¹ഹബക്കൂക്‍ പ്രവാചകന്‍ ദര്‍ശിച്ച പ്രവാചകം.

¹The oracle which Habakkuk the prophet saw.

²യഹോവേ, എത്രത്തോളം ഞാന്‍ അയ്യം വിളിക്കയും നീ കേള്‍ക്കാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യും? സാഹസംനിമിത്തം ഞാന്‍ എത്രത്തോളം നിന്നോടു നിലവിളിക്കയും നീ രക്ഷിക്കാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യും?

² Yahweh, “Yahweh” is God’s proper Name, sometimes rendered “LORD” (all caps) in other translations. how long will I cry, and you will not hear? I cry out to you “Violence!” and will you not save?

³നീ എന്നെ നീതികേടു കാണുമാറാക്കുന്നതും പീഡനം വെറുതെ നോക്കുന്നതും എന്തിനു? കവര്‍ച്ചയും സാഹസവും എന്റെ മുമ്പില്‍ ഉണ്ടു; കലഹം നടക്കുന്നു; ശണ്ഠ ഉളവായി വരും.

³Why do you show me iniquity, and look at perversity? For destruction and violence are before me. There is strife, and contention rises up.

⁴അതുകൊണ്ടു ന്യായപ്രമാണം അയഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; ന്യായം ഒരുനാളും വെളിപ്പെട്ടുവരുന്നതുമില്ല; ദുഷ്ടന്‍ നീതിമാനെ വളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ന്യായം വക്രതയായി വെളിപ്പെട്ടുവരുന്നു.

⁴Therefore the law is paralyzed, and justice never goes forth; for the wicked surround the righteous; therefore justice goes forth perverted.

⁵ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയില്‍ ദൃഷ്ടിവെച്ചു നോക്കുവിന്‍ ! ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു വിസ്മയിപ്പിന്‍ ! ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളുടെ കാലത്തു ഒരു പ്രവൃത്തി ചെയ്യും; അതു വിവരിച്ചുകേട്ടാല്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ വിശ്വസിക്കയില്ല.

⁵“Look among the nations, watch, and wonder marvelously; for I am working a work in your days, which you will not believe though it is told you.

⁶ഞാന്‍ ഉഗ്രതയും വേഗതയുമുള്ള ജാതിയായ കല്ദയരെ ഉണര്‍ത്തും; അവര്‍ തങ്ങളുടേതല്ലാത്ത വാസസ്ഥലങ്ങളെ കൈവശമാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഭൂമണ്ഡലത്തില്‍ നീളെ സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നു.

⁶For, behold, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, that march through the breadth of the earth, to possess dwelling places that are not theirs.

⁷അവര്‍ ഘോരവും ഭയങ്കരവുമായുള്ളവര്‍; അവരുടെ ന്യായവും ശ്രേഷ്ഠതയും അവരില്‍നിന്നു തന്നേ പുറപ്പെടുന്നു.

⁷They are feared and dreaded. Their judgment and their dignity proceed from themselves.

⁸അവരുടെ കുതിരകള്‍ പുള്ളിപ്പുലികളെക്കാള്‍ വേഗതയും വൈകുന്നേരത്തെ ചെന്നായ്ക്കളെക്കാള്‍ ഉഗ്രതയുമുള്ളവ; അവരുടെ കുതിരച്ചേവകര്‍ ഗര്‍വ്വിച്ചോടിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ കുതിരച്ചേവകര്‍ ദൂരത്തുനിന്നു വരുന്നു; തിന്നുവാന്‍ ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്ന കഴുകനെപ്പോലെ അവര്‍ പറന്നു വരുന്നു.

⁸Their horses also are swifter than leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves. Their horsemen press proudly on. Yes, their horsemen come from afar. They fly as an eagle that hurries to devour.

⁹അവര്‍ ഏവരും സംഹാരത്തിന്നായി വരുന്നു; അവരുടെ മുഖം മുമ്പോട്ടു ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നു; അവര്‍ മണല്‍പോലെ ബദ്ധന്മാരെ പിടിച്ചുചേര്‍ക്കുംന്നു.

⁹All of them come for violence. Their hordes face the desert. He gathers prisoners like sand.

¹⁰അവര്‍ രാജാക്കന്മാരെ പരിഹസിക്കുന്നു; പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര്‍ അവര്‍ക്കും ഹാസ്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു; അവര്‍ ഏതു കോട്ടയെയും കുറിച്ചു ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവര്‍ മണ്ണു കുന്നിച്ചു അതിനെ പിടിക്കും.

¹⁰Yes, he scoffs at kings, and princes are a derision to him. He laughs at every stronghold, for he builds up an earthen ramp, and takes it.

¹¹അന്നു അവന്‍ കാറ്റുപോലെ അടിച്ചുകടന്നു അതിക്രമിച്ചു കുറ്റക്കാരനായ്തീരും; സ്വന്തശക്തിയല്ലോ അവന്നു ദൈവം.

¹¹Then he sweeps by like the wind, and goes on. He is indeed guilty, whose strength is his god.”

¹²എന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, നീ പുരാതനമേ എന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധനല്ലയോ? ഞങ്ങള്‍ മരിക്കയില്ല; യഹോവേ, നീ അവനെ ന്യായവിധിക്കായി നിയമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; പാറയായുള്ളോവേ, ശിക്ഷെക്കായി നീ അവനെ നിയോഗിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

¹²Aren’t you from everlasting, Yahweh my God The Hebrew word rendered “God” is “Elohim.” , my Holy One? We will not die. Yahweh, you have appointed him for judgment. You, Rock, have established him to punish.

¹³ദോഷം കണ്ടുകൂടാതവണ്ണം നിര്‍മ്മലദൃഷ്ടിയുള്ളവനും പീഡനം കാണ്മാന്‍ കഴിയാത്തവനുമായുള്ളോവേ, ദ്രോഹം പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നവരെ നീ വെറുതെ നോക്കുന്നതും ദുഷ്ടന്‍ തന്നിലും നീതിമാനായവനെ വിഴുങ്ങുമ്പോള്‍

¹³You who have purer eyes than to see evil, and who cannot look on perversity, why do you tolerate those who deal treacherously, and keep silent when the wicked swallows up the man who is more righteous than he,

¹⁴നീ മിണ്ടാതിരിക്കുന്നതും മനുഷ്യരെ സമുദ്രത്തിലെ മത്സ്യങ്ങളെപ്പോലെയും അധിപതിയില്ലാത്ത ഇഴജാതികളെപ്പോലെയും ആക്കുന്നതും എന്തു?

¹⁴and make men like the fish of the sea, like the creeping things, that have no ruler over them?

¹⁵അവന്‍ അവയെ ഒക്കെയും ചൂണ്ടല്‍കൊണ്ടു പിടിച്ചെടുക്കുന്നു; അവന്‍ വലകൊണ്ടു അവയെ വലിച്ചെടുക്കുന്നു; കോരുവലയില്‍ ചേര്‍ത്തുകൊള്ളുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്‍ സന്തോഷിച്ചാനന്ദിക്കുന്നു.

¹⁵He takes up all of them with the hook. He catches them in his net, and gathers them in his dragnet. Therefore he rejoices and is glad.

¹⁶അതു ഹേതുവായി അവന്‍ തന്റെ വലെക്കു ബലികഴിക്കുന്നു; കോരുവലെക്കു ധൂപം കാട്ടുന്നു; അവയാലല്ലോ അവന്റെ ഔഹരി പുഷ്ടിയുള്ളതും അവന്റെ ആഹാരം പൂര്‍ത്തിയുള്ളതുമായ്തീരുന്നതു.

¹⁶Therefore he sacrifices to his net, and burns incense to his dragnet, because by them his life is luxurious, and his food is good.

¹⁷അതുനിമിത്തം അവന്‍ തന്റെ വല കുടഞ്ഞു, ജാതികളെ ആദരിക്കാതെ നിത്യം കൊല്ലുവാന്‍ പോകുമോ?

¹⁷Will he therefore continually empty his net, and kill the nations without mercy?
