1അതിന്നു ഇയ്യോബ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്
1Then Job answered,
2എന്റെ വാക്കു ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ കേള്പ്പിന് ; അതു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ആശ്വാസമായിരിക്കട്ടെ.
2“Listen diligently to my speech. Let this be your consolation.
3നില്പിന് , ഞാനും സംസാരിക്കട്ടെ; ഞാന് സംസാരിച്ചു കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു നിനക്കു പരിഹസിക്കാം.
3Allow me, and I also will speak; After I have spoken, mock on.
4ഞാന് സങ്കടം പറയുന്നതു മനുഷ്യനോടോ? എന്റെ ക്ഷമ അറ്റുപോകാതിരിക്കുന്നതെങ്ങനെ?
4As for me, is my complaint to man? Why shouldn’t I be impatient?
5എന്നെ നോക്കി ഭ്രമിച്ചുപോകുവിന് ; കൈകൊണ്ടു വായ്പൊത്തിക്കൊള്വിന് .
5Look at me, and be astonished. Lay your hand on your mouth.
6ഔര്ക്കുംമ്പോള് ഞാന് ഞെട്ടിപ്പോകുന്നു; എന്റെ ദേഹത്തിന്നു വിറയല് പിടിക്കുന്നു.
6When I remember, I am troubled. Horror takes hold of my flesh.
7ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു വാര്ദ്ധക്യം പ്രാപിക്കയും അവര്ക്കും ബലം വര്ദ്ധിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു എന്തു?
7“Why do the wicked live, become old, yes, and grow mighty in power?
8അവരുടെ സന്താനം അവരോടുകൂടെ അവരുടെ മുമ്പിലും അവരുടെ വംശം അവര് കാണ്കെയും ഉറെച്ചു നിലക്കുന്നു.
8Their child is established with them in their sight, their offspring before their eyes.
9അവരുടെ വീടുകള് ഭയം കൂടാതെ സുഖമായിരിക്കുന്നു; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വടി അവരുടെമേല് വരുന്നതുമില്ല.
9Their houses are safe from fear, neither is the rod of God upon them.
10അവരുടെ കാള ഇണചേരുന്നു, നിഷ്ഫലമാകുന്നില്ല; അവരുടെ പശു കിടാവിടുന്നു കരു അഴിയുന്നതുമില്ല.
10Their bulls breed without fail. Their cows calve, and don’t miscarry.
11അവര് കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടത്തെപ്പോലെ പുറത്തയക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ പൈതങ്ങള് നൃത്തം ചെയ്യുന്നു.
11They send forth their little ones like a flock. Their children dance.
12അവര് തപ്പോടും കിന്നരത്തോടുംകൂടെ പാടുന്നു; കുഴലിന്റെ നാദത്തിങ്കല് സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നു.
12They sing to the tambourine and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the pipe.
13അവര് സുഖമായി നാള് കഴിക്കുന്നു; മാത്രകൊണ്ടു പാതാളത്തിലേക്കു ഇറങ്ങുന്നു.
13They spend their days in prosperity. In an instant they go down to Sheol Sheol is the place of the dead. .
14അവര് ദൈവത്തോടുഞങ്ങളെ വിട്ടുപോക; നിന്റെ വഴികളെ അറിവാന് ഞങ്ങള് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ല;
14They tell God, ‘Depart from us, for we don’t want to know about your ways.
15ഞങ്ങള് സര്വ്വശക്തനെ സേവിപ്പാന് അവന് ആര്? അവനോടു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചാല് എന്തു പ്രയോജനം എന്നു പറയുന്നു.
15What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? What profit should we have, if we pray to him?’
16എന്നാല് അവരുടെ ഭാഗ്യം അവര്ക്കും കൈവശമല്ല; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ ആലോചന എന്നോടു അകന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.
16Behold, their prosperity is not in their hand. The counsel of the wicked is far from me.
17ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ വിളകൂ കെട്ടുപോകുന്നതും അവര്ക്കും ആപത്തു വരുന്നതും ദൈവം കോപത്തില് കഷ്ടങ്ങളെ വിഭാഗിച്ചു കൊടുക്കുന്നതും എത്ര പ്രാവശ്യം!
17“How often is it that the lamp of the wicked is put out, that their calamity comes on them, that God distributes sorrows in his anger?
18അവര് കാറ്റിന്നു മുമ്പില് താളടിപോലെയും കൊടുങ്കാറ്റു പറപ്പിക്കുന്ന പതിര്പോലെയും ആകുന്നു.
18How often is it that they are as stubble before the wind, as chaff that the storm carries away?
19ദൈവം അവന്റെ അകൃത്യം അവന്റെ മക്കള്ക്കായി സംഗ്രഹിച്ചുവെക്കുന്നു; അവന് അതു അനുഭവിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന്നു തന്നേ പകരം കൊടുക്കട്ടെ.
19You say, ‘God lays up his iniquity for his children.’ Let him recompense it to himself, that he may know it.
20അവന്റെ സ്വന്ത കണ്ണു അവന്റെ നാശം കാണട്ടെ; അവന് തന്നേ സര്വ്വശക്തന്റെ ക്രോധം കുടിക്കട്ടെ;
20Let his own eyes see his destruction. Let him drink of the wrath of the Almighty.
21അവന്റെ മാസങ്ങളുടെ സംഖ്യ അറ്റുപോയാല് തന്റെശേഷം തന്റെ ഭവനത്തോടു അവനെന്തു താല്പര്യം?
21For what does he care for his house after him, when the number of his months is cut off?
22ആരെങ്കിലും ദൈവത്തിന്നു ബുദ്ധിയുപദേശിക്കുമോ? അവന് ഉന്നതന്മാരെ ന്യായം വിധിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.
22“Shall any teach God knowledge, since he judges those who are high?
23ഒരുത്തന് കേവലം സ്വൈരവും സ്വസ്ഥതയുമുള്ളവനായി തന്റെ പൂര്ണ്ണക്ഷേമത്തില് മരിക്കുന്നു.
23One dies in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet.
24അവന്റെ തൊട്ടികള് പാലുകൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ അസ്ഥികളിലെ മജ്ജ അയഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.
24His pails are full of milk. The marrow of his bones is moistened.
25മറ്റൊരുത്തന് മനോവ്യസനത്തോടെ മരിക്കുന്നു; നന്മയൊന്നും അനുഭവിപ്പാന് ഇടവരുന്നതുമില്ല.
25Another dies in bitterness of soul, and never tastes of good.
26അവര് ഒരുപോലെ പൊടിയില് കിടക്കുന്നു; കൃമി അവരെ മൂടുന്നു.
26They lie down alike in the dust. The worm covers them.
27ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ വിചാരങ്ങളെയും നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ നേരെ നിരൂപിക്കുന്ന ഉപായങ്ങളെയും അറിയുന്നു.
27“Behold, I know your thoughts, the devices with which you would wrong me.
28പ്രഭുവിന്റെ ഭവനം എവിടെ? ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് പാര്ത്ത കൂടാരം എവിടെ എന്നല്ലോ നിങ്ങള് പറയുന്നതു?
28For you say, ‘Where is the house of the prince? Where is the tent in which the wicked lived?’
29വഴിപോക്കരോടു നിങ്ങള് ചോദിച്ചിട്ടില്ലയോ? അവരുടെ അടയാളങ്ങളെ അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ?
29Haven’t you asked wayfaring men? Don’t you know their evidences,
30അനര്ത്ഥദിവസത്തില് ദുഷ്ടന് ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നു; ക്രോധദിവസത്തില് അവര്ക്കും വിടുതല് കിട്ടുന്നു.
30that the evil man is reserved to the day of calamity, That they are led forth to the day of wrath?
31അവന്റെ നടപ്പിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ആര് അവന്റെ മുഖത്തു നോക്കി പറയും? അവന് ചെയ്തതിന്നു തക്കവണ്ണം ആര് അവന്നു പകരം വീട്ടും?
31Who shall declare his way to his face? Who shall repay him what he has done?
32എന്നാലും അവനെ ശ്മശാനത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നു; അവന് കല്ലറെക്കല് കാവല്നിലക്കുന്നു.
32Yet he will be borne to the grave. Men shall keep watch over the tomb.
33താഴ്വരയിലെ കട്ട അവന്നു മധുരമായിരിക്കും; അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ സകലമനുഷ്യരും ചെല്ലും; അവന്നു മുമ്പെ പോയവര്ക്കും എണ്ണമില്ല.
33The clods of the valley shall be sweet to him. All men shall draw after him, as there were innumerable before him.
34നിങ്ങള് വൃഥാ എന്നെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ? നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉത്തരങ്ങളില് കപടം ഉണ്ടല്ലോ.
34So how can you comfort me with nonsense, because in your answers there remains only falsehood?”
