¹माझ्या मुला तू ख्रिस्त येशूच्या ठायी असलेल्या कृपेत बलवान हो.

¹You therefore, my child, be strengthened in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

²माझ्याकडून ज्या गोष्टी तू पुष्कळ साक्षीदारांसमोर ऐकल्यास त्या घे व इतरांना शिकविण्यास समर्थ अशा विश्वासू लोकांवर सोपवून दे.

²The things which you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit the same to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.

³ख्रिस्त येशूचा चांगला सैनिक या नात्याने आपल्या दु:खाचा सहभागी बनून राहा.

³You therefore must endure hardship, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.

⁴सैनिकाचे काम करणारा कोणीही जीवनातील संसाराच्या कामकाजात अडकत नाही. यासाठी की त्याला आपल्या वरिष्ठ अधिकाऱ्याला संतुष्ट करता यावे.

⁴No soldier on duty entangles himself in the affairs of life, that he may please him who enrolled him as a soldier.

⁵जर कोणी मैदानी स्पर्धेत भाग घेतो तर नियमाप्रमाणे स्पर्धेत घेतल्याशिवाय त्याला विजयाचा मुकुट मिळविता येत नाही.

⁵Also, if anyone competes in athletics, he isn’t crowned unless he has competed by the rules.

⁶अति श्रम करणारा शेतकरी हा पहिल्या फळाचा वाटा घेणारा असावा.

⁶The farmers who labor must be the first to get a share of the crops.

⁷मी काय म्हणतो याविषयी तू विचार करावा अशी माझी इच्छा आहे. प्रभु तुला या सर्व गोष्टी समजून घेण्याचे सामर्थ्य देईल.

⁷Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things.

⁸येशू ख्रिस्त जो मेलेल्यांतून उठला व दाविदाचा वंशज आहे त्याची आठवण करीत राहा. जी सुवार्ता मी सांगतो तिचा हा गाभा आहे.

⁸Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, of the seed of David, according to my Good News,

⁹कारण सुवार्तेमुळे मी दु:ख सहन करतो. येथपर्यंत की, गुन्हेगाराप्रमणे साखळदंडानी मला बांधण्यात आले. पण देवाचे शिक्षण बांधले गेले नाही.

⁹in which I suffer hardship to the point of chains as a criminal. But God’s word isn’t chained.

¹⁰म्हणून, देवाच्या निवडलेल्यांसाठी मी सर्व काही सोशीत आहे, म्हणजे त्यांनाही ख्रिस्त येशूद्वारे मिळणारे तारण व अनंतकाळचे गौरव प्राप्त व्हावे.

¹⁰Therefore I endure all things for the chosen ones’ sake, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

¹¹येथे एक विश्वसनीय सत्य आहे: जर आम्ही त्याच्यासह मेलेले आहोत. तर त्याच्याबरोबर जीवंतही राहू

¹¹This saying is faithful: “For if we died with him, we will also live with him.

¹²जर आम्ही दु:खसहन केले तर आम्ही त्याच्याबरोबर राज्यसुद्धा करू जर आम्ही त्याला नाकारले तर तोही आम्हाला नाकारील

¹²If we endure, we will also reign with him. If we deny him, he also will deny us.

¹³जरी आम्ही अविश्वासू आहोत तरी तो अजूनही विश्वासू आहे कारण तो स्वत:ला नाकारु शकत नाही.

¹³If we are faithless, he remains faithful. He can’t deny himself.”

¹⁴लोकांना या गोष्टीची आठवण करुन देत राहा. देवासमोर त्यांना निक्षून ताकीद दे की, शब्दांविषयी भांडू नका. असे भांडण कोणत्याही फायद्याचे नाही. फक्त जे ऐकतात त्यांचा ते नाश करते.

¹⁴Remind them of these things, charging them in the sight of the Lord, that they don’t argue about words, to no profit, to the subverting of those who hear.

¹⁵देवाने पसंत केलेला व देवाचे वचन योग्य रीतीने शिकवण्यास पात्र असा आणि जे काम करतोस त्यात लाज वाटण्यासारखे काहीही नसलेला असा देवाने पसंत केलेला कामकरी होण्याचा प्रयत्न कर.

¹⁵Give diligence to present yourself approved by God, a workman who doesn’t need to be ashamed, properly handling the Word of Truth.

¹⁶पण ऐहिक वादविवाद टाळ कारण ते लोकांना देवापासून अधिकाधिक दूर नेतात.

¹⁶But shun empty chatter, for it will go further in ungodliness,

¹⁷आणि अशा प्रकारे वादविवाद करणाऱ्यांची शिकवण कर्करोगासारखी पसरते. या लोकांमध्ये हुमनाय आणि फिलेत आहेत,

¹⁷and those words will consume like gangrene, of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;

¹⁸जे सत्यापासून दूर गेले आहेत. ते म्हणतात की, मरणानंतरचे सर्व लोकांचे पुनरुत्थान आधीच झाले आहे व ते काही लोकांच्या विश्वासाचा नाश करीत आहेत.

¹⁸men who have erred concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection is already past, and overthrowing the faith of some.

¹⁹तथापि देवाने घातलेला भक्क म पाया त्यावर असलेला शिक्का यासह स्थिर राहतो. “प्रभु जे त्याचे आहेत त्यांना ओळखतो.” “ जो कोणी प्रभूचे नाव घेतो त्याने वाईटापासून वळलेच पाहिजे.”

¹⁹However God’s firm foundation stands, having this seal, “The Lord knows those who are his,” Numbers 16:5 and, “Let every one who names the name of the Lord TR reads “Christ” instead of “the Lord” depart from unrighteousness.”

²⁰मोठ्या घरात केवळ सोन्याचांदीची भांडी असतात असे नाही तर लाकूड व माती यापासून बनविलेलीही असतात. काही प्रतिष्ठेच्या कामात वापरण्यासाठी असतात तर दुसरी काही कनिष्ठ प्रतीच्या कामी वापरण्यासाठी नेमलेली असतात.

²⁰Now in a large house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of clay. Some are for honor, and some for dishonor.

²¹म्हणून जर मनुष्य या अशुद्धतेपासून स्वत:ला शुद्ध करील तर तो मानसन्मानस योग्य असे भांडे होईल व धन्यासाठी प्रत्येकसमर्पित कामासाठी पवित्र केलेले व उपयुक्त पात्र होईल.

²¹If anyone therefore purges himself from these, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, and suitable for the master’s use, prepared for every good work.

²²पण तरुणपणाच्या वासनांपासून दूर पळ जे प्रभूला शुद्ध अंत:करणाने हाक मारतात व प्रभूवर विश्वास ठेवतात, अशांच्या बरोबर, नीतिमत्त्व, विश्वास, प्रीति आणि शांति यांच्या मागे लाग.

²²Flee from youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

²³नेहमी मूर्ख व निरर्थक अशा वादविवादापासून दूर राहा. कारण तुला माहीत आहे की, त्यामुळे भांडणे निर्माण होतात.

²³But refuse foolish and ignorant questionings, knowing that they generate strife.

²⁴देवाच्या सेवकाने भांडू नये, तर सर्व लोकांशी दयाधर्माने वागावे तसेच शिक्षणात कुशल व सहनशील असावे.

²⁴The Lord’s servant must not quarrel, but be gentle towards all, able to teach, patient,

²⁵जे त्याला विरोध करतात, त्यांना विनयाने शिक्षण द्यावे या आशेने की देवाने त्यांना पश्चात्ताप करण्यास सहाय्य करावे आणि त्यांना सत्याची ओळख व्हावी.

²⁵in gentleness correcting those who oppose him: perhaps God may give them repentance leading to a full knowledge of the truth,

²⁶ते शुद्धीवर यावेत व सैतानाच्या सापळ्यांतून जेथे सैतानाने त्यांना त्याच्या इच्छेप्रमाणे करण्यासाठी ठेवले आहे, तेथून त्यांची सुटका व्हावी.

²⁶and they may recover themselves out of the devil’s snare, having been taken captive by him to his will.
