¹അനന്തരം യെരൂശലേമില്‍നിന്നു പരീശന്മാരും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ വന്നു

¹Then Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem, saying,

²നിന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര്‍ പൂര്‍വന്മാരുടെ സന്പ്രദായം ലംഘിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? അവര്‍ ഭക്ഷിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ കൈ കഴുകുന്നില്ലല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു

²“Why do your disciples disobey the tradition of the elders? For they don’t wash their hands when they eat bread.”

³അവന്‍ അവരോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു“നിങ്ങളുടെ സന്പ്രദായംകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങള്‍ ദൈവകല്പന ലംഘിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു?

³He answered them, “Why do you also disobey the commandment of God because of your tradition?

⁴അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും ബഹുമാനിക്ക എന്നും അപ്പനെയോ അമ്മയെയോ ദുഷിക്കുന്നവന്‍ മരിക്കേണം എന്നും ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചുവല്ലോ.

⁴ For God commanded, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ Exodus 20:12; Deuteronomy 5:16 and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.’ Exodus 21:17; Leviticus 20:9

⁵നിങ്ങളോ ഒരുത്തന്‍ അപ്പനോടു എങ്കിലും അമ്മയോടു എങ്കിലുംനിനക്കു എന്നാല്‍ ഉപകാരമായി വരേണ്ടതു വഴിപാടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല്‍

⁵ But you say, ‘Whoever may tell his father or his mother, “Whatever help you might otherwise have gotten from me is a gift devoted to God,”

⁶അവന്‍ അപ്പനെ ബഹുമാനിക്കേണ്ടാ എന്നു പറയുന്നു; ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ സന്പ്രദായത്താല്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ ദൈവവചനത്തെ ദുര്‍ബ്ബലമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

⁶ he shall not honor his father or mother.’ You have made the commandment of God void because of your tradition.

⁷കപടഭക്തിക്കാരേ, നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു യെശയ്യാവു:”

⁷ You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,

⁸"ഈ ജനം അധരം കൊണ്ടു എന്നെ ബഹുമാനിക്കുന്നു; എങ്കിലും അവരുടെ ഹൃദയം എന്നെ വിട്ടു അകന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

⁸ ‘These people draw near to me with their mouth, and honor me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

⁹മാനുഷകല്പനകളായ ഉപദേശങ്ങളെ അവര്‍ പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു എന്നെ വ്യര്‍ത്ഥമായി ഭജിക്കുന്നു" “എന്നിങ്ങനെ പ്രവചിച്ചതു ഒത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.”

⁹ And in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrine rules made by men.’” Isaiah 29:13

¹⁰പിന്നെ അവന്‍ പുരുഷാരത്തെ അരികെ വിളിച്ചു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു“കേട്ടു ഗ്രഹിച്ചു കൊള്‍വിന്‍ .

¹⁰He summoned the multitude, and said to them, “Hear, and understand.

¹¹മനുഷ്യന്നു അശുദ്ധിവരുത്തുന്നതു വായിക്കകത്തു ചെല്ലുന്നതു അല്ല, വായില്‍ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുന്നതത്രേ; അതു മനുഷ്യനെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കുന്നു.”

¹¹ That which enters into the mouth doesn’t defile the man; but that which proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man.”

¹²അപ്പോള്‍ ശിഷ്യന്മാര്‍ അടുക്കെ വന്നുപരീശന്മാര്‍ ഈ വാക്കു കേട്ടു ഇടറിപ്പോയി എന്നു അറിയുന്നുവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

¹²Then the disciples came, and said to him, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended, when they heard this saying?”

¹³അതിന്നു അവന്‍ “സ്വര്‍ഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ എന്റെ പിതാവു നട്ടിട്ടില്ലാത്ത തൈഒക്കെയും വേരോടെ പറിഞ്ഞുപോകും.

¹³But he answered, “Every plant which my heavenly Father didn’t plant will be uprooted.

¹⁴അവരെ വിടുവിന്‍ ; അവര്‍ കുരുടന്മാരായ വഴികാട്ടികള്‍ അത്രേ; കുരുടന്‍ കുരുടനെ വഴിനടത്തിയാല്‍ ഇരുവരും കുഴിയില്‍ വീഴും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁴ Leave them alone. They are blind guides of the blind. If the blind guide the blind, both will fall into a pit.”

¹⁵പത്രൊസ് അവനോടുആ ഉപമ ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കു തെളിയിച്ചുതരേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁵Peter answered him, “Explain the parable to us.”

¹⁶അതിന്നു അവന്‍ പറഞ്ഞതു“നിങ്ങളും ഇന്നുവരെ ബോധമില്ലാത്തവരോ?

¹⁶So Jesus said, “Do you also still not understand?

¹⁷വായിക്കകത്തു കടക്കുന്നതു എല്ലാം വയറ്റില്‍ ചെന്നിട്ടു മറപ്പുരയില്‍ പോകുന്നു എന്നു ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ലയോ?

¹⁷ Don’t you understand that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the belly, and then out of the body?

¹⁸വായില്‍ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുന്നതോ ഹൃദയത്തില്‍നിന്നു വരുന്നു; അതു മനുഷ്യനെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കുന്നു.

¹⁸ But the things which proceed out of the mouth come out of the heart, and they defile the man.

¹⁹എങ്ങനെയെന്നാല്‍ ദുശ്ചിന്ത, കുലപാതകം, വ്യഭിചാരം, പരസംഗം, മോഷണം, കള്ളസാക്ഷ്യം, ദൂഷണം എന്നിവ ഹൃദയത്തില്‍ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടുവരുന്നു.

¹⁹ For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual sins, thefts, false testimony, and blasphemies.

²⁰മനുഷ്യനെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കുന്നതു ഇതത്രേ; കഴുകാത്ത കൈകൊണ്ടു ഭക്ഷിക്കുന്നതോ മനുഷ്യനെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കുന്നില്ല.”

²⁰ These are the things which defile the man; but to eat with unwashed hands doesn’t defile the man.”

²¹യേശു അവിടം വിട്ടു, സോര്‍ സീദോന്‍ എന്ന പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലേക്കു വാങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

²¹Jesus went out from there, and withdrew into the region of Tyre and Sidon.

²²ആ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു ഒരു കനാന്യ സ്ത്രീ വന്നു, അവനോടുകര്‍ത്താവേ, ദാവീദ് പുത്രാ, എന്നോടു കരുണ തോന്നേണമേ; എന്റെ മകള്‍ക്കു ഭൂതോപദ്രവം കഠിനമായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

²²Behold, a Canaanite woman came out from those borders, and cried, saying, “Have mercy on me, Lord, you son of David! My daughter is severely demonized!”

²³അവന്‍ അവളോടു ഒരു വാക്കും ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞില്ല; അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര്‍ അടുക്കെ, വന്നുഅവള്‍ നമ്മുടെ പിന്നാലെ നിലവിളിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു വരുന്നു; അവളെ പറഞ്ഞയക്കേണമേ എന്നു അവനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

²³But he answered her not a word. His disciples came and begged him, saying, “Send her away; for she cries after us.”

²⁴അതിന്നു അവന്‍ “യിസ്രായേല്‍ ഗൃഹത്തിലെ കാണാതെപോയ ആടുകളുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കല്ലാതെ എന്നെ അയച്ചിട്ടില്ല” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁴But he answered, “I wasn’t sent to anyone but the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

²⁵എന്നാല്‍ അവള്‍ വന്നുകര്‍ത്താവേ, എന്നെ സഹായിക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

²⁵But she came and worshiped him, saying, “Lord, help me.”

²⁶അവനോ“മക്കളുടെ അപ്പം എടുത്തു നായകൂട്ടികള്‍ക്കു ഇട്ടുകൊടുക്കുന്നതു നന്നല്ല” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁶But he answered, “It is not appropriate to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”

²⁷അതിന്നു അവള്‍അതേ, കര്‍ത്താവേ, നായക്കുട്ടികളും ഉടയവരുടെ മേശയില്‍ നിന്നു വീഴുന്ന നുറുക്കുകള്‍ തിന്നുന്നുണ്ടല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁷But she said, “Yes, Lord, but even the dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”

²⁸യേശു അവളോടു“സ്ത്രീയേ, നിന്റെ വിശ്വാസം വലിയതു; നിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടംപോലെ നിനക്കു ഭവിക്കട്ടെ” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. ആ നാഴികമുതല്‍ അവളുടെ മകള്‍ക്കു സൌഖ്യം വന്നു.

²⁸Then Jesus answered her, “Woman, great is your faith! Be it done to you even as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that hour.

²⁹യേശു അവിടെ നിന്നു യാത്രയായി ഗലീലക്കടലരികെ ചെന്നു മലയില്‍ കയറി അവിടെ ഇരുന്നു.

²⁹Jesus departed there, and came near to the sea of Galilee; and he went up into the mountain, and sat there.

³⁰വളരെ പുരുഷാരം മുടന്തര്‍, കുരുടര്‍, ഊമര്‍, കൂനര്‍ മുതലായ പലരെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു അവന്റെ കാല്‍ക്കല്‍ വെച്ചു; അവന്‍ അവരെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കി;

³⁰Great multitudes came to him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others, and they put them down at his feet. He healed them,

³¹ഊമര്‍ സംസാരിക്കുന്നതും കൂനര്‍ സൌഖ്യമാകുന്നതും മുടന്തര്‍ നടക്കുന്നതും കുരുടര്‍ കാണുന്നതും പുരുഷാരം കണ്ടിട്ടു ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു, യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തി.

³¹so that the multitude wondered when they saw the mute speaking, injured whole, lame walking, and blind seeing—and they glorified the God of Israel.

³²എന്നാല്‍ യേശു തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ അടുക്കെവിളിച്ചു“ഈ പുരുഷാരം ഇപ്പോള്‍ മൂന്നു നാളായി എന്നോടുകൂടെ പാര്‍ക്കുംന്നു; അവര്‍ക്കും ഭക്ഷിപ്പാന്‍ ഒന്നും ഇല്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടു അവരെക്കുറിച്ചു എനിക്കു മനസ്സലിവു തോന്നുന്നു; അവരെ പട്ടിണിയായി വിട്ടയപ്പാന്‍ മനസ്സുമില്ല; അവര്‍ വഴിയില്‍വെച്ചു തളര്‍ന്നുപോയേക്കും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

³²Jesus summoned his disciples and said, “I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days and have nothing to eat. I don’t want to send them away fasting, or they might faint on the way.”

³³ശിഷ്യന്മാര്‍ അവനോടുഇത്ര വലിയ പുരുഷാരത്തിന്നു തൃപ്തിവരുത്തുവാന്‍ മതിയായ അപ്പം ഈ കാട്ടില്‍ നമുക്കു എവിടെ നിന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

³³The disciples said to him, “Where should we get so many loaves in a deserted place as to satisfy so great a multitude?”

³⁴“നിങ്ങളുടെ പക്കല്‍ എത്ര അപ്പം ഉണ്ടു” എന്നു യേശു ചോദിച്ചു; ഏഴു; കുറെ ചെറുമീനും ഉണ്ടു എന്നു അവര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.

³⁴Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, “Seven, and a few small fish.”

³⁵അവന്‍ പുരുഷാരത്തോടു നിലത്തു ഇരിപ്പാന്‍ കല്പിച്ചു,

³⁵He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground;

³⁶ആ ഏഴു അപ്പവും മീനും എടുത്തു വാഴ്ത്തി നുറുക്കി ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ പക്കലും ശിഷ്യന്മാര്‍ പുരുഷാരത്തിന്നും കൊടുത്തു.

³⁶and he took the seven loaves and the fish. He gave thanks and broke them, and gave to the disciples, and the disciples to the multitudes.

³⁷എല്ലാവരും തിന്നു തൃപ്തരായി; ശേഷിച്ച കഷണം അവര്‍ ഏഴു വട്ടി നിറെച്ചെടുത്തു.

³⁷They all ate, and were filled. They took up seven baskets full of the broken pieces that were left over.

³⁸തിന്നവരോ സ്ത്രീകളെയും പൈതങ്ങളെയും കൂടാതെ നാലായിരം പുരുഷന്മാര്‍ ആയിരുന്നു.

³⁸Those who ate were four thousand men, besides women and children.

³⁹പിന്നെ പുരുഷാരത്തെ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചിട്ടു പടകില്‍ കയറി മഗദാദേശത്തു എത്തി.

³⁹Then he sent away the multitudes, got into the boat, and came into the borders of Magdala.
