങിവരുന്നില്ല എന്നു അറിയിച്ചു.
18So there went one on horseback to meet him, and said, “Thus says the king, ‘Is it peace?’” Jehu said, “What do you have to do with peace? Fall in behind me!” The watchman said, “The messenger came to them, but he isn’t coming back.”
19അവന് മറ്റൊരുത്തനെ കുതിരപ്പുറത്തു അയച്ചു; അവനും അവരുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നുസമാധാനമോ എന്നു രാജാവു ചോദിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. സമാധാനംകൊണ്ടു നിനക്കു എന്തു കാര്യം? തിരിഞ്ഞു എന്റെ പുറകില് വരിക എന്നു യേഹൂ പറഞ്ഞു.
19Then he sent out a second on horseback, who came to them, and said, “Thus says the king, ‘Is it peace?’” Jehu answered, “What do you have to do with peace? Fall in behind me!”
20അപ്പോള് കാവല്ക്കാരന് അവനും അവരുടെ അടുക്കലോളം ചെന്നിട്ടു മടങ്ങിവരുന്നില്ല; ആ ഔടിക്കുന്നതു നിംശിയുടെ മകനായ യേഹൂ ഔടിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; ഭ്രന്തനപ്പോലെയല്ലോ അവന് ഔടിച്ചുവരുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
20The watchman said, “He came to them, and isn’t coming back. The driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he drives furiously.”
21ഉടനെ യോരാംരഥം പൂട്ടുക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു; രഥം പൂട്ടിയശേഷം യിസ്രായേല് രാജാവായ യോരാമും യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ അഹസ്യാവും താന്താന്റെ രഥത്തില് കയറി യേഹൂവിന്റെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെട്ടു, യിസ്രെയേല്യനായ നാബോത്തിന്റെ നിലത്തിങ്കല്വെച്ചു അവനെ എതിരേറ്റു.
21Joram said, “Get ready!” They got his chariot ready. Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out to meet Jehu, and found him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite.
22യേഹൂവിനെ കണ്ടപ്പോള് യോരാംയേഹൂവേ, സമാധാനമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അതിന്നു യേഹൂനിന്റെ അമ്മയായ ഈസേബെലിന്റെ പരസംഗവും ക്ഷുദ്രവും ഇത്ര അധികമായിരിക്കുന്നേടത്തോളം എന്തു സമാധാനം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
22It happened, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, “Is it peace, Jehu?” He answered, “What peace, so long as the prostitution of your mother Jezebel and her witchcraft abound?”
23അപ്പോള് യോരാം രഥം തിരിച്ചു ഔടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു അഹസ്യാവോടുഅഹസ്യാവേ, ഇതു ദ്രോഹം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
23Joram turned his hands, and fled, and said to Ahaziah, “There is treason, Ahaziah!”
24യേഹൂ വില്ലുകുലെച്ചു യോരാമിനെ ഭുജങ്ങളുടെ നടുവെ എയ്തു; അമ്പു അവന്റെ ഹൃദയം തുളഞ്ഞു മറുപുറം കടന്നു; അവന് രഥത്തില് ചുരുണ്ടു വീണു.
24Jehu drew his bow with his full strength, and struck Joram between his arms; and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sunk down in his chariot.
25യേഹൂ തന്റെ പടനായകനായ ബിദ്കാരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുഅവനെ എടുത്തു യിസ്രെയേല്യനായ നാബോത്തിന്റെ നിലത്തില് എറിഞ്ഞുകളക; ഞാനും നീയും ഒരുമിച്ചു അവന്റെ അപ്പനായ ആഹാബിന്റെ പിന്നാലെ കുതിരയേറി പോകുമ്പോള്
25Then Jehu said to Bidkar his captain, “Pick him up, and throw him in the plot of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite; for remember how, when you and I rode together after Ahab his father, Yahweh laid this burden on him:
26നാബോത്തിന്റെ രക്തവും അവന്റെ മക്കളുടെ രക്തവും ഇന്നലെ ഞാന് കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു സത്യം എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; ഈ നിലത്തുവെച്ചു ഞാന് നിനക്കു പകരം വീട്ടുമെന്നും യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നിങ്ങനെ യഹോവയുടെ ഈ അരുപ്പാടു അവന്നു വിരോധമായി ഉണ്ടായെന്നു ഔര്ത്തുകൊള്ക; അവനെ എടുത്തു യഹോവയുടെ വചന പ്രകാരം തന്നേ ഈ നിലത്തില് എറിഞ്ഞുകളക.
26‘Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons,’ says Yahweh; ‘and I will repay you in this plot of ground,’ says Yahweh. Now therefore take and cast him onto the plot of ground, according to the word of Yahweh.”
27യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ അഹസ്യാവു ഇതു കണ്ടിട്ടു ഉദ്യാനഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ വഴിയായി ഔടിപ്പോയി. യേഹൂ അവനെ പിന്തുടര്ന്നുഅവനെയും രഥത്തില് വെട്ടിക്കളവിന് എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു. അവര് യിബ്ളെയാമിന്നു സമീപത്തുള്ള ഗൂര്കയറ്റത്തിങ്കല്വെച്ചു അവനെ വെട്ടി; അവന് മെഗിദ്ദോവിലേക്കു ഔടിച്ചെന്നു അവിടെവെച്ചു മരിച്ചുപോയി.
27But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house. Jehu followed after him, and said, “Strike him also in the chariot!” They struck him at the ascent of Gur, which is by Ibleam. He fled to Megiddo, and died there.
28അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാര് അവനെ രഥത്തില്വെച്ചു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു കെണ്ടുപോയി ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തില് അവന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടുകൂടെ അവന്റെ കല്ലറയില് അവനെ അടക്കംചെയ്തു.
28His servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his tomb with his fathers in the city of David.
29ആഹാബിന്റെ മകനായ യോരാമിന്റെ പതിനൊന്നാം ആണ്ടില് ആയിരുന്നു അഹസ്യാവു യെഹൂദയില് രാജാവായതു.
29In the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab began Ahaziah to reign over Judah.
30യേഹൂ യിസ്രായേലില് വന്നതു ഈസേബെല് കേട്ടിട്ടു തന്റെ കണ്ണില് മഷിയെഴുതി തലചീകി മിനുക്കിക്കൊണ്ടു കിളിവാതില്ക്കല്കൂടി നോക്കി.
30When Jehu had come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her eyes, and attired her head, and looked out at the window.
31യേഹൂ പടിവാതില് കടന്നപ്പോള് അവള്യജമാനനെ കൊന്നവനായ സിമ്രിക്കു സമാധാനമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
31As Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, “Do you come in peace, Zimri, you murderer of your master?”
32അവന് തന്റെ മുഖം കിളിവാതില്ക്കലേക്കു ഉയര്ത്തിആരുള്ളു എന്റെ പക്ഷത്തു? ആരുള്ളു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. എന്നാറെ രണ്ടുമൂന്നു ഷണ്ഡന്മാര് പുറത്തേക്കു നോക്കി.
32He lifted up his face to the window, and said, “Who is on my side? Who?” Two or three eunuchs looked out at him.
33അവളെ താഴെ തള്ളിയിടുവിന് എന്നു അവന് കല്പിച്ചു. ഉടനെ അവര് അവളെ താഴെ തള്ളിയിട്ടു; അവളുടെ രക്തം ചുവരിന്മേലും കുതിരകളിന്മേലും തെറിച്ചു; അവന് അവളെ ചവിട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു.
33He said, “Throw her down!” So they threw her down; and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses. Then he trampled her under foot.
34അവന് ചെന്നു ഭക്ഷിച്ചു പാനം ചെയ്തശേഷംആ ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവളെ ചെന്നു നോക്കി അടക്കം ചെയ്വിന് ; അവള് രാജകുമാരിയല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
34When he had come in, he ate and drink; and he said, “See now to this cursed woman, and bury her; for she is a king’s daughter.”
35അവര് അവളെ അടക്കം ചെയ്വാന് ചെന്നാറെ അവളുടെ തലമണ്ടയും കാലുകളും കൈപ്പത്തികളും അല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നും കണ്ടില്ല.
35They went to bury her; but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands.
36അവര് മടങ്ങിവന്നു അവനോടു അതു അറിയിച്ചു. അപ്പോള് അവന് യിസ്രെയേല് പ്രദേശത്തുവെച്ചു നായ്ക്കള് ഈസേബെലിന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നുകളയും;
36Therefore they came back, and told him. He said, “This is the word of Yahweh, which he spoke by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, ‘The dogs will eat the flesh of Jezebel on the plot of Jezreel,
37അതു ഈസേബെല് എന്നു പറവാന് കഴിയാതവണ്ണം ഈസേബെലിന്റെ പിണം യിസ്രെയേല്പ്രദേശത്തു വയലിലെ ചാണകം പോലെ ആകും എന്നിങ്ങനെ യഹോവ തിശ്ബ്യനായ എലീയാവു എന്ന തന്റെ ദാസന് മുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനം തന്നേ ഇതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
37and the body of Jezebel shall be as dung on the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel, so that they shall not say, “This is Jezebel.”’”
