¹यिर्मयासाठी परमेश्वराचा संदेश:

¹The word that hath been unto Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying,

²यिर्मया, परमेश्वराच्या घराच्या दाराजवळ उभा राहा आणि हा उपदेश कर: “यहूदातील सर्व लोकांनो, परमेश्वराचा संदेश ऐका. देवाची पूजा करण्यासाठी आत येणाऱ्या सर्व लोकांनो, ऐका!

²Stand in the gate of the house of Jehovah, and thou hast proclaimed there this word, and hast said, Hear a word of Jehovah, all ye of Judah, who are coming in at these gates, to bow before Jehovah:

³परमेश्वर हा इस्राएलच्या लोकांचा देव आहे. सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो ‘तुमची जगण्याची पद्धत बदला आणि सत्कृत्ये करा. तुम्ही असे केल्यास मी तुम्हाला या ठिकाणी राहू देईन

³Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel, Amend your ways, and your doings, And I cause you to dwell in this place.

⁴काही लोक खोटे बोलतात त्यावर विश्वास ठेवू नका. ते म्हणतात “हे परमेश्वराचे मंदिर आहे. परमेश्वराचे मंदिर, परमेश्वराचे मंदिर.”

⁴Do not trust for yourselves Unto the words of falsehood, saying, The temple of Jehovah, the temple of Jehovah, The temple of Jehovah [are] they!

⁵तुम्ही तुमचा जीवनमार्ग बदललात आणि सत्कृत्ये केलीत तर मी तुम्हाला येथे राहू देईन. तुम्ही एकमेकांशी प्रामाणिक असले पाहिजे.

⁵For, if ye do thoroughly amend your ways and your doings, If ye do judgment thoroughly Between a man and his neighbour,

⁶तुम्ही अपरिचिताशीसुध्दा प्रामाणिकपणे वागले पाहिजे. विधवांसाठी आणि अनाथांसाठी तुम्ही योग्य गोष्टी केल्या पाहिजेत. निरपराध्यांना मारु नका. दुसऱ्या देवांना अनुसरु नका. का? कारण ह्या गोष्टी तुमच्या आयुष्याचा नाश करतील.

⁶Sojourner, fatherless, and widow, ye oppress not, And innocent blood do not shed in this place, And after other gods do not walk, for evil to yourselves,

⁷तुम्ही माझ्या आज्ञा पाळल्यात, तर मी तुम्हाला येथे राहू देईन. मी ही भूमी कायमची तुमच्या पूर्वजांना दिली.

⁷Then I have caused you to dwell in this place, In the land that I gave to your fathers, From age even unto age.

⁸“पण तुम्ही ज्या लबाड्यांवर विश्वास ठेवत आहात, त्या लबाड्या कवडीमोलाच्या आहेत.

⁸Lo, ye are trusting for yourselves On the words of falsehood, so as not to profit.

⁹तुम्ही चोरी आणि खून कराल का? तुम्ही व्यभिचाराचे पाप कराल का? तुम्ही दुसऱ्यांवर खोटे आरोप कराल का? तुम्ही बआल देवाची पूजा कराल का? तुम्हाला माहीत नसणाऱ्या इतर दैवतांना अनुसराल का?

⁹Stealing, murdering, and committing adultery, And swearing to falsehood, and giving perfume to Baal, And going after other gods whom ye knew not.

¹⁰तुम्ही ही अशी पापे केलीत तर तुम्ही माझ्या नावाच्या या घरात माझ्यासमोर उभे राहू शकाल असे तुम्हाला वाटते का? अशा भयंकर गोष्टी करुन तुम्ही माझ्यासमोर उभे राहून म्हणू शकाल का “आम्ही सुरक्षित आहोत?”

¹⁰And ye have come in and stood before Me, In this house on which My name is called, And have said, `We have been delivered,` In order to do all these abominations.

¹¹हे मंदिर माझ्या नावाचे आहे. तुमच्या दृष्टीने हे मंदिर म्हणजे दुसरे काही नसून लुटांरुनी लपण्याची जागा आहे का? मी तुमच्यावर नजर ठेवून आहे.”‘ हा परमेश्वराकडून आलेला संदेश आहे.

¹¹A den of burglars hath this house, On which My name is called, been in your eyes? Even I, lo, I have seen, an affirmation of Jehovah.

¹²“यहूदातील लोकांनो, आता तुम्ही शीलो गावात जा. माझ्या नावाचे पहिले घर मी जेथे बांधले, तेथे जा. इस्राएलमधील लोकांनीसुध्दा दुष्कृत्ये केली. त्याबद्दल मी काय केले, ते जाऊन पाहा.

¹²But go ye, I pray you, Unto My place that [is] in Shiloh, Where I caused My name to dwell at first, And see that which I have done to it, For the wickedness of My people Israel.

¹³इस्राएलच्या लोकांनो, तुम्ही ही सर्व दुष्कृत्ये करीत होता.” हा परमेश्वराचा संदेश आहे.! ‘मी पुन्हा पुन्हा तुमच्याशी बोललो, पण तुम्ही माझे ऐकण्यास नकार दिला. मी तुम्हाला बोलाविले, पण तुम्ही ओ दिली नाही.

¹³And now, because of your doing all these works, An affirmation of Jehovah, And I speak unto you, rising early and speaking, And ye have not hearkened, And I call you, and ye have not answered,

¹⁴म्हणून, ज्यावर तुम्ही विश्वास ठेवता व जे मी तुम्हाला व तुमच्या पूर्वजांना दिले ते यरुशलेममधील माझ्या नावाचे घर मी नष्ट करीन. शिलोतील मंदिराप्रमाणे मी ह्या मंदिराचा नाश करीन. शिलोतील मंदिराप्रमाणे मी ह्या मंदिराचा नाश करीन.

¹⁴I also to the house on which My name is called, In which ye are trusting, And to the place that I gave to you, and to your fathers, Have done, as I have done to Shiloh.

¹⁵एफ्राईममधील तुमच्या भावांना मी माझ्यापासून जसे दूर फेकले, तसे मी तुम्हाला फेकीन.’

¹⁵And I have cast you from before My face, As I have cast out all your brethren, The whole seed of Ephraim.

¹⁶“यिर्मया, तुला सांगतो, यहूदाच्या लोकांसाठी प्रार्थना करु नकोस. त्यांच्यासाठी याचना व आळवणी करु नकोस. त्यांच्या मदतीकरिता मला विनवू नकोस. तू त्यांच्याकरिता केलेली प्रार्थना मी ऐकणार नाही.

¹⁶And thou dost not pray for this people, Nor lift up for them crying and prayer, Nor intercede with Me, for I hear thee not.

¹⁷ते लोक यहूदांच्या गावांतून काय करीत आहेत, हे तू पाहतोस, हे मला माहीत आहे. यरुशलेमच्या रस्त्यावर ते काय करीत आहेत हे तुला दिसू शकते.

¹⁷Art thou not seeing what they are doing In cities of Judah, and in streets of Jerusalem?

¹⁸यहूदातील लोक काय करीत आहेत ते पाहा. मुले लाकडे गोळा करतात. वडील त्याचा उपयोग सरपण म्हणून करतात. ते विस्तव पेटवितात. बायका स्वर्गातील राणीला अर्पण करण्यासाठी भाकर तयार करतात. यहूदातील हे लोक इतर दैवतांची पूजा करताना दैवतांना अर्पण करण्यासाठी म्हणून पेय ओततात. ते मला संताप आणण्यासाठी हे करतात.

¹⁸The sons are gathering wood, And the fathers are causing the fire to burn, And the women are kneading dough, To make cakes to the queen of the heavens, And to pour out libations to other gods, So as to provoke Me to anger.

¹⁹पण यहूदातील लोक खरोखर ज्याला दुखवीत आहेत, तो मी नाही.” हा परमेश्वराकडून आलेला संदेश आहे. “ते फक्त स्वत:ला दुखवीत आहेत. ते स्वत:लाच लज्जित करीत आहेत.”

¹⁹Me are they provoking to anger? an affirmation of Jehovah, Is it not themselves, For the shame of their own faces?

²⁰म्हणून परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो, “मी ह्या जागेवर माझा राग काढीन. मी माणसांना, प्राण्यांना, रानातील झाडांना आणि पिकांना शिक्षा करीन. माझा राग तप्त अग्नीप्रमाणे असेल. कोणीही तो विझवू शकणार नाही.”

²⁰Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah, Lo, Mine anger and My fury is poured out on this place, On man, and beast, and on tree of the field, And on fruit of the ground, And it hath burned, and it is not quenched.

²¹सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वरा, इस्राएलचा देव म्हणतो, “जा आणि तुम्हाला हवी तितकी होमार्पणे करा. तुम्हाला पाहिजे तितके यज्ञ द्या. त्या यज्ञ दिलेल्या पशूंचे मांस तुम्हीच खा.

²¹Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel, Your burnt-offerings add to your sacrifices, And eat ye flesh.

²²मी तुमच्या पूर्वजांना मिसरमधून बाहेर आणले. मी त्यांच्याशी बोललो. पण अर्पण करण्याच्या गोष्टींबद्दल व बळींबद्दल मी त्यांना आज्ञा दिली नाही.

²²For I did not speak with your fathers, Nor did I command them in the day of My bringing them out of the land of Egypt, Concerning the matters of burnt-offering and sacrifice,

²³मी त्यांना फक्त पुढील आज्ञा दिली. ‘माझी आज्ञा पाळा मग मी तुमचा देव होईन व तुम्ही माझी माणसे व्हाल. मी आज्ञा करीन ते करा म्हणजे तुमचे भले होईल.’

²³But this thing I commanded them, saying: Hearken to My voice, And I have been to you for God, And ye — ye are to Me for a people, And have walked in all the way that I command you, So that it is well for you.

²⁴“पण तुमच्या पूर्वजांनी माझे ऐकले नाही. त्यांनी माझ्याकडे लक्ष दिले नाही. ते दुराग्रही होते आणि त्यांना पाहिजे त्याच गोष्टी त्यांनी केल्या. ते सज्जन झाले नाहीत. उलट जास्तच दुष्ट झाले. पुढे येण्याऐवजी ते मागे गेले.

²⁴And they have not hearkened, nor inclined their ear, And they walk in the counsels, In the stubbornness, of their evil heart, And are for backward, and not for forward.

²⁵तुमच्या पूर्वजांनी मिसर सोडला त्या दिवसापासून आजपावेतो मी माझे सेवक तुमच्याकडे पाठविले आहेत. माझे सेवक संदेष्टे आहेत. मी पुन्हा पुन्हा त्यांना तुमच्याकडे पाठविले.

²⁵Even from the day when your fathers Went out of the land of Egypt till this day, I send to you all my servants the prophets, Daily rising early and sending,

²⁶पण तुमच्या पूर्वजांनी माझे ऐकले नाही. त्यांनी माझ्याकडे लक्ष दिले नाही. ते खूप दुराग्रही होते. त्यांनी त्यांच्या वडिलांपेक्षा वाईट कृत्ये केली.

²⁶And they have not hearkened unto Me, Nor inclined their ear, and harden their neck, They have done evil above their fathers.

²⁷“यिर्मया, यहूदाच्या लोकांना तू ह्या सर्व गोष्टी सांग पण ते तुझे ऐकणार नाहीत. तू त्यांना बोलाविलेस तरी ते तुला ओ देणार नाहीत.

²⁷And thou hast spoken unto them all these words, And they do not hearken to thee, And thou hast called unto them, And they do not answer thee.

²⁸म्हणून तू त्यांना पुढील गोष्टी सांगितल्या पाहिजेस. ह्या राष्ट्रांने परमेश्वराच्या म्हणजेच त्यांच्या देवाच्या आज्ञा पाळल्या नाहीत. त्या राष्ट्रांतील लोकांनी देवाची शिकवण ऐकली नाही. त्यांना खरी शिकवण माहीत नाही.

²⁸And thou hast said unto them: This [is] the nation that hath not hearkened, To the voice of Jehovah its God, Nor have they accepted instruction, Perished hath stedfastness, Yea, it hath been cut off from their mouth.

²⁹“यिर्मया, तुझे केस कापून दूर फेकून दे. उजाड डोंगरमाथ्यावर जा आणि रड. का? परमेश्वराने माणसांच्या ह्या पिढीला नाकारले आहे. परमेश्वराने ह्या लोकांकडे पाठ फिरविली आहे. रागाच्या भरात तो त्यांना शिक्षा करील.

²⁹Cut off thy crown, and cast [it] away, And lift up on high places lamentation, For Jehovah hath rejected, And He leaveth the generation of His wrath.

³⁰हे असे कर कारण यहूदाच्या लोकांना पापे करताना मी पाहिले आहे.” हा परमेश्वराचा संदेश आहे. “त्यांनी त्यांच्या मूर्ती स्थापन केल्या आहेत. मी त्या मूर्तीचा तिरस्कार करतो. माझ्या नावाच्या मंदिरात त्यांनी त्या मूर्ती स्थापिल्या आहेत. त्यांनी माझे घर ‘अपवित्र’ केले आहे.

³⁰For the sons of Judah Have done the evil thing in Mine eyes, An affirmation of Jehovah, They have set their abominations in the house On which My name is called — to defile it,

³¹यहूदाच्या लोकांनी बेन हिन्नोमच्या दरीत तोफेतची उच्चस्थाने बांधली आहेत. त्या ठिकाणी लोक स्वत:च्या मुलामुलींना ठार मारतात आणि दैवताला अर्पण करण्यासाठी म्हणून जाळतात. अशी आज्ञा मी कधीही दिलेली नाही. असे काही माझ्या मनातही कधी आलेले नाही.

³¹And have built the high places of Tophet, That [are] in the valley of the son of Hinnom, To burn their sons and their daughters with fire, Which I did not command, Nor did it come up on My heart.

³²म्हणून मी तुम्हाला ताकीद देतो. असे दिवस येत आहेत.” हा परमेश्वराचा संदेश आहे, “लोक ह्या जागेला पुन्हा कधीही तोफेत वा बेन हिन्नोमची दरी असे म्हणणार नाहीत, तर तिला ते संहाराची दरी म्हणतील. असे नाव देण्याचे कारण हेच की आणखी एका मृतालाही पुरण्यास जागा राहणार नाही इतकी वेळ येईपर्यंत ते तोफेतमध्ये मृतांना पुरतील.

³²Therefore, lo, days are coming, An affirmation of Jehovah, And it is not said any more, `The Tophet,` And `Valley of the son of Hinnom,` But `Valley of the slaughter,` And they have buried in Tophet — without place.

³³मग बाकी मृत शरीरे उघडीच जमिनीवर पडतील आणि गिधाडांचे भक्ष्य होतील. वन्य पशू ती शरीरे खातील. त्या गिधाडांना अथवा वन्य पशूंना हाकलायला तेथे कोणीही जिवंत राहणार नाही.

³³And the carcase of this people hath been for food To a fowl of the heavens, and to a beast of the earth, And there is none troubling.

³⁴यहूदाच्या गावांतील व यरुशलेमच्या रस्तांवरील उल्हासाच्या व आनंदाच्या कल्लोळांचा मी शेवट करीन. यहूदात किंवा यरुशलेममध्ये पुन्हा कधीही वधू वरांचा शब्द उमटणार नाही. ती भूमी ओसाड वाळवंट होईल.”

³⁴And I have caused to cease from cities of Judah, And from streets of Jerusalem, The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, Voice of bridegroom, and voice of bride, For the land doth become a desolation!
