¹അവന്‍ കടന്നുപോകുമ്പോള്‍ പിറവിയിലെ കുരുടനായോരു മനുഷ്യനെ കണ്ടു.

¹As he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth.

²അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര്‍ അവനോടുറബ്ബീ, ഇവന്‍ കുരുടനായി പിറക്കത്തക്കവണ്ണം ആര്‍ പാപം ചെയ്തു? ഇവനോ ഇവന്റെ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാരോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

²His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”

³അതിന്നു യേശുഅവന്‍ എങ്കിലും അവന്റെ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാരെങ്കിലും പാപം ചെയ്തിട്ടല്ല, ദൈവപ്രവൃത്തി അവങ്കല്‍ വെളിവാകേണ്ടതിന്നത്രേ.

³Jesus answered, “Neither did this man sin, nor his parents; but, that the works of God might be revealed in him.

⁴എന്നെ അയച്ചവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തി പകല്‍ ഉള്ളേടത്തോളം നാം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതാകുന്നു; ആര്‍ക്കും പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ചുകൂടാത്ത രാത്രി വരുന്നു;

⁴ I must work the works of him who sent me, while it is day. The night is coming, when no one can work.

⁵ഞാന്‍ ലോകത്തില്‍ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ ലോകത്തിന്റെ വെളിച്ചം ആകുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

⁵ While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”

⁶ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന്‍ നിലത്തു തുപ്പി തുപ്പല്‍കൊണ്ടു ചേറുണ്ടാക്കി ചേറു അവന്റെ കണ്ണിന്മേല്‍ പൂശി

⁶When he had said this, he spat on the ground, made mud with the saliva, anointed the blind man’s eyes with the mud,

⁷നീ ചെന്നു ശിലോഹാംകുളത്തില്‍ കഴുകുക എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു; ശിലോഹാം എന്നതിന്നു അയക്കപ്പെട്ടവന്‍ എന്നര്‍ത്ഥം. അവന്‍ പോയി കഴുകി, കണ്ണു കാണുന്നവനായി മടങ്ങിവന്നു.

⁷and said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which means “Sent”). So he went away, washed, and came back seeing.

⁸അയല്‍ക്കാരും അവനെ മുമ്പെ ഇരക്കുന്നവനായി കണ്ടവരുംഇവനല്ലയോ അവിടെ ഇരുന്നു ഭിക്ഷ യാചിച്ചവന്‍ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

⁸The neighbors therefore, and those who saw that he was blind before, said, “Isn’t this he who sat and begged?”

⁹അവന്‍ തന്നേഎന്നു ചിലരും അല്ല, അവനെപ്പോലെയുള്ളവന്‍ എന്നു മറ്റുചിലരും പറഞ്ഞു; ഞാന്‍ തന്നേ എന്നു അവന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.

⁹Others were saying, “It is he.” Still others were saying, “He looks like him.” He said, “I am he.”

¹⁰അവര്‍ അവനോടുനിന്റെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവന്‍

¹⁰They therefore were asking him, “How were your eyes opened?”

¹¹യേശു എന്നു പേരുള്ള മനുഷ്യന്‍ ചേറുണ്ടാക്കി എന്റെ കണ്ണിന്മേല്‍ പൂശിശിലോഹാംകുളത്തില്‍ ചെന്നു കഴുകുക എന്നു എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞു; ഞാന്‍ പോയി കഴുകി കാഴ്ച പ്രാപിച്ചു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

¹¹He answered, “A man called Jesus made mud, anointed my eyes, and said to me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash.’ So I went away and washed, and I received sight.”

¹²അവന്‍ എവിടെ എന്നു അവര്‍ അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഞാന്‍ അറിയുന്നില്ല എന്നു അവന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.

¹²Then they asked him, “Where is he?” He said, “I don’t know.”

¹³കുരുടനായിരുന്നവനെ അവര്‍ പരീശന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കല്‍ കൊണ്ടുപോയി.

¹³They brought him who had been blind to the Pharisees.

¹⁴യേശു ചേറുണ്ടാക്കി അവന്റെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നതു ശബ്ബത്ത് നാളില്‍ ആയിരുന്നു.

¹⁴It was a Sabbath when Jesus made the mud and opened his eyes.

¹⁵അവന്‍ കാഴ്ച പ്രാപിച്ചതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു പരീശന്മാരും അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു. അവന്‍ അവരോടുഅവന്‍ എന്റെ കണ്ണിന്മേല്‍ ചേറു തേച്ചു ഞാന്‍ കഴുകി; കാഴ്ച പ്രാപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁵Again therefore the Pharisees also asked him how he received his sight. He said to them, “He put mud on my eyes, I washed, and I see.”

¹⁶പരീശന്മാരില്‍ ചിലര്‍ഈ മനുഷ്യന്‍ ശബ്ബത്ത് പ്രമാണിക്കായ്കകൊണ്ടു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍നിന്നു വന്നവനല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. മറ്റു ചിലര്‍പാപിയായോരു മനുഷ്യന്നു ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള അടയാളങ്ങള്‍ ചെയ്‍വാന്‍ എങ്ങനെ കഴിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അങ്ങനെ അവരുടെ ഇടയില്‍ ഒരു ഭിന്നത ഉണ്ടായി.

¹⁶Some therefore of the Pharisees said, “This man is not from God, because he doesn’t keep the Sabbath.” Others said, “How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?” There was division among them.

¹⁷അവര്‍ പിന്നെയും കുരുടനോടുനിന്റെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നതുകൊണ്ടു നീ അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു എന്തു പറയുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഅവന്‍ ഒരു പ്രവാചകന്‍ എന്നു അവന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁷Therefore they asked the blind man again, “What do you say about him, because he opened your eyes?” He said, “He is a prophet.”

¹⁸കാഴ്ചപ്രാപിച്ചവന്റെ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാരെ വിളിച്ചു ചോദിക്കുവോളം അവന്‍ കുരുടനായിരുന്നു എന്നും കാഴ്ച പ്രാപിച്ചു എന്നും യെഹൂദന്മാര്‍ വിശ്വസിച്ചില്ല.

¹⁸The Jews therefore did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and had received his sight, until they called the parents of him who had received his sight,

¹⁹കുരുടനായി ജനിച്ചു എന്നു നിങ്ങള്‍ പറയുന്ന നിങ്ങളുടെ മകന്‍ ഇവന്‍ തന്നെയോ? എന്നാല്‍ അവന്നു ഇപ്പോള്‍ കണ്ണു കാണുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു അവര്‍ അവരോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

¹⁹and asked them, “Is this your son, whom you say was born blind? How then does he now see?”

²⁰അവന്റെ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാര്‍ഇവന്‍ ഞങ്ങളുടെ മകന്‍ എന്നും കുരുടനായി ജനിച്ചവന്‍ എന്നും ഞങ്ങള്‍ അറിയുന്നു.

²⁰His parents answered them, “We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind;

²¹എന്നാല്‍ കണ്ണു കാണുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു അറിയുന്നില്ല; അവന്റെ കണ്ണു ആര്‍ തുറന്നു എന്നും അറിയുന്നില്ല; അവനോടു ചോദിപ്പിന്‍ ; അവന്നു പ്രായം ഉണ്ടല്ലോ അവന്‍ തന്നേ പറയും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

²¹but how he now sees, we don’t know; or who opened his eyes, we don’t know. He is of age. Ask him. He will speak for himself.”

²²യെഹൂദന്മാരെ ഭയപ്പെടുകകൊണ്ടത്രേ അവന്റെ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാര്‍ ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞതു; അവനെ ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു ഏറ്റുപറയുന്നവന്‍ പള്ളിഭ്രഷ്ടനാകേണം എന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാര്‍ തമ്മില്‍ പറഞ്ഞൊത്തിരുന്നു

²²His parents said these things because they feared the Jews; for the Jews had already agreed that if any man would confess him as Christ, he would be put out of the synagogue.

²³അതുകൊണ്ടത്രേ അവന്റെ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാര്‍അവന്നു പ്രായം ഉണ്ടല്ലോ; അവനോടു ചോദിപ്പിന്‍ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതു.

²³Therefore his parents said, “He is of age. Ask him.”

²⁴കുരുടനായിരുന്ന മനുഷ്യനെ അവര്‍ രണ്ടാമതും വിളിച്ചുദൈവത്തിന്നു മഹത്വം കൊടുക്ക; ആ മനുഷ്യന്‍ പാപി എന്നു ഞങ്ങള്‍ അറിയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁴So they called the man who was blind a second time, and said to him, “Give glory to God. We know that this man is a sinner.”

²⁵അതിന്നു അവന്‍ അവന്‍ പാപിയോ അല്ലയോ എന്നു ഞാന്‍ അറിയുന്നില്ല; ഒന്നു അറിയുന്നു; ഞാന്‍ കുരുടനായിരുന്നു, ഇപ്പോള്‍ കണ്ണു കാണുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁵He therefore answered, “I don’t know if he is a sinner. One thing I do know: that though I was blind, now I see.”

²⁶അവര്‍ അവനോടുഅവന്‍ നിനക്കു എന്തു ചെയ്തു? നിന്റെ കണ്ണു എങ്ങനെ തുറന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

²⁶They said to him again, “What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?”

²⁷അതിന്നു അവന്‍ ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ; നിങ്ങള്‍ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചില്ല; വീണ്ടും കേള്‍പ്പാന്‍ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കും അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര്‍ ആകുവാന്‍ മനസ്സുണ്ടോ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁷He answered them, “I told you already, and you didn’t listen. Why do you want to hear it again? You don’t also want to become his disciples, do you?”

²⁸അപ്പോള്‍ അവര്‍ അവനെ ശകാരിച്ചുനീ അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്‍ ; ഞങ്ങള്‍ മോശെയുടെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര്‍.

²⁸They insulted him and said, “You are his disciple, but we are disciples of Moses.

²⁹മോശെയോടു ദൈവം സംസാരിച്ചു എന്നു ഞങ്ങള്‍ അറിയുന്നു; ഇവനോ എവിടെനിന്നു എന്നു അറിയുന്നില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁹We know that God has spoken to Moses. But as for this man, we don’t know where he comes from.”

³⁰ആ മനുഷ്യന്‍ അവരോടുഎന്റെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നിട്ടും അവന്‍ എവിടെനിന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള്‍ അറിയാത്തതു ആശ്ചയ്യം.

³⁰The man answered them, “How amazing! You don’t know where he comes from, yet he opened my eyes.

³¹പാപികളുടെ പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥന ദൈവം കേള്‍ക്കുന്നില്ല എന്നും ദൈവഭക്തനായിരുന്നു അവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം ചെയ്യുന്നവന്റെ പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥന കേള്‍ക്കുന്നു എന്നും നാം അറിയുന്നു.

³¹We know that God doesn’t listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshipper of God, and does his will, he listens to him. Psalm 66:18, Proverbs 15:29; 28:9

³²കുരുടനായി പിറന്നവന്റെ കണ്ണു ആരെങ്കിലും തുറന്നപ്രകാരം ലോകം ഉണ്ടായതുമുതല്‍ കേട്ടിട്ടില്ല.

³²Since the world began it has never been heard of that anyone opened the eyes of someone born blind.

³³ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍നിന്നു വന്നവന്‍ അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ അവന്നു ഒന്നും ചെയ്‍വാന്‍ കഴികയില്ല എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

³³If this man were not from God, he could do nothing.”

³⁴അവര്‍ അവനോടുനീ മുഴുവനും പാപത്തില്‍ പിറന്നവന്‍ ; നീ ഞങ്ങളെ ഉപദേശിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ പുറത്താക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

³⁴They answered him, “You were altogether born in sins, and do you teach us?” They threw him out.

³⁵അവനെ പുറത്താക്കി എന്നു യേശു കേട്ടു; അവനെ കണ്ടപ്പോള്‍നീ ദൈവപുത്രനില്‍ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

³⁵Jesus heard that they had thrown him out, and finding him, he said, “Do you believe in the Son of God?”

³⁶അതിന്നു അവന്‍ യജമാനനേ, അവന്‍ ആര്‍ ആകുന്നു? ഞാന്‍ അവനില്‍ വിശ്വസിക്കാം എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

³⁶He answered, “Who is he, Lord, that I may believe in him?”

³⁷യേശു അവനോടുനീ അവനെ കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ടു; നിന്നോടു സംസാരിക്കുന്നവന്‍ അവന്‍ തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

³⁷Jesus said to him, “You have both seen him, and it is he who speaks with you.”

³⁸ഉടനെ അവന്‍ കര്‍ത്താവേ, ഞാന്‍ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

³⁸He said, “Lord, I believe!” and he worshiped him.

³⁹കാണാത്തവര്‍ കാണ്മാനും കാണുന്നവര്‍ കുരുടര്‍ ആവാനും ഇങ്ങനെ ന്യായവിധിക്കായി ഞാന്‍ ഇഹലോകത്തില്‍ വന്നു എന്നു യേശു പറഞ്ഞു.

³⁹Jesus said, “I came into this world for judgment, that those who don’t see may see; and that those who see may become blind.”

⁴⁰അവനോടുകൂടെയുള്ള ചില പരീശന്മാര്‍ ഇതു കേട്ടിട്ടു ഞങ്ങളും കുരുടരോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

⁴⁰Those of the Pharisees who were with him heard these things, and said to him, “Are we also blind?”

⁴¹യേശു അവരോടു നിങ്ങള്‍ കുരുടര്‍ ആയിരുന്നു എങ്കില്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു പാപം ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു; എന്നാല്‍ഞങ്ങള്‍ കാണുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള്‍ പറയുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളുടെ പാപം നിലക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

⁴¹Jesus said to them, “If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, ‘We see.’ Therefore your sin remains.
