¹येशू डोंगरावरून खाली आला. पुष्कळ लोक त्याच्यामागे चालत होते.

¹When he came down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.

²तेव्हा एक कुष्ठरोग झालेला मनुष्य त्याच्याकडे येऊन वाकून त्याच्या पाया पडून म्हणाला, “प्रभु, तुमची इच्छा असेल तर तुम्ही मला शुद्ध करण्यास समर्थ आहत.”

²Behold, a leper came to him and worshiped him, saying, “Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean.”

³मग येशूने आपला हात पुढे करुन त्याला स्पर्श केला व म्हटले, “तू शुद्ध व्हावेस अशी माझी इच्छा आहे,” आणि ताबडतोब तो कुष्ठरोगी बरा झाला.

³Jesus stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, “I want to. Be made clean.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

⁴“हे जे घडले ते कुणाला सांगू नकोस, तर जाऊन स्वत:ला याजकांना दाखव आणि तू कुष्ठरोगमुक्त झालास ह्याचे प्रमाण म्हणून मोशेने ठरवून दिलेले अर्पण वाहून टाक. ह्यामुळे तू शुद्ध झाल्याचे लोकांना कळेल.”

⁴Jesus said to him, “See that you tell nobody, but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

⁵येशू कफर्णहूम शहरास गेला. जेव्हा त्याने शहरात प्रवेश केला, तेव्हा एक सेनाधिकारी त्याच्याकडे आला

⁵When he came into Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking him,

⁶आणि विनंती करू लागला की, “प्रभु, माझा नोकर पक्षाघाताने खूपच त्रासलेला आहे व तो माझ्या घरात पडून आहे.”

⁶and saying, “Lord, my servant lies in the house paralyzed, grievously tormented.”

⁷येशू त्याला म्हणाला, “मी येऊन त्याला बरे करीन.”

⁷Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”

⁸तेव्हा सेनाधिकारी म्हणाला, “प्रभु, आपण माझ्या घरी यावे इतकी माझी योग्यता नाही. आपण फक्त शब्द बोला म्हणजे माझा नोकर बरा होईल.

⁸The centurion answered, “Lord, I’m not worthy for you to come under my roof. Just say the word, and my servant will be healed.

⁹कारण मी स्वत: दुसऱ्या अधिकाऱ्यांच्या हाताखाली काम करतो आणि माझ्या हाताखाली देखील अनेक शिपाई आहेत. मी एखाद्याला जा म्हणतो आणि तो जातो आणि दुसऱ्याला ये म्हटल्यावर तो येतो. मी माझ्या नोकराला अमूक कर असे सांगतो आणि तो ते करतो.”

⁹For I am also a man under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and tell another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and tell my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

¹⁰येशूने जेव्हा हे ऐकले तेव्हा त्याला आश्चर्य वाटले आणि जे त्याच्यामागुन चालत होते. त्यांना तो म्हणाला, “मी तुम्हांला खरे सांगतो, इस्राएलात इतका मोठा विश्वास असलेला एकही मनुष्य मला आढळला नाही.

¹⁰When Jesus heard it, he marveled, and said to those who followed, “Most certainly I tell you, I haven’t found so great a faith, not even in Israel.

¹¹मी तुम्हांला सांगतो, पुष्कळ जण पूर्वेकडून आणी पश्चिमेकडून येतील आणि अब्राहाम, इसहाक व याकोब यांच्यासह स्वर्गाच्या राज्यात मेजासभोवती मेजवानीसाठी बसतील.

¹¹ I tell you that many will come from the east and the west, and will sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the Kingdom of Heaven,

¹²परंतु जे खरे वारस आहेत. ते बाहेरच्या अंधरात टाकले जातील. तेथे रडणे व दात खाणे चालेल.”

¹² but the children of the Kingdom will be thrown out into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

¹³मग येशू सेनाधिकाऱ्याला म्हणाला, “जा, तू जसा विश्वास धरलास तसे होईल.” आणि त्याच क्षणी त्याचा नोकर बरा झाला.

¹³Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way. Let it be done for you as you have believed.” His servant was healed in that hour.

¹⁴मग येशू पेत्राच्या घरी आला. तेथे पेत्राची सासू तापाने आजारी पडली आहे, असे येशूने पहिले.

¹⁴When Jesus came into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother lying sick with a fever.

¹⁵त्याने तिच्या हाताला स्पर्श केला तेव्हा तिचा ताप निघाला. मग ती उठून त्याची सेवा करू लागली.

¹⁵He touched her hand, and the fever left her. She got up and served him. TR reads “them” instead of “him”

¹⁶त्या संध्याकाळी लोकांनी भूतबाधा झालेल्या पुष्कळ लोकांना त्याच्याकडे आणले येशूने शब्द बोलून ती भुते घालविली व सर्व प्रकारच्या रोग्यांना बरे केले

¹⁶When evening came, they brought to him many possessed with demons. He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick;

¹⁷यशया संदेष्ट्यांच्या द्वारे जे सांगितले होते ते पूर्ण व्हावे म्हणून असे झाले. यशयाने असे म्हटले होते: “त्याने आमच्या व्याधी स्वत:वर घेतल्या, त्याने आमचे रोग वाहिले.” यशया 53:4

¹⁷that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He took our infirmities, and bore our diseases.” Isaiah 53:4

¹⁸आपल्या भोवती खूप लोक आहेत हे येशूने पाहिले तेव्हा त्याने त्यांना सरोवराच्या पलीकडे जाण्याची आज्ञा केली.

¹⁸Now when Jesus saw great multitudes around him, he gave the order to depart to the other side.

¹⁹मग एक नियमशास्त्राचा शिक्षक त्याच्याकडे आला आणि म्हणाला, ‘गरुजी, आपण जेथे जाल तेथे मी आपल्या मागे येईन.”

¹⁹A scribe came, and said to him, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”

²⁰येशू त्याला म्हणाला, “कोल्ह्यांना राहायला बिळे आणि आकाशातील पाखरांना घरटी आहेत. परंतु मनुष्याच्या पुत्राला डोके सुद्धा टेकावयास जागा नाही.”

²⁰Jesus said to him, “The foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”

²¹मग येशूच्या शिष्यांपैकी आणखी एक जण येशूला म्हणाला, “प्रभु, पहिल्यांदा मला जाऊ द्या व माझ्या वडिलांना पुरून येऊ द्या.”

²¹Another of his disciples said to him, “Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father.”

²²पण येशू त्याला म्हणाला, “तू माझ्या मागे ये. जे मेलेले आहेत त्यांना त्यांच्या मेलेल्यांना पुरू दे.”

²²But Jesus said to him, “Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead.”

²³मग येशू नावेत गेल्यावर त्याच्यामागून त्याचे शिष्य नावेत गेले.

²³When he got into a boat, his disciples followed him.

²⁴अचानक, समुद्रात इतके मोठे वादळ झाले की, नाव लाटांमध्ये पूर्णपणे गुरफटून गेली. आणि येशू तर नावेत झोपला होता.

²⁴Behold, a violent storm came up on the sea, so much that the boat was covered with the waves, but he was asleep.

²⁵तेव्हा शिष्य त्याच्याकडे गेले आणि त्यांनी त्याला जागे केले व म्हटले, ‘प्रभु, आम्हांला वाचवा, आपण बुडत आहोत.”

²⁵They came to him, and woke him up, saying, “Save us, Lord! We are dying!”

²⁶येशूने उत्तर दिले, ‘तुम्ही विश्वासात किती उणे आहात रे? तुम्ही का घाबरता?’ मग त्याने उठून वारा व लाटा यांना अधिकारवाणीने शांत होण्यास सांगितले. वारा थांबला. समुद्र अगदी शांत झाला.

²⁶He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then he got up, rebuked the wind and the sea, and there was a great calm.

²⁷तेव्हा लोकांना मोठे आश्चर्य वाटले, ते म्हणाले, “हा कोणत्या प्रकारचा मनुष्य आहे? वारा व समुद्र देखील त्याचे ऐकतात.”

²⁷The men marveled, saying, “What kind of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”

²⁸मग येशू समुद्राच्या पलीकडे असलेल्या गरदेकरांच्या देशात आला, तेव्हा दोन भूतबाधा झालेली माणसे स्मशानातून येशूकडे आली. ही माणसे स्मशानातील कबरांध्ये राहत होती. ती फार भेसूर होती, त्यामुळे कोणीही त्यांच्या वाटेला जात नसे.

²⁸When he came to the other side, into the country of the Gergesenes, NU reads “Gadarenes” two people possessed by demons met him there, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that nobody could pass that way.

²⁹ती दोघे येशूकडे आली व म्हणाली, ‘देवाच्या पुत्रा, तुला आमच्याकडून काय पाहिजे? नेमलेल्या वेळेपूर्वीच तू आम्हांला शिक्षा करायला आलास काय?’

²⁹Behold, they cried out, saying, “What do we have to do with you, Jesus, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?”

³⁰त्या ठिकाणापासून थोड्या अंतरावर डुकरांचा एक कळप चरत होता.

³⁰Now there was a herd of many pigs feeding far away from them.

³¹ती भुते त्याला विनंती करून लागली, ती म्हणाली, “जर तू आम्हाला ह्यांच्यामधून काढून टाकणार असशील तर आम्हांला त्या डुकरांच्या कळपात जाऊ दे,

³¹The demons begged him, saying, “If you cast us out, permit us to go away into the herd of pigs.”

³²तेव्हा तो त्यांना म्हणाला, ‘जा.’ मग ती त्यांच्यामधून निघून डुकरांमध्ये गेली. तेव्हा तो संपूर्ण कळप कड्यावरून खाली धावत जाऊन पाण्यात बुडाला.

³²He said to them, “Go!” They came out, and went into the herd of pigs: and behold, the whole herd of pigs rushed down the cliff into the sea, and died in the water.

³³मग त्यांना चारणारे पळाले व त्यांनी नगरात जाऊन सर्वांना हे वर्तमान, तसेच भूतबाधा झालेल्यांचे काय झाले तेही सांगितले.

³³Those who fed them fled, and went away into the city, and told everything, including what happened to those who were possessed with demons.

³⁴तेव्हा सर्व शहर येशूला भेटायला निघाले; आणि जेव्हा त्यांनी त्याला पाहिले तेव्हा येशूने त्यांच्या प्रदेशातून निघून जावे अशी विनंती त्यांनी त्याला केली.

³⁴Behold, all the city came out to meet Jesus. When they saw him, they begged that he would depart from their borders.
