¹ഞാന്‍ കൊത്തളത്തില്‍നിന്നു കാവല്‍കാത്തുകൊണ്ടുഅവന്‍ എന്നോടു എന്തരുളിച്ചെയ്യും എന്നും എന്റെ ആവലാധിസംബന്ധിച്ചു ഞാന്‍ എന്തുത്തരം പറയേണ്ടു എന്നും കാണേണ്ടതിന്നു ദൃഷ്ടിവേക്കും.

¹I will stand at my watch, and set myself on the ramparts, and will look out to see what he will say to me, and what I will answer concerning my complaint.

²യഹോവ എന്നോടു ഉത്തരം അരുളിയതുനീ ദര്‍ശനം എഴുതുക; ഔടിച്ചു വായിപ്പാന്‍ തക്കവണ്ണം അതു പലകയില്‍ തെളിവായി വരെക്കുക.

²Yahweh answered me, “Write the vision, and make it plain on tablets, that he who runs may read it.

³ദര്‍ശനത്തിന്നു ഒരു അവധിവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു സമാപ്തിയിലേക്കു ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നു; സമയം തെറ്റുകയുമില്ല; അതു വൈകിയാലും അതിന്നായി കാത്തിരിക്ക; അതു വരും നിശ്ചയം; താമസിക്കയുമില്ല.

³For the vision is yet for the appointed time, and it hurries toward the end, and won’t prove false. Though it takes time, wait for it; because it will surely come. It won’t delay.

⁴അവന്റെ മനസ്സു അവനില്‍ അഹങ്കരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു നേരുള്ളതല്ല; നീതിമാനോ വിശ്വാസത്താല്‍ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കും.

⁴Behold, his soul is puffed up. It is not upright in him, but the righteous will live by his faith.

⁵വീഞ്ഞു വിശ്വാസപാതകനാകുന്നു; അഹമ്മതിയുള്ള പുരുഷന്‍ നിലനില്‍ക്കയില്ല; അവന്‍ പാതാളംപോലെ വിസ്താരമായി വായ് പിളര്‍ക്കുംന്നു; മരണംപോലെ തൃപ്തിപ്പെടാതെയുമിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്‍ സകലജാതികളെയും തന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ കൂട്ടി, സകലവംശങ്ങളെയും തന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ ചേര്‍ക്കുംന്നു.

⁵Yes, moreover, wine is treacherous. A haughty man who doesn’t stay at home, who enlarges his desire as Sheol Sheol is the place of the dead. , and he is like death, and can’t be satisfied, but gathers to himself all nations, and heaps to himself all peoples.

⁶അവര്‍ ഒക്കെയും അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു ഒരു സദൃശവും അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു പരിഹാസമായുള്ളോരു പഴഞ്ചൊല്ലും ചൊല്ലി; തന്റെതല്ലാത്തതു വര്‍ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കയും--എത്രത്തോളം?--പണയപണ്ടം ചുമന്നു കൂട്ടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന്നു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം എന്നു പറകയില്ലയോ?

⁶Won’t all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against him, and say, ‘Woe to him who increases that which is not his, and who enriches himself by extortion! How long?’

⁷നിന്റെ കടക്കാര്‍ പെട്ടെന്നു എഴുന്നേല്‍ക്കയും നിന്നെ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടിക്കുന്നവര്‍ ഉണരുകയും നീ അവര്‍ക്കും കൊള്ളയായ്തീരുകയും ഇല്ലയോ?

⁷Won’t your debtors rise up suddenly, and wake up those who make you tremble, and you will be their victim?

⁸നീ പലജാതികളോടും കവര്‍ച്ച ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ടു ജാതികളില്‍ ശേഷിപ്പുള്ളവരൊക്കെയും മനുഷ്യരുടെ രക്തംനിമിത്തവും നീ ദേശത്തോടും നഗരത്തോടും അതിന്റെ സകലനിവാസികളോടും ചെയ്ത സാഹസം നിമിത്തവും നിന്നോടും കവര്‍ച്ച ചെയ്യും.

⁸Because you have plundered many nations, all the remnant of the peoples will plunder you, because of men’s blood, and for the violence done to the land, to the city and to all who dwell in it.

⁹അനര്‍ത്ഥത്തില്‍നിന്നു വിടുവിക്കപ്പെടുവാന്‍ തക്കവണ്ണം ഉയരത്തില്‍ കൂടുവെക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്റെ വീട്ടിന്നുവേണ്ടി ദുരാദായം ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവന്നു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

⁹Woe to him who gets an evil gain for his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the hand of evil!

¹⁰പലജാതികളെയും ഛേദിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞതിനാല്‍ നീ നിന്റെ വീട്ടിന്നു ലജ്ജ നിരൂപിച്ചു നിന്റെ സ്വന്ത പ്രാണനോടു പാപം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

¹⁰You have devised shame to your house, by cutting off many peoples, and have sinned against your soul.

¹¹ചുവരില്‍നിന്നു കല്ലു നിലവിളിക്കയും മരപ്പണിയില്‍നിന്നു തുലാം ഉത്തരം പറകയും ചെയ്യുമല്ലോ.

¹¹For the stone will cry out of the wall, and the beam out of the woodwork will answer it.

¹²രക്തപാതകംകൊണ്ടു പട്ടണം പണിയുകയും നീതികേടുകൊണ്ടു നഗരം സ്ഥാപിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന്നു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

¹²Woe to him who builds a town with blood, and establishes a city by iniquity!

¹³ജാതികള്‍ തീക്കു ഇരയാകുവാന്‍ അദ്ധ്വാനിക്കുന്നതും വംശങ്ങള്‍ വെറുതെ തളര്‍ന്നുപോകുന്നതും സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ ഹിതത്താല്‍ അല്ലയോ?

¹³Behold, isn’t it of Yahweh of Armies that the peoples labor for the fire, and the nations weary themselves for vanity?

¹⁴വെള്ളം സമുദ്രത്തില്‍ നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഭൂമി യഹോവയുടെ മഹത്വത്തിന്റെ പരിജ്ഞാനത്താല്‍ പൂര്‍ണ്ണമാകും.

¹⁴For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of Yahweh, as the waters cover the sea.

¹⁵കൂട്ടുകാരുടെ നഗ്നത കാണേണ്ടതിന്നു അവര്‍ക്കും കുടിപ്പാന്‍ കൊടുക്കയും നഞ്ചു കൂട്ടിക്കലര്‍ത്തി ലഹരിപിടിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന്നു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

¹⁵“Woe to him who gives his neighbor drink, pouring your inflaming wine until they are drunk, so that you may gaze at their naked bodies!

¹⁶നിനക്കു മഹത്വംകൊണ്ടല്ല, ലജ്ജകൊണ്ടു തന്നേ പൂര്‍ത്തിവന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; നീയും കുടിക്ക; നിന്റെ അഗ്രചര്‍മ്മം അനാവൃതമാക്കുക; യഹോവയുടെ വലങ്കയ്യിലെ പാനപാത്രം നിന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ വരും; മഹത്വത്തിന്നു പകരം നിനക്കു അവമാനം ഭവിക്കും.

¹⁶You are filled with shame, and not glory. You will also drink, and be exposed! The cup of Yahweh’s right hand will come around to you, and disgrace will cover your glory.

¹⁷മനുഷ്യരുടെ രക്തവും ദേശത്തോടും നഗരത്തോടും അതിന്റെ സകലനിവാസികളോടും ചെയ്ത സാഹസവും ഹേതുവായി ലെബാനോനോടു ചെയ്ത ദ്രോഹവും മൃഗങ്ങളെ പേടിപ്പിച്ച സംഹാരവും നിന്നെ മൂടും.

¹⁷For the violence done to Lebanon will overwhelm you, and the destruction of the animals, which made them afraid; because of men’s blood, and for the violence done to the land, to every city and to those who dwell in them.

¹⁸പണിക്കാരന്‍ ഒരു ബിംബത്തെ കൊത്തിയുണ്ടാക്കുവാന്‍ അതിനാലോ, പണിക്കാരന്‍ വ്യാജം ഉപദേശിക്കുന്ന വാര്‍പ്പുവിഗ്രഹത്തില്‍ ആശ്രയിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു ഊമ മിത്ഥ്യാമൂര്‍ത്തികളെ ഉണ്ടാക്കുവാന്‍ അതിനാലോ എന്തു പ്രയോജനം ഉള്ളു?

¹⁸“What value does the engraved image have, that its maker has engraved it; the molten image, even the teacher of lies, that he who fashions its form trusts in it, to make mute idols?

¹⁹മരത്തോടുഉണരുക എന്നും ഊമക്കല്ലിനോടുഎഴുന്നേല്‍ക്ക എന്നും പറയുന്നവന്നു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം! അതു ഉപദേശിക്കുമോ? അതു പൊന്നും വെള്ളിയും പൊതിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിന്റെ ഉള്ളില്‍ ശ്വാസം ഒട്ടും ഇല്ലല്ലോ.

¹⁹Woe to him who says to the wood, ‘Awake!’ or to the mute stone, ‘Arise!’ Shall this teach? Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in its midst.

²⁰എന്നാല്‍ യഹോവ തന്റെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തില്‍ ഉണ്ടു; സര്‍വ്വ ഭൂമിയും അവന്റെ സന്നിധിയില്‍ മൌനമായിരിക്കട്ടെ.

²⁰But Yahweh is in his holy temple. Let all the earth be silent before him!”
