1ദൈവപുത്രനായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ സുവിശേഷത്തിന്റെ ആരംഭം
1The beginning of the Good News of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
2“ഞാന്‍ നിനക്കു മുമ്പായി എന്റെ ദൂതനെ അയക്കുന്നു; അവന്‍ നിന്റെ വഴി ഒരുക്കും.
2As it is written in the prophets, “Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you. Malachi 3:1
3കര്‍ത്താവിന്റെ വഴി ഒരുക്കുവിന്‍ അവന്റെ പാത നിരപ്പാക്കുവിന്‍ എന്നു മരുഭൂമിയില്‍ വിളിച്ചുപറയുന്നവന്റെ വാക്കു” എന്നിങ്ങനെ യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന്റെ പുസ്തകത്തില്‍ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ യോഹന്നാന്‍ വന്നു
3The voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make ready the way of the Lord! Make his paths straight!’” Isaiah 40:3
4മരുഭൂമിയില്‍ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിച്ചും പാപമോചനത്തിന്നായുള്ള മാനസാന്തര സ്നാനം പ്രസംഗിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. അവന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ യെഹൂദ്യദേശം ഒക്കെയും യെരൂശലേമ്യര്‍ എല്ലാവരും വന്നു പാപങ്ങളെ ഏറ്റു പറഞ്ഞു യോര്‍ദ്ദാന്‍ നദിയില്‍ അവനാല്‍ സ്നാനം കഴിഞ്ഞു.
4John came baptizing or, immersing in the wilderness and preaching the baptism of repentance for forgiveness of sins.
5യോഹന്നാനോ ഒട്ടക രോമംകൊണ്ടുള്ള ഉടുപ്പും അരയില്‍ തോല്‍ വാറും ധരിച്ചും വെട്ടുക്കിളിയും കാട്ടുതേനും ഉപജീവിച്ചും പോന്നു.
5All the country of Judea and all those of Jerusalem went out to him. They were baptized by him in the Jordan river, confessing their sins.
6എന്നിലും ബലമേറിയവന്‍ എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരുന്നു; അവന്റെ ചെരിപ്പിന്റെ വാറു കുനിഞ്ഞഴിപ്പാന്‍ ഞാന്‍ യോഗ്യനല്ല.
6John was clothed with camel’s hair and a leather belt around his waist. He ate locusts and wild honey.
7ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളെ വെള്ളത്തില്‍ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; അവനോ നിങ്ങളെ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവില്‍ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കും എന്നു അവന്‍ പ്രസംഗിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.
7He preached, saying, “After me comes he who is mightier than I, the thong of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and loosen.
8ആ കാലത്തു യേശു ഗലീലയിലെ നസറെത്തില്‍ നിന്നു വന്നു യോഹന്നാനാല്‍ യോര്‍ദ്ദാനില്‍ സ്നാനം കഴിഞ്ഞു.
8I baptized you in The Greek word (en) translated here as “in” could also be translated as “with” in some contexts. water, but he will baptize you in the Holy Spirit.”
9വെള്ളത്തില്‍ നിന്നു കയറിയ ഉടനെ ആകാശം പിളരുന്നതും ആത്മാവു പ്രാവുപോലെ തന്റെ മേല്‍ വരുന്നതും കണ്ടു
9It happened in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
10നീ എന്റെ പ്രിയപുത്രന്‍ ; നിന്നില്‍ ഞാന്‍ പ്രസാദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു സ്വര്‍ഗ്ഗത്തില്‍ നിന്നു ഒരു ശബ്ദവും ഉണ്ടായി.
10Immediately coming up from the water, he saw the heavens parting, and the Spirit descending on him like a dove.
11അനന്തരം ആത്മാവു അവനെ മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കു പോകുവാന്‍ നിര്‍ബന്ധിച്ചു.
11A voice came out of the sky, “You are my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
12അവിടെ അവന്‍ സാത്താനാല്‍ പരീക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടു നാല്പതു ദിവസം മരുഭൂമിയില്‍ കൂട്ടു മൃഗങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ആയിരുന്നു; ദൂതന്മാര്‍ അവനെ ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ചു പോന്നു.
12Immediately the Spirit drove him out into the wilderness.
13എന്നാല്‍ യോഹന്നാന്‍ തടവില്‍ ആയശേഷം യേശു ഗലീലയില്‍ ചെന്നു ദൈവ രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ സുവിശേഷം പ്രസംഗിച്ചു
13He was there in the wilderness forty days tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals; and the angels were serving him.
14കാലം തികഞ്ഞു ദൈവരാജ്യം സമീപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; മാനസാന്തരപ്പെട്ടു സുവിശേഷത്തില്‍ വിശ്വസിപ്പിന്‍ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
14Now after John was taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the Good News of the Kingdom of God,
15അവന്‍ ഗലീലക്കടല്പുറത്തു നടക്കുമ്പോള്‍ ശീമോനും അവന്റെ സഹോദരനായ അന്ത്രെയാസും കടലില്‍ വല വീശുന്നതു കണ്ടു; അവര്‍ മീന്‍ പിടിക്കുന്നവര്‍ ആയിരുന്നു.
15and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand! Repent, and believe in the Good News.”
16യേശു അവരോടുഎന്നെ അനുഗമിപ്പിന്‍ ; ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളെ മുനഷ്യരെ പിടിക്കുന്നവരാക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
16Passing along by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew the brother of Simon casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.
17ഉടനെ അവര്‍ വല വിട്ടു അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.
17Jesus said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you into fishers for men.”
18അവിടെ നിന്നു അല്പം മുന്നോട്ടു ചെന്നപ്പോള്‍ സെബെദിയുടെ മകനായ യാക്കോബും അവന്റെ സഹോദരനായ യോഹന്നാനും പടകില്‍ ഇരുന്നു വല നന്നാക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.
18Immediately they left their nets, and followed him.
19ഉടനെ അവരെയും വിളിച്ചു; അവര്‍ അപ്പനായ സെബെദിയെ കൂലിക്കാരോടുകൂടെ പടകില്‍ വിട്ടു അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.
19Going on a little further from there, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John, his brother, who were also in the boat mending the nets.
20അവര്‍ കഫര്‍ന്നഹൂമിലേക്കു പോയി; ശബ്ബത്തില്‍ അവന്‍ പള്ളിയില്‍ ചെന്നു ഉപദേശിച്ചു.
20Immediately he called them, and they left their father, Zebedee, in the boat with the hired servants, and went after him.
21അവന്റെ ഉപദേശത്തിങ്കല്‍ അവര്‍ വിസ്മയിച്ചു; അവന്‍ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരെപ്പോലെയല്ല, അധികാരമുള്ളവനായിട്ടത്രേ അവരെ ഉപദേശിച്ചതു.
21They went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath day he entered into the synagogue and taught.
22അവരുടെ പള്ളിയില്‍ അശുദ്ധാത്മാവുള്ള ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്‍ ണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവന്‍ നിലവിളിച്ചു
22They were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as having authority, and not as the scribes.
23നസറായനായ യേശുവേ, ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കും നിനക്കും തമ്മില്‍ എന്തു? ഞങ്ങളെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാന്‍ വന്നുവോ? നീ ആര്‍ എന്നു ഞാന്‍ അറിയുന്നു; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പിരിശുദ്ധന്‍ തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
23Immediately there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out,
24യേശു അതിനെ ശാസിച്ചുമിണ്ടരുതു; അവനെ വിട്ടു പോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
24saying, “Ha! What do we have to do with you, Jesus, you Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are: the Holy One of God!”
25അപ്പോള്‍ അശുദ്ധാത്മാവു അവനെ ഇഴെച്ചു, ഉറക്കെ നിലവിളിച്ചു അവനെ വിട്ടു പോയി.
25Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!”
26എല്ലാവരും ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടുഇതെന്തു? ഒരു പുതിയ ഉപദേശം; അവന്‍ അധികാരത്തോടെ അശുദ്ധാത്മാക്കളോടും കല്പിക്കുന്നു; അവ അവനെ അനുസരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറങ്ങു തമ്മില്‍ വാദിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
26The unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him.
27അവന്റെ ശ്രുതി വേഗത്തില്‍ ഗലീലനോടു എങ്ങും പരന്നു.
27They were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is this? A new teaching? For with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him!”
28അനന്തരം അവര്‍ പള്ളിയില്‍ നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങി യാക്കോബും യോഹന്നാനുമായി ശിമോന്റെയും അന്ത്രെയാസിന്റെയും വീട്ടില്‍ വന്നു.
28The report of him went out immediately everywhere into all the region of Galilee and its surrounding area.
29അവിടെ ശിമോന്റെ അമ്മാവിയമ്മ പനിപിടിച്ചു കിടന്നിരുന്നു; അവര്‍ അവളെക്കുറിച്ചു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
29Immediately, when they had come out of the synagogue, they came into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
30അവന്‍ അടുത്തു ചെന്നു അവളെ കൈകൂപിടിച്ചു എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു; പനി അവളെ വിട്ടുമാറി, അവള്‍ അവരെ ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ചു.
30Now Simon’s wife’s mother lay sick with a fever, and immediately they told him about her.
31വൈകുന്നേരം സൂര്യന്‍ അസ്തമിച്ചശേഷം അവര്‍ സകലവിധദീനക്കാരെയും ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തരെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.
31He came and took her by the hand, and raised her up. The fever left her, and she served them.
32പട്ടണം ഒക്കെയും വാതില്‍ക്കല്‍ വന്നു കൂടിയിരുന്നു.
32At evening, when the sun had set, they brought to him all who were sick, and those who were possessed by demons.
33നാനവ്യാധികളാല്‍ വലഞ്ഞിരുന്ന അനേകരെ അവന്‍ സൌഖ്യമാക്കി, അനേകം ഭൂതങ്ങളെയും പുറത്താക്കി; ഭൂതങ്ങള്‍ അവനെ അറികകൊണ്ടു സംസാരിപ്പാന്‍ അവയെ സമ്മതിച്ചില്ല.
33All the city was gathered together at the door.
34അതികാലത്തു ഇരുട്ടോടെ അവന്‍ എഴുന്നേറ്റു പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഒരു നിര്‍ജ്ജനസ്ഥലത്തു ചെന്നു പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥിച്ചു.
34He healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons. He didn’t allow the demons to speak, because they knew him.
35ശിമോനും കൂടെയുള്ളവരും അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു,
35Early in the morning, while it was still dark, he rose up and went out, and departed into a deserted place, and prayed there.
36അവനെ കണ്ടപ്പോള്‍എല്ലാവരും നിന്നെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
36Simon and those who were with him followed after him;
37അവന്‍ അവരോടുഞാന്‍ അടുത്ത ഊരുകളിലും പ്രസംഗിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നാം അവിടേക്കു പോക; ഇതിന്നായിട്ടല്ലോ ഞാന്‍ പുറപ്പെട്ടു വന്നിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
37and they found him, and told him, “Everyone is looking for you.”
38അങ്ങനെ അവന്‍ ഗലീലയില്‍ ഒക്കെയും അവരുടെ പള്ളികളില്‍ ചെന്നു പ്രസംഗിക്കയും ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
38He said to them, “Let’s go elsewhere into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because I came out for this reason.”
39ഒരു കുഷ്ഠരോഗി അവന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ വന്നു മുട്ടുകുത്തിനിനക്കു മനസ്സുണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ എന്നെ ശുദ്ധമാക്കുവാന്‍ കഴിയും എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.
39He went into their synagogues throughout all Galilee, preaching and casting out demons.
40യേശു മനസ്സലിഞ്ഞു കൈ നീട്ടി അവനെ തൊട്ടു
40A leper came to him, begging him, kneeling down to him, and saying to him, “If you want to, you can make me clean.”
41മനസ്സുണ്ടു, ശുദ്ധമാക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ ഉടനെ കുഷ്ഠം വിട്ടുമാറി അവന്നു ശുദ്ധിവന്നു.
41Being moved with compassion, he stretched out his hand, and touched him, and said to him, “I want to. Be made clean.”
42യേശു അവനെ അമര്‍ച്ചയായി ശാസിച്ചു
42When he had said this, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was made clean.
43നോകൂ, ആരോടും ഒന്നും പറയരുതു; എന്നാല്‍ ചെന്നു പുരോഹിതന്നു നിന്നെത്തന്നേ കാണിച്ചു, നിന്റെ ശുദ്ധീകരണത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി മോശെ കല്പിച്ചതു അവര്‍ക്കും സാക്ഷ്യത്തിന്നായി അര്‍പ്പിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ വിട്ടയച്ചു.
43He strictly warned him, and immediately sent him out,
44അവനോ പുറപ്പെട്ടു വളരെ ഘോഷിപ്പാനും വസ്തുത പ്രസംഗിപ്പാനും തുടങ്ങി; അതിനാല്‍ യേശുവിന്നു പരസ്യമായി പട്ടണത്തില്‍ കടപ്പാന്‍ കഴിയായ്കകൊണ്ടു അവന്‍ പുറത്തു നിര്‍ജ്ജനസ്ഥലങ്ങളില്‍ പാര്‍ത്തു; എല്ലാടത്തു നിന്നും ആളുകള്‍ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ വന്നു കൂടി.
44and said to him, “See you say nothing to anybody, but go show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing the things which Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.”
45But he went out, and began to proclaim it much, and to spread about the matter, so that Jesus could no more openly enter into a city, but was outside in desert places: and they came to him from everywhere.
