¹आता बंधूंनो, आम्ही तुम्हांला विनंति करतो, ती प्रभु येशू ख्रिस्ताच्या येण्याविषयी, आणि त्याच्याबरोबर आमच्या एकत्र भेटण्याविषयी.

¹And we ask you, brethren, in regard to the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, and of our gathering together unto him,

²आम्ही तुम्हांला विनंती करतो की, तुम्ही तुमचे मन पूर्णपणे अस्वस्थ होऊ देऊ नका किंवा सतत विचलित होऊ नका, जर तुम्ही ऐकले की, प्रभूचा दिवस आला आहे, काही लोक अशा प्रकारचे भविष्य वर्तवतील. किंवा काही लोक शिकवणुकीद्वारे किंवा काही लोक आम्हांकडून पत्र लिहिले आहे असे भासवून असा दावा करतील.

²that ye be not quickly shaken in mind, nor be troubled, neither through spirit, neither through word, neither through letters as through us, as that the day of Christ hath arrived;

³तर कोणीही तुम्हाला कोणत्याही प्रकारे फसवू नये. म्हणून सावध असा. मी असे म्हणतो कारण पहिल्यांदा मोठी बंडखोरी झाल्याशिवाय प्रभूचा दिवस येणार नाही. आणि जो नाशासाठी नेमला आहे, तो नियम मोडणारा प्रकट होईल.

³let not any one deceive you in any manner, because — if the falling away may not come first, and the man of sin be revealed — the son of the destruction,

⁴तो विरोध करील आणि स्वत:ला सर्व गोष्टींच्या वर उच्च करील. त्याला देव किंवा उपासना करण्याची कोणतीही एखादी वस्तु असे म्हणतील. येथपर्यंत की तो देवाच्या मंदिरात जाईल आणि सिंहासनावर बसेल आणि तो स्वत:ला देव असे जाहीर करील.

⁴who is opposing and is raising himself up above all called God or worshipped, so that he in the sanctuary of God as God hath sat down, shewing himself off that he is God — [the day doth not come].

⁵मी तुमच्याबरोबरच होतो तेव्हा तुम्हाला मी ह्या गोष्टींबद्दल सांगत होतो. ते तुम्हाला आठवत नाही काय?

⁵Do ye not remember that, being yet with you, these things I said to you?

⁶आणि म्हणून अशा प्रकारे त्याला कशाचा प्रतिबंध होत आहे हे तुम्हांला माहीत आहे. यासाठी तो योग्य वेळी प्रकट व्हावा.

⁶and now, what is keeping down ye have known, for his being revealed in his own time,

⁷मी हे म्हणतो कारण दुष्टपणाची रहस्यमय शक्ति आधीपासूनच जगात काम करीत आहे. पण असा एक आहे जो दुष्टाची रहस्यमय शक्ति थोपवीत आहे. आणि जोपर्यंत ती शक्ति मार्गातून काढून बाजूला टाकली जात नाही, तोपर्यंत तो ती शक्ति थोपवून धरील

⁷for the secret of the lawlessness doth already work, only he who is keeping down now [will hinder] — till he may be out of the way,

⁸आणि मग दुष्ट प्रकट होईल. प्रभु येशू त्याला आपल्या मुखातील श्वासाने मारुन टाकील आणि प्रभु जेव्हा त्याच्या येण्याच्या वेळी मोठ्या वैभवाने प्रकट होईल तेव्हा तो त्याचा नाश करील.

⁸and then shall be revealed the Lawless One, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the manifestation of his presence,

⁹दुष्टाचे येणे सैतानाच्या सामर्थ्याने होईल आणि त्याच्या येण्याबरोबर खोटे चमत्कार, चिन्हे आणि अद्भुत गोष्टी घडतील.

⁹[him,] whose presence is according to the working of the Adversary, in all power, and signs, and lying wonders,

¹⁰आणि जे नरकाच्या वाटेवर आहेत त्यांच्याविरुद्ध प्रत्येक प्रकारची दुष्टता फसवणूक व्हावी म्हणून तो आणील, कारण त्यांनी सत्यावर प्रेम करण्याचे नाकारले. यासाठी की त्यांचे तारण होणे शक्य व्हावे.

¹⁰and in all deceitfulness of the unrighteousness in those perishing, because the love of the truth they did not receive for their being saved,

¹¹आणि या कारणासाठी देवाने त्यांना भ्रम पडेल असे केले. यासाठी की, जे खोटे आहे त्यावर त्यांनी विश्वास ठेवावा.

¹¹and because of this shall God send to them a working of delusion, for their believing the lie,

¹²आणि त्यांनी सत्यावर विश्वास ठेवला नाही तर दुष्टतेत आनंद मानला, त्यांना शिक्षा मिळावी.

¹²that they may be judged — all who did not believe the truth, but were well pleased in the unrighteousness.

¹³पण आम्ही देवाकडे तुमच्याविषयी नेहमीच आभार मानले पाहिजेत. ज्यांच्यावर देव प्रेम करतो असे तुम्ही आमचे बंधु आहात. कारण आत्म्याच्या द्वारे शुद्धीकरण आणि सत्यावर विश्वास ठेवून तारण व्हावे म्हणून देवाने तुम्हाला प्रारंभापासून निवडले आहे.

¹³And we — we ought to give thanks to God always for you, brethren, beloved by the Lord, that God did choose you from the beginning to salvation, in sanctification of the Spirit, and belief of the truth,

¹⁴आणि या तारणासाठीच, आम्ही सांगितलेल्या सुवार्तेद्वारेच देवाने तुम्हांला बोलाविले. यासाठी की, आमच्या प्रभु येशू ख्रिस्ताचे जे गौरव ते तुम्हांलाही मिळावे

¹⁴to which He did call you through our good news, to the acquiring of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ;

¹⁵म्हणून बंधूंनो, दृढ उभे राहा. आणि आमच्या तोंडच्या वचनाद्वारे किंवा आमच्या पत्राद्वारे जी परंपरा आम्ही तुम्हाला शिकविली आहे तिला धरुन उभे राहा.

¹⁵so, then, brethren, stand ye fast, and hold the deliverances that ye were taught, whether through word, whether through our letter;

¹⁶आता प्रभु येशू ख्रिस्त स्वत: आणि देव आमचा पिता ज्याने आम्हावर प्रेम केले आणि ज्याने आपल्या कृपेमध्ये आम्हाला अनंतकाळचे समाधान आणि चांगली आशा दिली.

¹⁶and may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and our God and Father, who did love us, and did give comfort age-during, and good hope in grace,

¹⁷ते तुमच्या अंत:करणाला समाधान देवोत व तुम्ही ज्या प्रत्येक चांगल्या गोष्टी करता अथवा सांगता त्यामध्ये तुम्हाला बळकट करो.

¹⁷comfort your hearts, and establish you in every good word and work.
