¹സര്‍വ്വശക്തന്‍ ശിക്ഷാസമയങ്ങളെ നിയമിക്കാത്തതും അവന്റെ ഭക്തന്മാര്‍ അവന്റെ വിസ്താര ദിവസങ്ങളെ കാണാതിരിക്കുന്നതും എന്തു?

¹“Why aren’t times laid up by the Almighty? Why don’t those who know him see his days?

²ചിലര്‍ അതിരുകളെ മാറ്റുന്നു; ചിലര്‍ ആട്ടിന്‍ കൂട്ടത്തെ കവര്‍ന്നു കൊണ്ടുപോയി മേയക്കുന്നു.

²There are people who remove the landmarks. They violently take away flocks, and feed them.

³ചിലര്‍ അനാഥന്മാരുടെ കഴുതയെ കൊണ്ടു പൊയ്ക്കളയുന്നു; ചിലര്‍ വിധവയുടെ കാളയെ പണയംവാങ്ങുന്നു.

³They drive away the donkey of the fatherless, and they take the widow’s ox for a pledge.

⁴ചിലര്‍ സാധുക്കളെ വഴി തെറ്റിക്കുന്നു; ദേശത്തെ എളിയവര്‍ ഒരുപോലെ ഒളിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു.

⁴They turn the needy out of the way. The poor of the earth all hide themselves.

⁵അവര്‍ മരുഭൂമിയിലെ കാട്ടുകഴുതകളെപ്പോലെ ഇര തേടി വേലെക്കു പുറപ്പെടുന്നു; ശൂന്യപ്രദേശം മക്കള്‍ക്കു വേണ്ടി അവര്‍ക്കും ആഹാരം.

⁵Behold, as wild donkeys in the desert, they go forth to their work, seeking diligently for food. The wilderness yields them bread for their children.

⁶അവര്‍ വയലില്‍ അന്യന്റെ പയറ് പറിക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടന്റെ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തില്‍ കാലാ പെറുക്കുന്നു.

⁶They cut their provender in the field. They glean the vineyard of the wicked.

⁷അവര്‍ വസ്ത്രമില്ലാതെ നഗ്നരായി രാത്രി കഴിച്ചുകൂട്ടുന്നു; കുളിരില്‍ അവര്‍ക്കും പുതപ്പും ഇല്ല.

⁷They lie all night naked without clothing, and have no covering in the cold.

⁸അവര്‍ മലകളില്‍ മഴ നനയുന്നു; മറവിടം ഇല്ലായ്കയാല്‍ അവര്‍ പാറയെ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നു.

⁸They are wet with the showers of the mountains, and embrace the rock for lack of a shelter.

⁹ചിലര്‍ മുലകുടിക്കുന്ന അനാഥകൂട്ടികളെ അപഹരിക്കുന്നു; ചിലര്‍ ദരിദ്രനോടു പണയം വാങ്ങുന്നു.

⁹There are those who pluck the fatherless from the breast, and take a pledge of the poor,

¹⁰അവര്‍ വസ്ത്രം കൂടാതെ നഗ്നരായി നടക്കുന്നു; പട്ടിണി കിടന്നുകൊണ്ടു കറ്റ ചുമക്കുന്നു.

¹⁰So that they go around naked without clothing. Being hungry, they carry the sheaves.

¹¹അന്യരുടെ മതിലുകള്‍ക്കകത്തു അവര്‍ ചക്കാട്ടുന്നു; മുന്തരിച്ചകൂ ചവിട്ടുകയും ദാഹിച്ചിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

¹¹They make oil within the walls of these men. They tread wine presses, and suffer thirst.

¹²പട്ടണത്തില്‍ ആളുകള്‍ ഞരങ്ങുന്നു; പട്ടുപോയവരുടെ പ്രാണന്‍ നിലവിളിക്കുന്നു; ദൈവത്തിന്നോ അതില്‍ നീരസം തോന്നുന്നില്ല.

¹²From out of the populous city, men groan. The soul of the wounded cries out, yet God doesn’t regard the folly.

¹³ഇവര്‍ വെളിച്ചത്തോടു മത്സരിക്കുന്നു; അതിന്റെ വഴികളെ അറിയുന്നില്ല; അതിന്റെ പാതകളില്‍ നടക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

¹³“These are of those who rebel against the light. They don’t know its ways, nor stay in its paths.

¹⁴കുലപാതകന്‍ രാവിലെ എഴുന്നേലക്കുന്നു; ദരിദ്രനെയും എളിയവനെയും കൊല്ലുന്നു; രാത്രിയില്‍ കള്ളനായി നടക്കുന്നു.

¹⁴The murderer rises with the light. He kills the poor and needy. In the night he is like a thief.

¹⁵വ്യഭിചാരിയുടെ കണ്ണു അസ്തമാനം കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്‍ മുഖം മറെച്ചു നടന്നു ഒരു കണ്ണും എന്നെ കാണുകയില്ല എന്നു പറയുന്നു.

¹⁵The eye also of the adulterer waits for the twilight, saying, ‘No eye shall see me.’ He disguises his face.

¹⁶ചിലര്‍ ഇരുട്ടത്തു വീടു തുരന്നു കയറുന്നു; പകല്‍ അവര്‍ വാതില്‍ അടെച്ചു പാര്‍ക്കുംന്നു; വെളിച്ചത്തു ഇറങ്ങുന്നതുമില്ല.

¹⁶In the dark they dig through houses. They shut themselves up in the daytime. They don’t know the light.

¹⁷പ്രഭാതം അവര്‍ക്കൊക്കെയും അന്ധതമസ്സു തന്നേ; അന്ധതമസ്സിന്റെ ഘോരത്വങ്ങള്‍ അവര്‍ക്കും പരിചയമുണ്ടല്ലോ.

¹⁷For the morning is to all of them like thick darkness, for they know the terrors of the thick darkness.

¹⁸വെള്ളത്തിന്മേല്‍ അവര്‍ വേഗത്തില്‍ പൊയ്പോകുന്നു; അവരുടെ ഔഹരി ഭൂമിയില്‍ ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടങ്ങളുടെ വഴിക്കു അവര്‍ തിരിയുന്നില്ല.

¹⁸“They are foam on the surface of the waters. Their portion is cursed in the earth. They don’t turn into the way of the vineyards.

¹⁹ഹിമജലം വരള്‍ച്ചെക്കും ഉഷ്ണത്തിന്നും പാപം ചെയ്തവന്‍ പാതാളത്തിന്നും ഇരയാകുന്നു.

¹⁹Drought and heat consume the snow waters, so does Sheol Sheol is the place of the dead. those who have sinned.

²⁰ഗര്‍ഭപാത്രം അവനെ മറന്നുകളയും; കൃമി അവനെ തിന്നു രസിക്കും; പിന്നെ ആരും അവനെ ഔര്‍ക്കയില്ല; നീതികേടു ഒരു വൃക്ഷംപോലെ തകര്‍ന്നു പോകും.

²⁰The womb shall forget him. The worm shall feed sweetly on him. He shall be no more remembered. Unrighteousness shall be broken as a tree.

²¹പ്രസവിക്കാത്ത മച്ചിയെ അവന്‍ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളയുന്നു; വിധവേക്കു നന്മ ചെയ്യുന്നതുമില്ല.

²¹He devours the barren who don’t bear. He shows no kindness to the widow.

²²അവന്‍ തന്റെ ശക്തിയാല്‍ നിഷ്കണ്ടകന്മാരെ നിലനിലക്കുമാറാക്കുന്നു; ജീവനെക്കുറിച്ചു നിരാശപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കെ അവര്‍ എഴുന്നേലക്കുന്നു.

²²Yet God preserves the mighty by his power. He rises up who has no assurance of life.

²³അവന്‍ അവര്‍ക്കും നിര്‍ഭയവാസം നലകുന്നു; അവര്‍ ഉറെച്ചുനിലക്കുന്നു; എങ്കിലും അവന്റെ ദൃഷ്ടി അവരുടെ വഴികളിന്മേല്‍ ഉണ്ടു.

²³God gives them security, and they rest in it. His eyes are on their ways.

²⁴അവര്‍ ഉയര്‍ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; കുറെകഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടോ അവര്‍ ഇല്ല; അവരെ താഴ്ത്തി മറ്റെല്ലാവരെയുംപോലെ നീക്കിക്കളയുന്നു; കതിരുകളുടെ തലപോലെ അവരെ അറുക്കുന്നു.

²⁴They are exalted; yet a little while, and they are gone. Yes, they are brought low, they are taken out of the way as all others, and are cut off as the tops of the ears of grain.

²⁵ഇങ്ങനെയല്ലെങ്കില്‍ എന്നെ കള്ളനാക്കുകയും എന്റെ വാക്കു ഖണ്ഡിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന്‍ ആര്‍?

²⁵If it isn’t so now, who will prove me a liar, and make my speech worth nothing?”
