1भूमी यापुढे मृतांना झाकून ठेवणार नाही. त्या वेळेला लिव्याथान ह्या कपटी सर्पाचा परमेश्वर न्यायनिवाडा करील. वेटोळे घालून बसलेल्या लिव्याथान सर्पाला परमेश्वर आपल्या मोठ्या, कठीण व बलवान तलवारीने शिक्षा करील. समुद्रातील प्रचंड धुडाला तो मारील.
1In that day lay a charge doth Jehovah, With his sword — the sharp, and the great, and the strong, On leviathan — a fleeing serpent, And on leviathan — a crooked serpent, And He hath slain the dragon that [is] in the sea.
2तेव्हा लोक रम्य द्राक्षमळ्याबद्दलचे गाणे म्हणतील.
2In that day, `A desirable vineyard,` respond ye to her,
3“मी स्वत: परमेश्वर, त्या बागेची निगा राखीन. मी योग्य वेळी बागेला पाणी देईन. रात्रंदिवस मी त्या बागेची राखण करीन. कोणीही बागेची नासधूस करणार नाही.
3I, Jehovah, am its keeper, every moment I water it, Lest any lay a charge against it, Night and day I keep it!
4मी रागवलेलो नाही, पण युध्द झाले आणि बागेभोवती कोणी काटेरी कुंपण घातले तर मी तेथे जाऊन ते नष्ट करीन.
4Fury is not in Me; Who giveth Me a brier — a thorn in battle? I step into it, I burn it at once.
5जर कोणी व्यक्ति माझ्याकडे आश्रयासाठी आली व तिला माझ्याबरोबर शांतता करावयाची असली तर तिला माझ्याकडे येऊ द्या, व माझ्याबरोबर शांती करू द्या.
5Or — he doth take hold on My strength, He doth make peace with Me, Peace he doth make with Me.
6ज्याप्रमाणे खोलवर गेलेली मुळे झाडालाभक्कम आधार देतात. त्याप्रमाणे माझ्याकडे आलेली ही माणसे याकोबचे हात मजबूत करतील. ही माणसे, फुलू लागलेल्या झाडाप्रमाणे, इस्राएलचा विकास करतील. फळांनी बहरलेल्या वृक्षाप्रमाणे इस्राएलची मुले हा देश व्यापून टाकतील.”
6Those coming in He causeth to take root, Jacob doth blossom, and flourished hath Israel, And they have filled the face of the world [with] increase.
7परमेश्वर त्याच्या लोकांना कशी शिक्षा करील? पूर्वी जसा शत्रूंनी लोकांना त्रास दिला, तसाच आता परमेश्वर देईल का? पूर्वी जसे अनेक लोक मारले गेले तसेच आता परमेश्वर करील का? तो लोकांना मारील का?
7As the smiting of his smiter hath He smitten him? As the slaying of his slain doth He slay?
8इस्राएलला दूर पाठवून परमेश्वर हा वाद निकालात काढील. परमेश्वर इस्राएलची निर्भत्सना करील. वाळवंटातील गरम वाऱ्याप्रमाणे त्याचे शब्द जळजळीत असतील.
8In measure, in sending it forth, thou strivest with it, He hath taken away by His sharp wind, In the day of an east wind,
9याकोबाच्या अपराधांना क्षमा कशी केली जाईल? काय केले असता त्याची पापे नाहिशी होतील? पुढील गोष्टी घडून येतील: वेदीतील चिऱ्यांचा चुरा केला जाईल. पूजेसाठी घडविलेल्या खोट्या देवांच्या मूर्ती व बांधलेल्या वेदी या सर्व नष्ट केल्या जातील.
9Therefore by this is the iniquity of Jacob covered, And this [is] all the fruit — To take away his sin, in His setting all the stones of an altar, As chalkstones beaten in pieces, They rise not — shrines and images.
10त्या वेळेला तटबंदी असलेले शहर वाळवंटाप्रमाणे ओसाड होईल. सर्व लोक दूर पळून गेलेले असतील. ते शहर चरायचे कुरण होईल. तेथे वासरे चरतील. गुरे वेलींची पाने खातील.
10For the fenced city [is] alone, A habitation cast out and forsaken as a wilderness, There doth the calf delight, And there it lieth down, And hath consumed its branches.
11वेली सुकतील, त्यांच्या फांद्या तुटून पडतील आणि, बायका त्या सरपणासाठी वापरतील. लोक समजून घेण्याचे नाकारतात. म्हणून त्यांना घडविणारा देव त्यांची समजूत घालणार नाही. आणि तो त्यांच्यावर दया करणार नाही.
11In the withering of its branch it is broken off, Women are coming in setting it on fire, For it [is] not a people of understanding, Therefore pity it not doth its Maker, And its Former doth not favour it.
12त्या वेळेस परमेश्वर त्याच्या लोकांना इतरांपासून वेगळे करील. परमेश्वर युफ्राटिसपासून सुरवात करून मिसरच्या नदीपर्यंतच्या सर्व लोकांना गोळा करील. एक एक करून तुम्ही इस्राएलचे सर्व लोक एकत्र गोळा व्हाल.
12And it hath come to pass, in that day, Beat out doth Jehovah from the branch of the river, Unto the stream of Egypt, And ye are gathered one by one, O sons of Israel.
13माझी बरीच माणसे अश्शूरमध्ये गमावली आहेत. माझी काही माणसे मिसरला पळून गेली आहेत. पण त्या वेळी प्रचंड तुतारी फुंकली जाईल आणि ते सर्व लोक यरूशलेमला परत येतील. ते सर्व जण त्या पवित्र डोंगरावरील देवापुढे नमन करतील.
13And it hath come to pass, in that day, It is blown with a great trumpet, And come in have those perishing in the land of Asshur, And those cast out in the land of Egypt, And have bowed themselves to Jehovah, In the holy mount — in Jerusalem!
