1आम्हाला आणखी काही गोष्टी तुम्हाला सांगावयाच्या आहेत: बंधूंनो, कृपा करुन आमच्यासाठी प्रार्थना करा, यासाठी की जसा तुमच्यामध्ये झाला तसा प्रभूच्या संदेशाचा प्रसार लवकर व्हावा आणि ते गौरविले जावे.
1As to the rest, pray ye, brethren, concerning us, that the word of the Lord may run and may be glorified, as also with you,
2आणि प्रार्थना करा की, हेकट व दुष्ट माणसांपासून आमची सुटका व्हावी कारण सर्वच लोकांचा प्रभूवर विश्वास नाही.
2and that we may be delivered from the unreasonable and evil men, for the faith [is] not of all;
3पण प्रभु विश्वासू आहे. तो तुम्हांला बळकट करील व दुष्टांपासून तुमचे रक्षण करील.
3and stedfast is the Lord, who shall establish you, and shall guard [you] from the evil;
4प्रभूमध्ये आम्हांला तुमच्याविषयी विश्वास आहे आणि खात्री आहे की, जे आम्ही तुम्हाला करण्यासाठी सांगत आहोत ते तुम्ही करीत आहात व ते पुढे करीतच राहाल.
4and we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that the things that we command you ye both do and will do;
5प्रभु तुमची अंत:करणे देवाच्या प्रीतीत आणि ख्रिस्ताच्या सोशिक सहनशीलतेकडे नेवो.
5and the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God, and to the endurance of the Christ.
6आता, बंधूंनो, आम्ही तुम्हांला आमच्या प्रभु येशू ख्रिस्ताच्या नावात आज्ञा करतो की, जो कोणी बंधु, ज्या परंपरा त्यांना आमच्याकडून मिळाल्या त्या परंपरांप्रमाणे चालत नाही, तर आळशी जीवन जगत आहे तर त्याच्यापासून दूर राहा.
6And we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to withdraw yourselves from every brother disorderly walking, and not after the deliverance that ye received from us,
7मी तुम्हांला हे सांगतो कारण तुम्ही स्वत: जाणता की तुम्ही आमचे अनुकरण कसे करायचे, कारण आम्ही तुमच्यामध्ये आळशी नव्हतो.
7for yourselves have known how it behoveth [you] to imitate us, because we did not act disorderly among you;
8किंवा कोणाकडूनही आम्ही फुकटची भाकर खाल्ली नाही, उलट, रात्रंदिवस आम्ही काबाडकष्ट केले यासाठी की तुमच्यावर आम्ही ओझे होऊ नये.
8nor for nought did we eat bread of any one, but in labour and in travail, night and day working, not to be chargeable to any of you;
9[This verse may not be a part of this translation]
9not because we have not authority, but that ourselves a pattern we might give to you, to imitate us;
10कारण आम्ही जेव्हा तुमच्याबरोबर होतो, तेव्हा आम्ही तुम्हांला हा नियम दिला: “जर एखाद्याला काम करायचे नसेल, तर त्याने खाऊ नये.”
10for even when we were with you, this we did command you, that if any one is not willing to work, neither let him eat,
11आम्ही हे सांगतो कारण आम्ही ऐकतो की तुमच्यापैकी काही जण आळशीपणाचे जीवन जगत आहेत. ते काहीच काम करीत नाहीत. उलट कोणत्याही दिशाहीन असल्यासारखे इकडे तिकडे फिरत असतात. (इतरांच्या कामात दखल देतात)
11for we hear of certain walking among you disorderly, nothing working, but over working,
12आम्ही अशा लोकांना आज्ञा करतो व प्रभु येशू ख्रिस्तामध्ये बोध करतो की, त्यांनी शांतीने काम करावे आणि स्वत:ची भाकर स्वत:च मिळवून खावी.
12and such we command and exhort through our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness working, their own bread they may eat;
13पण बंधूंनो, तुम्ही तुमच्यासाठी चांगले करीत असता थकू नका.
13and ye, brethren, may ye not be weary doing well,
14जर कोणी या पत्राद्वारे आमच्या सूचनांचे पालन करीत नाही, तर तो कोण आहे हे लक्षात ठेवा व त्याच्याबरोबर राहू नका, यासाठी की त्याला लाज वाटावी.
14and if any one do not obey our word through the letter, this one note ye, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed,
15पण त्याला शत्रू समजू नका, परंतु धाक द्या, जसे त्याला तुमचा भाऊ समजा.
15and as an enemy count [him] not, but admonish ye [him] as a brother;
16आता प्रभु स्वत: जो शांतीचा उगम आहे, तो तुम्हाला सर्वकाळ आणि सर्व प्रकारे शांति देवो, प्रभु तुम्हा सर्वांबरोबर असो.
16and may the Lord of the peace Himself give to you the peace always in every way; the Lord [is] with you all!

17The salutation by the hand of me, Paul, which is a sign in every letter; thus I write;
18आपल्या प्रभु येशू ख्रिस्ताची कृपा तुम्हा सर्वांबरोबर असो.
18the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [is] with you all! Amen.
