1ആകയാല്‍ പ്രിയമക്കള്‍ എന്നപോലെ ദൈവത്തെ അനുകരിപ്പിന്‍ .
1Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children.
2ക്രിസ്തുവും നിങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു നമുക്കു വേണ്ടി തന്നെത്താന്‍ ദൈവത്തിന്നു സൌരഭ്യവാസനയായ വഴിപാടും യാഗവുമായി അര്‍പ്പിച്ചതു പോലെ സ്നേഹത്തില്‍ നടപ്പിന്‍
2Walk in love, even as Christ also loved you, and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance.
3ദുര്‍ന്നടപ്പും യാതൊരു അശുദ്ധിയും അത്യാഗ്രഹവും നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില്‍ പേര്‍ പറകപോലും അരുതു;
3But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints;
4അങ്ങനെ ആകുന്നു വിശുദ്ധന്മാര്‍ക്കും ഉചിതം. ചീത്തത്തരം, പൊട്ടച്ചൊല്‍, കളിവാക്കു ഇങ്ങനെ ചേര്‍ച്ചയല്ലാത്തവ ഒന്നും അരുതു; സ്തോത്രമത്രേ വേണ്ടതു.
4nor filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not appropriate; but rather giving of thanks.
5ദുര്‍ന്നടപ്പുകാരന്‍ , അശുദ്ധന്‍ , വിഗ്രഹാരാധിയായ ദ്രവ്യാഗ്രഹി ഇവര്‍ക്കും ആര്‍ക്കും ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെയും ദൈവത്തിന്റെയും രാജ്യത്തില്‍ അവകാശമില്ല എന്നു നിങ്ങള്‍ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.
5Know this for sure, that no sexually immoral person, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and God.
6വ്യര്‍ത്ഥവാക്കുകളാല്‍ ആരും നിങ്ങളെ ചതിക്കരുതു; ഈ വക നിമിത്തമല്ലോ ദൈവകോപം അനുസരണം കെട്ടവരുടെ മേല്‍ വരുന്നു.
6Let no one deceive you with empty words. For because of these things, the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience.
7നിങ്ങള്‍ അവരുടെ കൂട്ടാളികള്‍ ആകരുതു.
7Therefore don’t be partakers with them.
8മുമ്പെ നിങ്ങള്‍ ഇരുളായിരുന്നു; ഇപ്പോഴോ കര്‍ത്താവില്‍ വെളിച്ചം ആകുന്നു.
8For you were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord. Walk as children of light,
9കര്‍ത്താവിന്നു പ്രസാദമായതു എന്തെന്നു പരിശോധിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു വെളിച്ചത്തിലുള്ളവരായി നടന്നുകൊള്‍വിന്‍ .
9for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth,
10സകല സല്ഗുണവും നീതിയും സത്യവുമല്ലോ വെളിച്ചത്തിന്റെ ഫലം.
10proving what is well pleasing to the Lord.
11ഇരുട്ടിന്റെ നിഷ്ഫലപ്രവൃത്തികളില്‍ കൂട്ടാളികള്‍ ആകരുതു; അവയെ ശാസിക്ക അത്രേ വേണ്ടതു.
11Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them.
12അവര്‍ ഗൂഢമായി ചെയ്യുന്നതു പറവാന്‍ പോലും ലജ്ജയാകുന്നു.
12For the things which are done by them in secret, it is a shame even to speak of.
13അവയെ ശാസിക്കുമ്പോഴോ സകലത്തെയും കുറിച്ചു വെളിച്ചത്താല്‍ ബോധം വരും; ബോധം വരുന്നതെല്ലാം വെളിച്ചം പോലെ തെളിവല്ലോ.
13But all things, when they are reproved, are revealed by the light, for everything that reveals is light.
14അതുകൊണ്ടു“ഉറങ്ങുന്നവനേ, ഉണര്‍ന്നു മരിച്ചവരുടെ ഇടയില്‍ നിന്നു എഴുന്നേല്‍ക്ക; എന്നാല്‍ ക്രിസ്തു നിന്റെ മേല്‍ പ്രകാശിക്കും” എന്നു ചൊല്ലുന്നു.
14Therefore he says, “Awake, you who sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”
15ആകയാല്‍ സൂക്ഷമത്തോടെ, അജ്ഞാനികളായിട്ടല്ല ജ്ഞാനികളായിട്ടത്രേ നടപ്പാന്‍ നോക്കുവിന്‍ .
15Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise;
16ഇതു ദുഷ്കാലമാകയാല്‍ സമയം തക്കത്തില്‍ ഉപയോഗിച്ചുകൊള്‍വിന്‍ .
16redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17ബുദ്ധിഹീനരാകാതെ കര്‍ത്താവിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം ഇന്നതെന്നു ഗ്രഹിച്ചുകൊള്‍വിന്‍ .
17Therefore don’t be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
18വീഞ്ഞു കുടിച്ചു മത്തരാകാരുതു; അതിനാല്‍ ദുര്‍ന്നടപ്പു ഉണ്ടാകുമല്ലോ. ആത്മാവു നിറഞ്ഞവരായി സങ്കീര്‍ത്തനങ്ങളാലും
18Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,
19സ്തുതികളാലും ആത്മിക ഗീതങ്ങളാലും തമ്മില്‍ സംസാരിച്ചും നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തില്‍ കര്‍ത്താവിന്നു പാടിയും കീര്‍ത്തനം ചെയ്തും
19speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs; singing, and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
20നമ്മുടെ കര്‍ത്താവായ യേശു ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ നാമത്തില്‍ ദൈവവും പിതാവുമായവന്നു എല്ലായ്പോഴും എല്ലാറ്റിന്നു വേണ്ടിയും സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്തുകൊള്‍വിന്‍ .
20giving thanks always concerning all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to God, even the Father;
21ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ ഭയത്തില്‍ അന്യോന്യം കീഴ്പെട്ടിരിപ്പിന്‍ .
21subjecting yourselves one to another in the fear of Christ.
22ഭാര്യമാരേ, കര്‍ത്താവിന്നു എന്നപോലെ സ്വന്ത ഭര്‍ത്താക്കന്മാര്‍ക്കും കീഴടങ്ങുവിന്‍ .
22Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
23ക്രിസ്തു ശരീരത്തിന്റെ രക്ഷിതാവായി സഭെക്കു തലയാകുന്നതുപോലെ ഭര്‍ത്താവു ഭാര്യകൂ തലയാകുന്നു.
23For the husband is the head of the wife, and Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body.
24എന്നാല്‍ സഭ ക്രിസ്തുവിന്നു കീഴടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നതു പോലെ ഭാര്യമാരും ഭര്‍ത്താക്കന്മാര്‍ക്കും സകലത്തിലും കീഴടങ്ങിയിരിക്കേണം.
24But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything.
25ഭര്‍ത്താക്കന്മാരേ, ക്രിസ്തുവും സഭയെ സ്നേഹിച്ചതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭാര്യമാരെ സ്നേഹിപ്പിന്‍ .
25Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it;
26അവന്‍ അവളെ വചനത്തോടുകൂടിയ ജലസ്നാനത്താല്‍ വെടിപ്പാക്കി വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും
26that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word,
27കറ, ചുളുക്കം മുതലായതു ഒന്നും ഇല്ലാതെ സഭയെ ശുദ്ധയും നിഷ്കളങ്കയുമായി തനിക്കു തന്നേ തേജസ്സോടെ മുന്നിറുത്തേണ്ടതിന്നും തന്നെത്താന്‍ അവള്‍ക്കു വേണ്ടി ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.
27that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
28അവ്വണ്ണം ഭര്‍ത്താക്കന്മാരും തങ്ങളുടെ ഭാര്യമാരെ സ്വന്ത ശരീരങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ സ്നേഹിക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു. ഭാര്യയെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവന്‍ തന്നെത്താന്‍ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു.
28Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself.
29ആരും തന്റെ ജഡത്തെ ഒരുനാളും പകെച്ചിട്ടില്ലല്ലോ; ക്രിസ്തുവും സഭയെ ചെയ്യുന്നതു പോലെ അതിനെ പോറ്റി പുലര്‍ത്തുകയത്രേ ചെയ്യുന്നതു.
29For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly;
30നാം അവന്റെ ശരീരത്തിന്റെ അവയവങ്ങളല്ലോ.
30because we are members of his body, of his flesh and bones.
31അതു നിമിത്തം ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്‍ അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും വിട്ടു ഭാര്യയോടു പറ്റിച്ചേരും; ഇരുവരും ഒരു ദേഹമായിത്തീരും .
31“For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife. The two will become one flesh.” Genesis 2:24
32ഈ മര്‍മ്മം വലിയതു; ഞാന്‍ ക്രിസ്തുവിനെയും സഭയെയും ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചത്രേ പറയുന്നതു. എന്നാല്‍ നിങ്ങളും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ഔരോരുത്തന്‍ താന്താന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ തന്നെപ്പോലെ തന്നേ സ്നേഹിക്കേണം. ഭാര്യയോ ഭര്‍ത്താവിനെ ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടതാകുന്നു.
32This mystery is great, but I speak concerning Christ and of the assembly.
33Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
