1അനന്തരം ബിലെയാം ബാലാക്കിനോടുഇവിടെ എനിക്കു ഏഴു യാഗപീഠം പണിതു ഏഴു കാളയെയും ഏഴു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും ഒരുക്കിനിര്ത്തുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
1Balaam said to Balak, “Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven bulls and seven rams.”
2ബിലെയാം പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ബാലാക് ചെയ്തു; ബാലാക്കും ബിലെയാമും ഔരോ പീഠത്തിന്മേലും ഒരു കാളയെയും ഒരു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും യാഗം കഴിച്ചു;
2Balak did as Balaam had spoken; and Balak and Balaam offered on every altar a bull and a ram.
3പിന്നെ ബിലെയാം ബാലാക്കിനോടുനിന്റെ ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല് നില്ക്ക; ഞാന് അങ്ങോട്ടു ചെല്ലട്ടെ; പക്ഷേ യഹോവ എനിക്കു പ്രത്യക്ഷനാകും; അവന് എന്നെ ദര്ശിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു ഞാന് നിന്നോടു അറിയിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു കുന്നിന്മേല് കയറി.
3Balaam said to Balak, “Stand by your burnt offering, and I will go: perhaps Yahweh will come to meet me; and whatever he shows me I will tell you.” He went to a bare height.
4ദൈവം ബിലെയാമിന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി; ബിലെയാം അവനോടുഞാന് ഏഴു പിഠം ഒരുക്കി ഔരോ പീഠത്തിന്മേല് ഒരു കാളയെയും ഒരു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും യാഗം കഴിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
4God met Balaam: and he said to him, “I have prepared the seven altars, and I have offered up a bull and a ram on every altar.”
5എന്നാറെ യഹോവ ഒരു വചനം ബിലെയാമിന്റെ നാവിന്മേല് ആക്കിക്കൊടുത്തുനീ ബാലാക്കിന്റെ അടുക്കല് മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു ഇപ്രകാരം പറയേണം എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.
5Yahweh put a word in Balaam’s mouth, and said, “Return to Balak, and thus you shall speak.”
6അവന് അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു; അവനും മോവാബ്യപ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് എല്ലാവരും ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല് നിന്നിരുന്നു.
6He returned to him, and behold, he was standing by his burnt offering, he, and all the princes of Moab.
7അപ്പോള് അവന് സുഭാഷിതം ചൊല്ലിത്തുടങ്ങിയതുബാലാക് എന്നെ അരാമില്നിന്നും മോവാബ്രാജാവു പൂര്വ്വപര്വ്വതങ്ങളില്നിന്നും വരുത്തിചെന്നു യാക്കോബിനെ ശപിക്ക; ചെന്നു യിസ്രായേലിനെ പ്രാകുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
7He took up his parable, and said, “From Aram has Balak brought me, the king of Moab from the mountains of the East. Come, curse Jacob for me. Come, defy Israel.
8ദൈവം ശപിക്കാത്തവനെ ഞാന് എങ്ങനെ ശപിക്കും? യഹോവ പ്രാകാത്തവനെ ഞാന് എങ്ങനെ പ്രാകും?
8How shall I curse whom God has not cursed? How shall I defy whom Yahweh has not defied?
9ശിലാഗ്രങ്ങളില്നിന്നു ഞാന് അവനെ കാണുന്നു; ഗിരികളില്നിന്നു ഞാന് അവനെ ദര്ശിക്കുന്നു; ഇതാ തനിച്ചു പാര്ക്കുംന്നോരു ജനം; ജാതികളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില് എണ്ണപ്പെടുന്നതുമില്ല.
9For from the top of the rocks I see him. From the hills I see him. Behold, it is a people that dwells alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.
10യാക്കോബിന്റെ ധൂളിയെ ആര്ക്കും എണ്ണാം? യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ കാലംശത്തെ ആര്ക്കും ഗണിക്കാം? ഭക്തന്മാര് മരിക്കുമ്പോലെ ഞാന് മരിക്കട്ടെ; എന്റെ അവസാനം അവന്റേതുപോലെ ആകട്ടെ.
10Who can count the dust of Jacob, or number the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous! Let my last end be like his!”
11ബാലാക് ബിലെയാമിനോടുനീ എന്നോടു ഈ ചെയ്തതു എന്തു? എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ ശപിപ്പാനല്ലോ ഞാന് നിന്നെ വരുത്തിയതു? നീയോ അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കയത്രേ ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
11Balak said to Balaam, “What have you done to me? I took you to curse my enemies, and behold, you have blessed them altogether.”
12അതിന്നു അവന് യഹോവ എന്റെ നാവിന്മേല് തന്നതു പറവാന് ഞാന് ശ്രദ്ധിക്കേണ്ടായോ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
12He answered and said, “Must I not take heed to speak that which Yahweh puts in my mouth?”
13ബാലാക് അവനോടുനീ അവരെ മറ്റൊരു സ്ഥലത്തുനിന്നു കാണേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്നോടുകൂടെ വരിക; എന്നാല് അവരുടെ ഒരറ്റം മാത്രമല്ലാതെ എല്ലാവരെയും കാണുകയില്ല; അവിടെനിന്നു അവരെ ശപിക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
13Balak said to him, “Please come with me to another place, where you may see them; you shall see but the utmost part of them, and shall not see them all: and curse me them from there.”
14ഇങ്ങനെ അവന് പിസ്ഗകൊടുമുടിയില് സോഫീം എന്ന മുകള്പ്പരപ്പിലേക്കു അവനെ കൊണ്ടുപോയി ഏഴു യാഗപീഠം പണിതു ഔരോ പീഠത്തിന്മേലും ഒരു കാളയെയും ഒരു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും യാഗം കഴിച്ചു.
14He took him into the field of Zophim, to the top of Pisgah, and built seven altars, and offered up a bull and a ram on every altar.
15പിന്നെ അവന് ബാലാക്കിനോടുഇവിടെ നിന്റെ ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല് നില്ക്ക; ഞാന് അങ്ങോട്ടു ചെന്നു കാണട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
15He said to Balak, “Stand here by your burnt offering, while I meet over there.”
16യഹോവ ബിലെയാമിന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി അവന്റെ നാവിന്മേല് ഒരു വചനം കൊടുത്തുബാലാക്കിന്റെ അടുക്കല് മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു ഇപ്രകാരം പറക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.
16Yahweh met Balaam, and put a word in his mouth, and said, “Return to Balak, and say this.”
17അവന് അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നപ്പോള് അവന് മോവാബ്യ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടുകൂടെ തന്റെ ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല് നിന്നിരുന്നു. അപ്പോള് ബാലാക് അവനോടുയഹോവ എന്തു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
17He came to him, and behold, he was standing by his burnt offering, and the princes of Moab with him. Balak said to him, “What has Yahweh spoken?”
18അവന് സുഭാഷിതം ചൊല്ലിത്തുടങ്ങിയതുബാലാക്കേ, എഴുന്നേറ്റു കേള്ക്ക; സിപ്പോരിന്റെ പുത്രാ, എനിക്കു ചെവി തരിക.
18He took up his parable, and said, “Rise up, Balak, and hear! Listen to me, you son of Zippor.
19വ്യാജം പറവാന് ദൈവം മനുഷ്യനല്ല; അനുതപിപ്പാന് അവന് മനുഷ്യപുത്രനുമല്ല; താന് കല്പിച്ചതു ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കുമോ? താന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിവര്ത്തിക്കാതിരിക്കുമോ?
19God is not a man, that he should lie, nor the son of man, that he should repent. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not make it good?
20അനുഗ്രഹിപ്പാന് എനിക്കു കല്പന ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന് അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; എനിക്കു അതു മറിച്ചുകൂടാ.
20Behold, I have received a command to bless. He has blessed, and I can’t reverse it.
21യാക്കോബില് തിന്മ കാണ്മാനില്ല; യിസ്രായേലില് കഷ്ടത ദര്ശിപ്പാനുമില്ല; അവന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവനോടു കൂടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; രാജകോലാഹലം അവരുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ ഉണ്ടു.
21He has not seen iniquity in Jacob. Neither has he seen perverseness in Israel. Yahweh his God is with him. The shout of a king is among them.
22ദൈവം അവരെ മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു കൊണ്ടു വരുന്നു; കാട്ടുപോത്തിന്നു തുല്യമായ ബലം അവന്നു ഉണ്ടു.
22God brings them out of Egypt. He has as it were the strength of the wild ox.
23ആഭിചാരം യാക്കോബിന്നു പറ്റുകയില്ല; ലക്ഷണവിദ്യ യിസ്രായേലിനോടു ഫലിക്കയുമില്ല; ഇപ്പോള് യാക്കോബിനെക്കുറിച്ചും യിസ്രായേലിനെക്കുറിച്ചുംദൈവം എന്തെല്ലാം പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നേ പറയാവു.
23Surely there is no enchantment with Jacob; Neither is there any divination with Israel. Now it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What has God done!
24ഇതാ, ജനം സിംഹിയെപ്പോലെ എഴുന്നേലക്കുന്നു; ബാലസിംഹത്തെപ്പോലെ തെളിഞ്ഞുനിലക്കുന്നു; അവന് ഇര പിടിച്ചു തിന്നാതെയും നിഹതന്മാരുടെ രക്തം കുടിക്കാതെയും കിടക്കയില്ല.
24Behold, the people rises up as a lioness, As a lion he lifts himself up. He shall not lie down until he eat of the prey, and drinks the blood of the slain.”
25അപ്പോള് ബാലാക് ബിലെയാമിനോടുഅവരെ ശപിക്കയും വേണ്ടാ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കയും വേണ്ടാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
25Balak said to Balaam, “Neither curse them at all, nor bless them at all.”
26ബിലെയാം ബാലാക്കിനോടുയഹോവ കല്പിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും ഞാന് ചെയ്യും എന്നു നിന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞില്ലയോ എന്നുത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
26But Balaam answered Balak, “Didn’t I tell you, saying, ‘All that Yahweh speaks, that I must do?’”
27ബാലാക് ബിലെയാമിനോടുവരിക, ഞാന് നിന്നെ മറ്റൊരു സ്ഥലത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോകും; അവിടെനിന്നു നീ എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി അവരെ ശപിപ്പാന് ദൈവത്തിന്നു പക്ഷേ സമ്മതമാകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
27Balak said to Balaam, “Come now, I will take you to another place; perhaps it will please God that you may curse me them from there.”
28അങ്ങനെ ബാലാക് ബിലെയാമിനെ മരുഭൂമിക്കു എതിരെയുള്ള പെയോര്മലയുടെ മുകളില് കൊണ്ടുപോയി.
28Balak took Balaam to the top of Peor, that looks down on the desert.
29ബിലെയാം ബാലാക്കിനോടുഇവിടെ എനിക്കു ഏഴു യാഗപീഠം പണിതു ഏഴു കാളയെയും ഏഴു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും ഒരുക്കിനിര്ത്തുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
29Balaam said to Balak, “Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven bulls and seven rams.”
30ബിലെയാം പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ബാലാക് ചെയ്തു; ഔരോ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേലും ഒരു കാളയെയും ഒരു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും യാഗം കഴിച്ചു.
30Balak did as Balaam had said, and offered up a bull and a ram on every altar.
