¹ശബ്ബത്തു കഴിഞ്ഞു ആഴ്ചവട്ടത്തിന്റെ ഒന്നാം ദിവസം വെളുക്കുമ്പോള്‍ മഗ്ദലക്കാരത്തി മറിയയും മറ്റെ മറിയയും കല്ലറ കാണ്മാന്‍ ചെന്നു.

¹Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.

²പെട്ടെന്നു വലിയോരു ഭൂകമ്പം ഉണ്ടായി; കര്‍ത്താവിന്റെ ദൂതന്‍ സ്വര്‍ഗ്ഗത്തില്‍ നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവന്നു, കല്ലു ഉരുട്ടിനീക്കി അതിന്മേല്‍ ഇരുന്നിരുന്നു.

²Behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from the sky, and came and rolled away the stone from the door, and sat on it.

³അവന്റെ രൂപം മിന്നലിന്നു ഒത്തതും അവന്റെ ഉടുപ്പു ഹിമം പോലെ വെളുത്തതും ആയിരുന്നു.

³His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow.

⁴കാവല്‍ക്കാര്‍ അവനെ കണ്ടു പേടിച്ചു വിറെച്ചു മരിച്ചവരെപ്പോലെ ആയി.

⁴For fear of him, the guards shook, and became like dead men.

⁵ദൂതന്‍ സ്ത്രീകളോടുഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; ക്രൂശിക്കപ്പെട്ട യേശുവിനെ നിങ്ങള്‍ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞാന്‍ അറിയുന്നു;

⁵The angel answered the women, “Don’t be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus, who has been crucified.

⁶അവന്‍ ഇവിടെ ഇല്ല; താന്‍ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ഉയിര്‍ത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റു; അവന്‍ കിടന്ന സ്ഥലം വന്നുകാണ്മിന്‍

⁶He is not here, for he has risen, just like he said. Come, see the place where the Lord was lying.

⁷അവന്‍ മരിച്ചവരുടെ ഇടയില്‍നിന്നു ഉയിര്‍ത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റു എന്നു വേഗം ചെന്നു അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു പറവിന്‍ ; അവന്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു മുമ്പെ ഗലീലെക്കു പോകുന്നു; അവിടെ നിങ്ങള്‍ അവനെ കാണും; ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

⁷Go quickly and tell his disciples, ‘He has risen from the dead, and behold, he goes before you into Galilee; there you will see him.’ Behold, I have told you.”

⁸അങ്ങനെ അവര്‍ വേഗത്തില്‍ ഭയത്തോടും മഹാസന്തോഷത്തോടും കൂടി കല്ലറ വിട്ടു അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു അറിയിപ്പാന്‍ ഔടിപ്പോയി. എന്നാല്‍ യേശു അവരെ എതിരെറ്റു

⁸They departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring his disciples word.

⁹“നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു വന്ദനം” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അവര്‍ അടുത്തുചെന്നു അവന്റെ കാല്‍ പിടിച്ചു അവനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

⁹As they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, “Rejoice!” They came and took hold of his feet, and worshiped him.

¹⁰യേശു അവരോടു“ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ട; നിങ്ങള്‍ പോയി എന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരോടു ഗലീലെക്കു പോകുവാന്‍ പറവിന്‍ ; അവിടെ അവര്‍ എന്നെ കാണും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁰Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Go tell my brothers The word for “brothers” here may be also correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.” that they should go into Galilee, and there they will see me.”

¹¹അവര്‍ പോകുമ്പോള്‍ കാവല്‍ക്കൂട്ടത്തില്‍ ചിലര്‍ നഗരത്തില്‍ ചെന്നു സംഭവിച്ചതു എല്ലാം മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരോടു അറിയിച്ചു.

¹¹Now while they were going, behold, some of the guards came into the city, and told the chief priests all the things that had happened.

¹²അവര്‍ ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടി മൂപ്പന്മാരുമായി ആലോചനകഴിച്ചിട്ടു പടയാളികള്‍ക്കു വേണ്ടുവോളം പണം കൊടുത്തു;

¹²When they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave a large amount of silver to the soldiers,

¹³അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര്‍ രാത്രിയില്‍ വന്നു ഞങ്ങള്‍ ഉറങ്ങുമ്പോള്‍ അവനെ കട്ടുകൊണ്ടുപോയി എന്നു പറവിന്‍ .

¹³saying, “Say that his disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.

¹⁴വസ്തുത നാടുവാഴിയുടെ സന്നിധാനത്തില്‍ എത്തി എങ്കിലോ ഞങ്ങള്‍ അവനെ സമ്മതിപ്പിച്ചു നിങ്ങളെ നിര്‍ഭയരാക്കിക്കൊള്ളാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁴If this comes to the governor’s ears, we will persuade him and make you free of worry.”

¹⁵അവര്‍ പണം വാങ്ങി ഉപദേശപ്രകാരം ചെയ്തു; ഈ കഥ ഇന്നുവരെ യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില്‍ പരക്കെ നടപ്പായിരിക്കുന്നു.

¹⁵So they took the money and did as they were told. This saying was spread abroad among the Jews, and continues until this day.

¹⁶എന്നാല്‍ പതിനൊന്നു ശിഷ്യന്മാര്‍ ഗലീലയില്‍ യേശു അവരോടു കല്പിച്ചിരുന്ന മലെക്കു പോയി.

¹⁶But the eleven disciples went into Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had sent them.

¹⁷അവനെ കണ്ടപ്പോള്‍ അവര്‍ നമസ്കരിച്ചു; ചിലരോ സംശയിച്ചു.

¹⁷When they saw him, they bowed down to him, but some doubted.

¹⁸യേശു അടുത്തുചെന്നു“സ്വര്‍ഗ്ഗത്തിലും ഭൂമിയിലും സകല അധികാരവും എനിക്കു നല്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

¹⁸Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.

¹⁹ആകയാല്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ പുറപ്പെട്ടു, പിതാവിന്റെയും പുത്രന്റെയും പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിന്റെയും നാമത്തില്‍ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിച്ചും ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചതു ഒക്കെയും പ്രമാണിപ്പാന്‍ തക്കവണ്ണം ഉപദേശിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു” സകലജാതികളെയും ശിഷ്യരാക്കിക്കൊള്‍വിന്‍ ; ഞാനോ ലോകാവസാനത്തോളം എല്ലാനാളും നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

¹⁹ Go, TR and NU add “therefore” and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

²⁰ teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
