1അതിന്നു തേമാന്യനായ എലീഫസ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്
1Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered,
2നിന്നോടു സംസാരിപ്പാന് തുനിഞ്ഞാല് നീ മുഷിയുമോ? എന്നാല് വാക്കടക്കുവാന് ആര്ക്കും കഴിയും?
2“If someone ventures to talk with you, will you be grieved? But who can withhold himself from speaking?
3നീ പലരേയും ഉപദേശിച്ചു തളര്ന്ന കൈകളെ ശക്തീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
3Behold, you have instructed many, you have strengthened the weak hands.
4വീഴുന്നവനെ നിന്റെ വാക്കു താങ്ങി കുഴയുന്ന മുഴങ്കാല് നീ ഉറപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
4Your words have supported him who was falling, You have made firm the feeble knees.
5ഇപ്പോള് നിനക്കതു ഭവിച്ചിട്ടു നീ വിഷാദിക്കുന്നു; നിനക്കതു തട്ടീട്ടു നീ ഭ്രമിച്ചുപോകുന്നു.
5But now it has come to you, and you faint. It touches you, and you are troubled.
6നിന്റെ ഭക്തി നിന്റെ ആശ്രയമല്ലയോ? നിന്റെ നടപ്പിന്റെ നിര്മ്മലത നിന്റെ പ്രത്യാശയല്ലയോ?
6Isn’t your piety your confidence? Isn’t the integrity of your ways your hope?
7ഔര്ത്തു നോക്കുകനിര്ദ്ദോഷിയായി നശിച്ചവന് ആര്? നേരുള്ളവര് എവിടെ മുടിഞ്ഞുപോയിട്ടുള്ളു?
7“Remember, now, whoever perished, being innocent? Or where were the upright cut off?
8ഞാന് കണ്ടേടത്തോളം അന്യായം ഉഴുതു കഷ്ടത വിതെക്കുന്നവര് അതു തന്നേ കൊയ്യുന്നു.
8According to what I have seen, those who plow iniquity, and sow trouble, reap the same.
9ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ശ്വാസത്താല് അവര് നശിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ കോപത്തിന്റെ ഊത്തിനാല് മുടിഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നു.
9By the breath of God they perish. By the blast of his anger are they consumed.
10സിംഹത്തിന്റെ ഗര്ജ്ജനവും കേസരിയുടെ നാദവും ബാലസിംഹങ്ങളുടെ ദന്തങ്ങളും അറ്റുപോയി.
10The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, the teeth of the young lions, are broken.
11സിംഹം ഇരയില്ലായ്കയാല് നശിക്കുന്നു; സിംഹിയുടെ കുട്ടികള് ചിതറിപ്പോകുന്നു;
11The old lion perishes for lack of prey. The cubs of the lioness are scattered abroad.
12എന്റെ അടുക്കല് ഒരു ഗൂഢവചനം എത്തി; അതിന്റെ മന്ദസ്വരം എന്റെ ചെവിയില് കടന്നു.
12“Now a thing was secretly brought to me. My ear received a whisper of it.
13മനുഷ്യര്ക്കും ഗാഢനിദ്ര പിടിക്കുന്നേരം രാത്രിദര്ശനങ്ങളാലുള്ള മനോഭാവനകളില് ഭയവും നടുക്കവും എന്നെ പിടിച്ചു.
13In thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on men,
14എന്റെ അസ്ഥികള് ഒക്കെയും കുലുങ്ങിപ്പോയി.
14fear came on me, and trembling, which made all my bones shake.
15ഒരാത്മാവു എന്റെ മുഖത്തിന്നെതിരെ കടന്നു എന്റെ ദേഹത്തിന്നു രോമഹര്ഷം ഭവിച്ചു.
15Then a spirit passed before my face. The hair of my flesh stood up.
16ഒരു പ്രതിമ എന്റെ കണ്ണിന്നെതിരെ നിന്നു; എങ്കിലും അതിന്റെ രൂപം ഞാന് തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞില്ല; മന്ദമായോരു സ്വരം ഞാന് കേട്ടതെന്തെന്നാല്
16It stood still, but I couldn’t discern its appearance. A form was before my eyes. Silence, then I heard a voice, saying,
17മര്ത്യന് ദൈവത്തിലും നീതിമാന് ആകുമോ? നരന് സ്രഷ്ടാവിലും നിര്മ്മലനാകുമോ?
17‘Shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall a man be more pure than his Maker?
18ഇതാ, സ്വദാസന്മാരിലും അവന്നു വിശ്വാസമില്ല; തന്റെ ദൂതന്മാരിലും അവന് കുറ്റം ആരോപിക്കുന്നു.
18Behold, he puts no trust in his servants. He charges his angels with error.
19പൊടിയില്നിന്നുത്ഭവിച്ചു മണ്പുരകളില് പാര്ത്തു പുഴുപോലെ ചതെഞ്ഞു പോകുന്നവരില് എത്ര അധികം!
19How much more, those who dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed before the moth!
20ഉഷസ്സിന്നും സന്ധ്യെക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ അവര് തകര്ന്നു പോകുന്നു; ആരും ഗണ്യമാക്കാതെ അവര് എന്നേക്കും നശിക്കുന്നു.
20Between morning and evening they are destroyed. They perish forever without any regarding it.
21അവരുടെ കൂടാരക്കയറു അറ്റുപോയിട്ടു അവര് ജ്ഞാനഹീനരായി മരിക്കുന്നില്ലയോ?
21Isn’t their tent cord plucked up within them? They die, and that without wisdom.’
