1സ്ത്രീകളില്‍ ജ്ഞാനമുള്ളവള്‍ തന്റെ വീടു പണിയുന്നു; ഭോഷത്വമുള്ളവളോ അതു സ്വന്തകൈകളാല്‍ പൊളിച്ചുകളയുന്നു.
1Every wise woman builds her house, but the foolish one tears it down with her own hands.
2നേരായി നടക്കുന്നവന്‍ യഹോവാഭക്തന്‍ ; നടപ്പില്‍ വക്രതയുള്ളവനോ അവനെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്നു.
2He who walks in his uprightness fears Yahweh, but he who is perverse in his ways despises him.
3ഭോഷന്റെവായില്‍ ഡംഭത്തിന്റെ വടിയുണ്ടു; ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ അധരങ്ങളോ അവരെ കാത്തുകൊള്ളുന്നു.
3The fool’s talk brings a rod to his back, but the lips of the wise protect them.
4കാളകള്‍ ഇല്ലാത്തെടത്തു തൊഴുത്തു വെടിപ്പുള്ളതു; കാളയുടെ ശക്തികൊണ്ടോ വളരെ ആദായം ഉണ്ടു.
4Where no oxen are, the crib is clean, but much increase is by the strength of the ox.
5വിശ്വസ്തസാക്ഷി ഭോഷകു പറകയില്ല; കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷിയോ ഭോഷകു നിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു.
5A truthful witness will not lie, but a false witness pours out lies.
6പരിഹാസി ജ്ഞാനം അന്വേഷിച്ചിട്ടും കണ്ടെത്തുന്നില്ല; വിവേകമുള്ളവന്നോ പരിജ്ഞാനം എളുപ്പം.
6A scoffer seeks wisdom, and doesn’t find it, but knowledge comes easily to a discerning person.
7മൂഢന്റെ മുമ്പില്‍നിന്നു മാറിപ്പോക; പരിജ്ഞാനമുള്ള അധരങ്ങള്‍ നീ അവനില്‍ കാണുകയില്ല.
7Stay away from a foolish man, for you won’t find knowledge on his lips.
8വഴി തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നതു വിവേകിയുടെ ജ്ഞാനം; ചതിക്കുന്നതോ ഭോഷന്മാരുടെ ഭോഷത്വം.
8The wisdom of the prudent is to think about his way, but the folly of fools is deceit.
9ഭോഷന്മാരെ അകൃത്യയാഗം പരിഹസിക്കുന്നു. നേരുള്ളവര്‍ക്കോ തമ്മില്‍ പ്രീതി ഉണ്ടു.
9Fools mock at making atonement for sins, but among the upright there is good will.
10ഹൃദയം സ്വന്തദുഃഖത്തെ അറിയുന്നു; അതിന്റെ സന്തോഷത്തിലും അന്യന്‍ ഇടപെടുന്നില്ല.
10The heart knows its own bitterness and joy; he will not share these with a stranger.
11ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ വീടു മുടിഞ്ഞുപോകും; നീതിമാന്റെ കൂടാരമോ തഴെക്കും.
11The house of the wicked will be overthrown, but the tent of the upright will flourish.
12ചിലപ്പോള്‍ ഒരു വഴി മനുഷ്യന്നു ചൊവ്വായി തോന്നും; അതിന്റെ അവസാനമോ മരണവഴികള്‍ അത്രേ.
12There is a way which seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.
13ചിരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ തന്നേയും ഹൃദയം ദുഃഖിച്ചിരിക്കാം; സന്തോഷത്തിന്റെ അവസാനം ദുഃഖമാകയുമാം.
13Even in laughter the heart may be sorrowful, and mirth may end in heaviness.
14ഹൃദയത്തില്‍ വിശ്വാസത്യാഗമുള്ളവന്നു തന്റെ നടപ്പില്‍ മടുപ്പുവരും; നല്ല മനുഷ്യനോ തന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിയാല്‍ തന്നേ തൃപ്തിവരും.
14The unfaithful will be repaid for his own ways; likewise a good man will be rewarded for his ways.
15അല്പബുദ്ധി ഏതു വാക്കും വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു; സൂക്ഷ്മബുദ്ധിയോ തന്റെ നടപ്പു സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു.
15A simple man believes everything, but the prudent man carefully considers his ways.
16ജ്ഞാനി ഭയപ്പെട്ടു ദോഷം അകറ്റിനടക്കുന്നു; ഭോഷനോ ധിക്കാരംപൂണ്ടു നിര്‍ഭയനായി നടക്കുന്നു.
16A wise man fears, and shuns evil, but the fool is hotheaded and reckless.
17മുന്‍ കോപി ഭോഷത്വം പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നു. ദുരുപായി ദ്വേഷിക്കപ്പെടും.
17He who is quick to become angry will commit folly, and a crafty man is hated.
18അല്പബുദ്ധികള്‍ ഭോഷത്വം അവകാശമാക്കിക്കൊള്ളുന്നു; സൂക്ഷ്മബുദ്ധികളോ പരിജ്ഞാനം അണിയുന്നു.
18The simple inherit folly, but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
19ദുര്‍ജ്ജനം സജ്ജനത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിലും ദുഷ്ടന്മാര്‍ നീതിമാന്മാരുടെ വാതില്‍ക്കലും വണങ്ങിനിലക്കുന്നു.
19The evil bow down before the good, and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
20ദരിദ്രനെ കൂട്ടുകാരന്‍ പോലും പകെക്കുന്നു; ധനവാന്നോ വളരെ സ്നേഹിതന്മാര്‍ ഉണ്ടു.
20The poor person is shunned even by his own neighbor, but the rich person has many friends.
21കൂട്ടുകാരനെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്നവന്‍ പാപം ചെയ്യുന്നു; എളിയവരോടു കൃപകാണിക്കുന്നവനോ ഭാഗ്യവാന്‍ .
21He who despises his neighbor sins, but blessed is he who has pity on the poor.
22ദോഷം നിരൂപിക്കുന്നവര്‍ ഉഴന്നുപോകുന്നില്ലയോ? നന്മ നിരൂപിക്കുന്നവര്‍ക്കോ ദയയും വിശ്വസ്തതയും ലഭിക്കുന്നു.
22Don’t they go astray who plot evil? But love and faithfulness belong to those who plan good.
23എല്ലാ തൊഴിലുംകൊണ്ടു ലാഭം വരും; അധരചര്‍വ്വണംകൊണ്ടോ ഞെരുക്കമേ വരു.
23In all hard work there is profit, but the talk of the lips leads only to poverty.
24ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ ധനം അവര്‍ക്കും കിരീടം; മൂഢന്മാരുടെ ഭോഷത്വമോ ഭോഷത്വം തന്നെ.
24The crown of the wise is their riches, but the folly of fools crowns them with folly.
25സത്യസാക്ഷി പ്രാണരക്ഷ ചെയ്യുന്നു; ഭോഷകു നിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവനോ വഞ്ചന ചെയ്യുന്നു.
25A truthful witness saves souls, but a false witness is deceitful.
26യഹോവാഭക്തന്നു ദൃഢധൈര്യം ഉണ്ടു; അവന്റെ മക്കള്‍ക്കും ശരണം ഉണ്ടാകും.
26In the fear of Yahweh is a secure fortress, and he will be a refuge for his children.
27യഹോവാഭക്തി ജീവന്റെ ഉറവാകുന്നു; അതിനാല്‍ മരണത്തിന്റെ കണികളെ ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകും.
27The fear of Yahweh is a fountain of life, turning people from the snares of death.
28പ്രജാബാഹുല്യം രാജാവിന്നു ബഹുമാനം; പ്രജാന്യൂനതയോ പ്രഭുവിന്നു നാശം.
28In the multitude of people is the king’s glory, but in the lack of people is the destruction of the prince.
29ദീര്‍ഘക്ഷമയുള്ളവന്‍ മഹാബുദ്ധിമാന്‍ ; മുന്‍ കോപിയോ ഭോഷത്വം ഉയര്‍ത്തുന്നു.
29He who is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a quick temper displays folly.
30ശാന്തമനസ്സു ദേഹത്തിന്നു ജീവന്‍ ; അസൂയയോ അസ്തികള്‍ക്കു ദ്രവത്വം.
30The life of the body is a heart at peace, but envy rots the bones.
31എളിയവനെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നവന്‍ അവന്റെ സ്രഷ്ടാവിനെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്നു; ദരിദ്രനോടു കൃപകാണിക്കുന്നവനോ അവനെ ബഹുമാനിക്കുന്നു.
31He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for his Maker, but he who is kind to the needy honors him.
32ദുഷ്ടന്നു തന്റെ ദുഷ്ടതയാല്‍ വീഴ്ച വരുന്നു; നീതിമാന്നോ മരണത്തിലും പ്രത്യാശയുണ്ടു.
32The wicked is brought down in his calamity, but in death, the righteous has a refuge.
33വിവേകമുള്ളവന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില്‍ ജ്ഞാനം അടങ്ങിപ്പാര്‍ക്കുംന്നു; മൂഢന്മാരുടെ അന്തരംഗത്തില്‍ ഉള്ളതോ വെളിപ്പെട്ടുവരുന്നു.
33Wisdom rests in the heart of one who has understanding, and is even made known in the inward part of fools.
34നീതി ജാതിയെ ഉയര്‍ത്തുന്നു; പാപമോ വംശങ്ങള്‍ക്കു അപമാനം.
34Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.
35ബുദ്ധിമാനായ ദാസന്നു രാജാവിന്റെ പ്രീതി ലഭിക്കുന്നു. നാണംകെട്ടവന്നോ അവന്റെ കോപം നേരിടും.
35The king’s favor is toward a servant who deals wisely, but his wrath is toward one who causes shame.
