¹हे लक्षात ठेव: शेवटच्या दिवसांत कठीण समय आपल्यावर येतील.

¹But know this, that in the last days, grievous times will come.

²लोक स्वार्थी, धनलोभी, बढाईखोर, गर्विष्ठ, शिव्याशाप देणारे, आईवडिलांची आज्ञा न मानणारे, कृतघ्र, अधार्मिक

²For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

³इतरांवर प्रीती नसणारे, क्षमा न करणारे, चहाडखोर, मोकाट सुटलेले, क्रूर, चांगल्याच्या विरुद्ध असले.

³without natural affection, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, no lovers of good,

⁴विश्वासघातकी, उतावीळ, गर्वाने फुगले, देवावर प्रेम करण्यापेक्षा चैनीची अधिक आवड धरणारे असे होतील;

⁴traitors, headstrong, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God;

⁵ते देवाच्या सेवेचे बाहेरचे स्वरूप चांगले राखतील, परंतु त्याचे सामर्थ्य नाकारतील. त्यांच्यापासून नेहमी दूर राहा.

⁵holding a form of godliness, but having denied its power. Turn away from these, also.

⁶मी हे म्हणतो कारण त्यांच्यांपैकी काही घरात शिरकाव करतात व पापाने भरलेल्या, सर्व प्रकारच्या वासनांनी बहकलेल्या, कमकुवत स्त्रियांवर ताबा मिळवितात.

⁶For some of these are people who creep into houses, and take captive gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts,

⁷अशा स्त्रिया नेहमी शिकण्याचा प्रयत्न करतात. पण सत्याच्या पूर्ण ज्ञानापर्यंत त्या कधीही जाऊ शकत नाहीत.

⁷always learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

⁸यान्रेस व यांब्रेस यांनी जसा मोशेला विरोध केला तसा ही माणसे सत्याला विरोध करतात. ज्यांची मने भ्रष्ट आहेत व सत्य अनुसरण्यात अयशस्वी ठरलेली अशी ही माणसे आहेत.

⁸Even as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so do these also oppose the truth; men corrupted in mind, who concerning the faith, are rejected.

⁹ते पुढे अधिक प्रगती करणार नाहीत. कारण जसा यान्रेस व यांब्रेस यांचा मूर्खपणा प्रकट झाला तसा यांचा मूर्खपणा सर्वांना प्रकट होईल.

⁹But they will proceed no further. For their folly will be evident to all men, as theirs also came to be.

¹⁰तरीही तू माझी शिकवण, वागणूक, जीवनातील माझे ध्येय, माझा विश्वास, माझा धीर, माझी प्रीति, माझी सहनशीलता ही पाळली आहेस.

¹⁰But you did follow my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, steadfastness,

¹¹अंत्युखिया, इकुन्या, आणि लुस्त्र येथे ज्या गोष्टी माझ्या बाबतीत घडल्या, जो भयंकर छळ मीसोसला ते माझे दु:ख तुला माहीत आहे! परंतु प्रभूने या सर्व त्रासांपासून मला सोडविले.

¹¹persecutions, and sufferings: those things that happened to me at Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. I endured those persecutions. Out of them all the Lord delivered me.

¹²खरे पाहता, जे जे ख्रिस्त येशूमध्ये शुद्ध जीवन जगू इच्छितात, त्या सर्वांचा छळ होईल.

¹²Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

¹³पण दुष्ट लोक व भोंदू लोक इतरांना वरचेवर फसवीत राहतील आणि स्वत:ही फसून अधिक वाईटाकडे जातील.

¹³But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

¹⁴पण तुझ्या बाबतीत, ज्या गोष्टी तू शिकलास व ज्याविषयी तुझी खात्री झाली आहे त्या तू तशाच पुढे चालू ठेव. ती सत्ये ज्या कोणापासून तू शिकलास ते तुला ठाऊक आहे. तू त्यांच्यावर विश्वास ठेवू शकतोस.

¹⁴But you remain in the things which you have learned and have been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them.

¹⁵तुला माहीत आहे की, तू आपल्या अतिबाल्यावस्थेत असल्यापासूनच तुला पवित्र शास्त्र वचनांची माहिती आहे. त्यांच्या ठायी तुला शहाणे बनविण्याचे व तारणाकडे घेऊन जाण्याचे सामर्थ्य आहे. ते तुला तारणाकडे नेण्यासाठी लागणारे ज्ञान देण्यास समर्थ आहे.

¹⁵From infancy, you have known the holy Scriptures which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith, which is in Christ Jesus.

¹⁶प्रत्येक शास्त्रलेख देवाच्या प्रेरणेने लिहिला असल्यामुळे तो सत्य समजण्यास, वाईटाचा निषेध करण्यास, चुका सुधारण्यास व योग्य जीवन जगण्याचे मार्गदर्शन करण्यास उपयुक्त आहे.

¹⁶Every Scripture is God-breathed and or, Every writing inspired by God is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness,

¹⁷यासाठी की, देवाचा माणूस प्रवीण होऊन पूर्णपणे प्रत्येक चागंल्या कामासाठी सज्ज व्हावा.

¹⁷that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
