1അതിന്നു ഇയ്യോബ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്
1Then Job answered,
2ഇന്നും എന്റെ സങ്കടം കൊടിയതാകുന്നു; അവന്റെ കൈ എന്റെ ഞരക്കത്തിന്മേല് ഭാരമാകുന്നു.
2“Even today my complaint is rebellious. His hand is heavy in spite of my groaning.
3അവനെ എവിടെ കാണുമെന്നറിഞ്ഞെങ്കില് കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു; അവന്റെ ന്യായാസനത്തിങ്കല് ഞാന് ചെല്ലുമായിരുന്നു.
3Oh that I knew where I might find him! That I might come even to his seat!
4ഞാന് അവന്റെ മുമ്പില് എന്റെ ന്യായം വിവരിക്കുമായിരുന്നു; ന്യായവാദം കോരിച്ചൊരിയുമായിരുന്നു.
4I would set my cause in order before him, and fill my mouth with arguments.
5അവന്റെ ഉത്തരം അറിയാമായിരുന്നു; അവന് എന്തു പറയുമെന്നും ഗ്രഹിക്കാമായിരുന്നു.
5I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would tell me.
6അവന് ബലാധിക്യത്തോടെ എന്നോടു വ്യവഹരിക്കുമോ? ഇല്ല; അവന് എന്നെ ആദരിക്കേയുള്ളു.
6Would he contend with me in the greatness of his power? No, but he would listen to me.
7അവിടെ നേരുള്ളവന് അവനോടു വാദിക്കുമായിരുന്നു; ഞാന് സദാകാലത്തേക്കും എന്റെ ന്യായാധിപന്റെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു രക്ഷപ്പെടുമായിരുന്നു.
7There the upright might reason with him, so I should be delivered forever from my judge.
8ഞാന് കിഴക്കോട്ടു ചെന്നാല് അവന് അവിടെ ഇല്ല; പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ടു ചെന്നാല് അവനെ കാണുകയില്ല.
8“If I go east, he is not there; if west, I can’t find him;
9വടക്കു അവന് പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കയില് നോക്കീട്ടു അവനെ കാണുന്നില്ല; തെക്കോട്ടു അവന് തിരിയുന്നു; അവനെ കാണുന്നില്ലതാനും.
9He works to the north, but I can’t see him. He turns south, but I can’t catch a glimpse of him.
10എന്നാല് ഞാന് നടക്കുന്ന വഴി അവന് അറിയുന്നു; എന്നെ ശോധന കഴിച്ചാല് ഞാന് പൊന്നുപോലെ പുറത്തു വരും.
10But he knows the way that I take. When he has tried me, I shall come forth like gold.
11എന്റെ കാലടി അവന്റെ ചുവടു തുടര്ന്നു ചെല്ലുന്നു; ഞാന് വിട്ടുമാറാതെ അവന്റെ വഴി പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നു.
11My foot has held fast to his steps. I have kept his way, and not turned aside.
12ഞാന് അവന്റെ അധരങ്ങളുടെ കല്പന വിട്ടു പിന്മാറീട്ടില്ല; അവന്റെ വായലിലെ വചനങ്ങളെ എന്റെ ആഹാരത്തെക്കാള് സൂക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
12I haven’t gone back from the commandment of his lips. I have treasured up the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
13അവനോ അനന്യന് ; അവനെ തടുക്കുന്നതു ആര്? തിരുവുള്ളത്തിന്റെ താല്പര്യം അവന് അനുഷ്ഠിക്കും.
13But he stands alone, and who can oppose him? What his soul desires, even that he does.
14എനിക്കു നിയമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു അവന് നിവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നു; ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള പലതും അവന്റെ പക്കല് ഉണ്ടു.
14For he performs that which is appointed for me. Many such things are with him.
15അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് അവന്റെ സാന്നിദ്ധ്യത്തിങ്കല് ഭ്രമിക്കുന്നു; ഔര്ത്തുനോക്കുമ്പോള് ഞാന് അവനെ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നു.
15Therefore I am terrified at his presence. When I consider, I am afraid of him.
16ദൈവം എനിക്കു ധൈര്യക്ഷയം വരുത്തി, സര്വ്വശക്തന് എന്നെ ഭ്രമിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
16For God has made my heart faint. The Almighty has terrified me.
17ഞാന് പരവശനായിരിക്കുന്നതു അന്ധകാരം നിമിത്തമല്ല, കൂരിരുട്ടു എന്റെ മുഖത്തെ മൂടുന്നതുകൊണ്ടുമല്ല.
17Because I was not cut off before the darkness, neither did he cover the thick darkness from my face.
