1യഹോവയെ സ്തുതിപ്പിന്‍ ; യഹോവേക്കു സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്‍വിന്‍ ; അവന്‍ നല്ലവനല്ലോ; അവന്റെ ദയ എന്നേക്കും ഉള്ളതു.
1Praise Yahweh! Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever.
2യഹോവയുടെ വീര്യപ്രവൃത്തികളെ ആര്‍ വര്‍ണ്ണിക്കും? അവന്റെ സ്തുതിയെ ഒക്കെയും ആര്‍ വിവരിക്കും?
2Who can utter the mighty acts of Yahweh, or fully declare all his praise?
3ന്യായത്തെ പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവരും എല്ലായ്പോഴും നീതി പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നവനും ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാര്‍.
3Blessed are those who keep justice. Blessed is one who does what is right at all times.
4യഹോവേ, നീ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തവരുടെ നന്മ ഞാന്‍ കാണേണ്ടതിന്നും നിന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ സന്തോഷത്തില്‍ സന്തോഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും നിന്റെ അവകാശത്തോടുകൂടെ പുകഴേണ്ടതിന്നും
4Remember me, Yahweh, with the favor that you show to your people. Visit me with your salvation,
5നിന്റെ ജനത്തോടുള്ള കടാക്ഷപ്രകാരം എന്നെ ഔര്‍ത്തു, നിന്റെ രക്ഷകൊണ്ടു എന്നെ സന്ദര്‍ശിക്കേണമേ.
5that I may see the prosperity of your chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of your nation, that I may glory with your inheritance.
6ഞങ്ങള്‍ ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ പാപം ചെയ്തു; ഞങ്ങള്‍ അകൃത്യവും ദുഷ്ടതയും പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ചു.
6We have sinned with our fathers. We have committed iniquity. We have done wickedly.
7ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര്‍ മിസ്രയീമില്‍വെച്ചു നിന്റെ അത്ഭുതങ്ങളെ ഗ്രഹിക്കാതെയും നിന്റെ മഹാദയയെ ഔര്‍ക്കാതെയും കടല്‍ക്കരയില്‍, ചെങ്കടല്‍ക്കരയില്‍വെച്ചു തന്നേ മത്സരിച്ചു.
7Our fathers didn’t understand your wonders in Egypt. They didn’t remember the multitude of your loving kindnesses, but were rebellious at the sea, even at the Red Sea or, Sea of Reeds .
8എന്നിട്ടും അവന്‍ തന്റെ മഹാശക്തി വെളിപ്പെടുത്തേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്റെ നാമംനിമിത്തം അവരെ രക്ഷിച്ചു.
8Nevertheless he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make his mighty power known.
9അവന്‍ ചെങ്കടലിനെ ശാസിച്ചു, അതു ഉണങ്ങിപ്പോയി; അവന്‍ അവരെ മരുഭൂമിയില്‍കൂടി എന്നപോലെ ആഴിയില്‍കൂടി നടത്തി.
9He rebuked the Red Sea or, Sea of Reeds also, and it was dried up; so he led them through the depths, as through a desert.
10അവന്‍ പകയന്റെ കയ്യില്‍നിന്നു അവരെ രക്ഷിച്ചു; ശത്രുവിന്റെ കയ്യില്‍നിന്നു അവരെ വീണ്ടെടുത്തു.
10He saved them from the hand of him who hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
11വെള്ളം അവരുടെ വൈരികളെ മൂടിക്കളഞ്ഞു; അവരില്‍ ഒരുത്തനും ശേഷിച്ചില്ല.
11The waters covered their adversaries. There was not one of them left.
12അവര്‍ അവന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ വിശ്വസിച്ചു; അവന്നു സ്തുതിപാടുകയും ചെയ്തു.
12Then they believed his words. They sang his praise.
13എങ്കിലും അവര്‍ വേഗത്തില്‍ അവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികളെ മറന്നു; അവന്റെ ആലോചനെക്കു കാത്തിരുന്നതുമില്ല.
13They soon forgot his works. They didn’t wait for his counsel,
14മരുഭൂമിയില്‍വെച്ചു അവര്‍ ഏറ്റവും മോഹിച്ചു; നിര്‍ജ്ജനപ്രദേശത്തു അവര്‍ ദൈവത്തെ പരീക്ഷിച്ചു.
14but gave in to craving in the desert, and tested God in the wasteland.
15അവര്‍ അപേക്ഷിച്ചതു അവന്‍ അവര്‍ക്കുംകൊടുത്തു; എങ്കിലും അവരുടെ പ്രാണന്നു ക്ഷയം അയച്ചു.
15He gave them their request, but sent leanness into their soul.
16പാളയത്തില്‍വെച്ചു അവര്‍ മോശെയോടും യഹോവയുടെ വിശുദ്ധനായ അഹരോനോടും അസൂയപ്പെട്ടു.
16They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron, Yahweh’s saint.
17ഭൂമി പിളര്‍ന്നു ദാഥാനെ വിഴുങ്ങി; അബീരാമിന്റെ കൂട്ടത്തെയും മൂടിക്കളഞ്ഞു.
17The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.
18അവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില്‍ തീ കത്തി; അഗ്നിജ്വാല ദുഷ്ടന്മാരെ ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.
18A fire was kindled in their company. The flame burned up the wicked.
19അവര്‍ ഹോരേബില്‍വെച്ചു ഒരു കാളകൂട്ടിയെ ഉണ്ടാക്കി; വാര്‍ത്തുണ്ടാക്കിയ വിഗ്രഹത്തെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു.
19They made a calf in Horeb, and worshiped a molten image.
20ഇങ്ങനെ അവര്‍ തങ്ങളുടെ മഹത്വമായവനെ പുല്ലു തിന്നുന്ന കാളയോടു സദ്രശനാക്കി തീര്‍ത്തു.
20Thus they exchanged their glory for an image of a bull that eats grass.
21മിസ്രയീമില്‍ വലിയ കാര്യങ്ങളും ഹാമിന്റെ ദേശത്തു അത്ഭുതപ്രവൃത്തികളും
21They forgot God, their Savior, who had done great things in Egypt,
22ചെങ്കടലിങ്കല്‍ ഭയങ്കരകാര്യങ്ങളും ചെയ്തവനായി തങ്ങളുടെ രക്ഷിതാവായ ദൈവത്തെ അവര്‍ മറന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.
22Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and awesome things by the Red Sea or, Sea of Reeds .
23ആകയാല്‍ അവരെ നശിപ്പിക്കുമെന്നു അവന്‍ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു; അവന്റെ വൃതനായ മോശെ കോപത്തെ ശമിപ്പിപ്പാന്‍ അവന്റെ സന്നിധിയില്‍ പിളര്‍പ്പില്‍ നിന്നില്ലെങ്കില്‍ അവന്‍ അവരെ നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളയുമായിരുന്നു.
23Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had Moses, his chosen, not stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, so that he wouldn’t destroy them.
24അവര്‍ മനോഹരദേശത്തെ നിരസിച്ചു; അവന്റെ വചനത്തെ വിശ്വസിച്ചതുമില്ല.
24Yes, they despised the pleasant land. They didn’t believe his word,
25അവര്‍ തങ്ങളുടെ കൂടാരങ്ങളില്‍വെച്ചു പിറുപിറുത്തു; യഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേള്‍ക്കാതെയിരുന്നു.
25but murmured in their tents, and didn’t listen to Yahweh’s voice.
26അതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്‍ മരുഭൂമിയില്‍ അവരെ വീഴിക്കുമെന്നും അവരുടെ സന്തതിയെ ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയില്‍ നശിപ്പിക്കുമെന്നും
26Therefore he swore to them that he would overthrow them in the wilderness,
27അവരെ ദേശങ്ങളില്‍ ചിതറിച്ചുകളയുമെന്നും അവര്‍ക്കും വിരോധമായി തന്റെ കൈ ഉയര്‍ത്തി സത്യംചെയ്തു.
27that he would overthrow their seed among the nations, and scatter them in the lands.
28അനന്തരം അവര്‍ ബാല്‍പെയോരിനോടു ചേര്‍ന്നു; പ്രേതങ്ങള്‍ക്കുള്ള ബലികളെ തിന്നു.
28They joined themselves also to Baal Peor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.
29ഇങ്ങനെ അവര്‍ തങ്ങളുടെ ക്രിയകളാല്‍ അവനെ കോപിപ്പിച്ചു; പെട്ടെന്നു ഒരു ബാധ അവര്‍ക്കും തട്ടി.
29Thus they provoked him to anger with their deeds. The plague broke in on them.
30അപ്പോള്‍ ഫീനെഹാസ് എഴുന്നേറ്റു ശിക്ഷ നടത്തി; ബാധ നിര്‍ത്തലാകയും ചെയ്തു.
30Then Phinehas stood up, and executed judgment, so the plague was stopped.
31അതു എന്നേക്കും തലമുറതലമുറയായി അവന്നു നീതിയായിഎണ്ണിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
31That was credited to him for righteousness, for all generations to come.
32മെരീബാവെള്ളത്തിങ്കലും അവര്‍ അവനെ കോപിപ്പിച്ചു; അവരുടെനിമിത്തം മോശെക്കും ദോഷം ഭവിച്ചു.
32They angered him also at the waters of Meribah, so that Moses was troubled for their sakes;
33അവര്‍ അവന്റെ മനസ്സിനെ കോപിപ്പിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്‍ അധരങ്ങളാല്‍ അവിവേകം സംസാരിച്ചുപോയി.
33because they were rebellious against his spirit, he spoke rashly with his lips.
34യഹോവ തങ്ങളോടു നശിപ്പിപ്പാന്‍ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അവര്‍ ജാതികളെ നശിപ്പിച്ചില്ല.
34They didn’t destroy the peoples, as Yahweh commanded them,
35അവര്‍ ജാതികളോടു ഇടകലര്‍ന്നു അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളെ പഠിച്ചു.
35but mixed themselves with the nations, and learned their works.
36അവരുടെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെയും സേവിച്ചു; അവ അവര്‍ക്കൊരു കണിയായി തീര്‍ന്നു.
36They served their idols, which became a snare to them.
37തങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും അവര്‍ ഭൂതങ്ങള്‍ക്കു ബലികഴിച്ചു.
37Yes, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons.
38അവര്‍ കുറ്റമില്ലാത്ത രക്തം, പുത്രീപുത്രന്മാരുടെ രക്തം തന്നേ ചൊരിഞ്ഞു; അവരെ അവര്‍ കനാന്യവിഗ്രഹങ്ങള്‍ക്കു ബലികഴിച്ചു, ദേശം രക്തപാതകംകൊണ്ടു അശുദ്ധമായ്തീര്‍ന്നു.
38They shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan. The land was polluted with blood.
39ഇങ്ങനെ അവര്‍ തങ്ങളുടെ ക്രിയകളാല്‍ മലിനപ്പെട്ടു, തങ്ങളുടെ കര്‍മ്മങ്ങളാല്‍ പരസംഗം ചെയ്തു.
39Thus were they defiled with their works, and prostituted themselves in their deeds.
40അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയുടെ കോപം തന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ നേരെ ജ്വലിച്ചു; അവന്‍ തന്റെ അവകാശത്തെ വെറുത്തു.
40Therefore Yahweh burned with anger against his people. He abhorred his inheritance.
41അവന്‍ അവരെ ജാതികളുടെ കയ്യില്‍ ഏല്പിച്ചു; അവരെ പകെച്ചവര്‍ അവരെ ഭരിച്ചു.
41He gave them into the hand of the nations. Those who hated them ruled over them.
42അവരുടെ ശത്രുക്കള്‍ അവരെ ഞെരുക്കി; അവര്‍ അവര്‍ക്കും കീഴടങ്ങേണ്ടിവന്നു.
42Their enemies also oppressed them. They were brought into subjection under their hand.
43പലപ്പോഴും അവന്‍ അവരെ വിടുവിച്ചു; എങ്കിലും അവര്‍ തങ്ങളുടെ ആലോചനയാല്‍ അവനോടു മത്സരിച്ചു; തങ്ങളുടെ അകൃത്യംനിമിത്തം അധോഗതിപ്രാപിച്ചു.
43Many times he delivered them, but they were rebellious in their counsel, and were brought low in their iniquity.
44എന്നാല്‍ അവരുടെ നിലവിളി കേട്ടപ്പോള്‍ അവന്‍ അവരുടെ കഷ്ടതയെ കടാക്ഷിച്ചു.
44Nevertheless he regarded their distress, when he heard their cry.
45അവന്‍ അവര്‍ക്കായി തന്റെ നിയമത്തെ ഔര്‍ത്തു; തന്റെ മഹാദയപ്രകാരം അനുതപിച്ചു.
45He remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his loving kindnesses.
46അവരെ ബദ്ധരാക്കി കൊണ്ടുപോയവര്‍ക്കെല്ലാം അവരോടു കനിവു തോന്നുമാറാക്കി.
46He made them also to be pitied by all those who carried them captive.
47ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, ഞങ്ങളെ രക്ഷിക്കേണമേ; നിന്റെ വിശുദ്ധനാമത്തിന്നു സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്‍വാനും നിന്റെ സ്തുതിയില്‍ പ്രശംസിപ്പാനും ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയില്‍നിന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ ശേഖരിക്കേണമേ.
47Save us, Yahweh, our God, gather us from among the nations, to give thanks to your holy name, to triumph in your praise!
48യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ എന്നും എന്നേക്കും വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെടുമാറാകട്ടെ; ജനമെല്ലാം ആമേന്‍ എന്നു പറയട്ടെ. യഹോവയെ സ്തുതിപ്പിന്‍ .
48Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, from everlasting even to everlasting! Let all the people say, “Amen.” Praise Yah! BOOK V
