1ആരോഹണഗീതം.
1Many times they have afflicted me from my youth up. Let Israel now say,
2യിസ്രായേല്‍ പറയേണ്ടതെന്തെന്നാല്‍അവര്‍ എന്റെ ബാല്യംമുതല്‍ പലപ്പോഴും എന്നെ ഉപദ്രവിച്ചു;
2many times they have afflicted me from my youth up, yet they have not prevailed against me.
3അവര്‍ എന്റെ ബാല്യംമുതല്‍ പലപ്പോഴും എന്നെ ഉപദ്രവിച്ചു; എങ്കിലും അവര്‍ എന്നെ ജയിച്ചില്ല.
3The plowers plowed on my back. They made their furrows long.
4ഉഴവുകാര്‍ എന്റെ മുതുകിന്മേല്‍ ഉഴുതു; ഉഴവു ചാലുകളെ അവര്‍ നീളത്തില്‍ കീറി.
4Yahweh is righteous. He has cut apart the cords of the wicked.
5യഹോവ നീതിമാനാകുന്നു; അവന്‍ ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ കയറുകളെ അറുത്തുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.
5Let them be disappointed and turned backward, all those who hate Zion.
6സീയോനെ പകെക്കുന്നവരൊക്കെയും ലജ്ജിച്ചു പിന്‍ തിരിഞ്ഞുപോകട്ടെ.
6Let them be as the grass on the housetops, which withers before it grows up;
7വളരുന്നതിന്നുമുമ്പെ ഉണങ്ങിപ്പോകുന്ന പുരപ്പുറത്തെ പുല്ലുപോലെ അവര്‍ ആകട്ടെ.
7with which the reaper doesn’t fill his hand, nor he who binds sheaves, his bosom.
8കൊയ്യുന്നവന്‍ അതുകൊണ്ടു തന്റെ കൈയാകട്ടെ കറ്റ കെട്ടുന്നവന്‍ തന്റെ മാര്‍വ്വിടം ആകട്ടെ നിറെക്കയില്ല.
8Neither do those who go by say, “The blessing of Yahweh be on you. We bless you in the name of Yahweh.”
9യഹോവയുടെ അനുഗ്രഹം നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കുണ്ടാകട്ടെ; യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തില്‍ ഞങ്ങള്‍ നിങ്ങളെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു എന്നിങ്ങനെ വഴിപോകുന്നവര്‍ പറയുന്നതുമില്ല.
