¹प्रभु तू सदैव आमचे घर बनून राहिला आहेस.

¹ Lord, The word translated “Lord” is “Adonai.” you have been our dwelling place for all generations.

²देवा, पर्वत जन्मण्याआधी आणि पृथ्वी व जग निर्माण होण्याआधी तूच देव होतास देवा, तू पूर्वी होतास आणि पुढे देखील असशील.

²Before the mountains were brought forth, before you had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, you are God.

³तूच लोकांना या जगात आणतोस आणि तूच त्यांची पुन्हा माती करतोस.

³You turn man to destruction, saying, “Return, you children of men.”

⁴तुझ्यासाठी हजारो वर्षे म्हणजे कालचा दिवस, कालची रात्र.

⁴For a thousand years in your sight are just like yesterday when it is past, like a watch in the night.

⁵तू आम्हाला झाडून टाकतोस. आमचे आयुष्य स्वप्नासारखे आहे. सकाळ झाली की आम्ही मेलेलो असतो. आम्ही गवतासारखे आहोत.

⁵You sweep them away as they sleep. In the morning they sprout like new grass.

⁶गवत सकाळी उगवते आणि संध्याकाळीते वाळते व मरणाला टेकते.

⁶In the morning it sprouts and springs up. By evening, it is withered and dry.

⁷देवा, तू रागावतोस तेव्हा आमचा नाश होतो. आम्हाला तुझ्या रागाची भीती वाटते.

⁷For we are consumed in your anger. We are troubled in your wrath.

⁸तुला आमच्या सर्व पापांची माहिती आहे. देवा, तू आमचे प्रत्येक गुप्त पाप पाहतोस.

⁸You have set our iniquities before you, our secret sins in the light of your presence.

⁹तुझा राग आमचे आयुष्य संपवू शकतो एखाद्या कुजबुजी सारखे आमचे आयुष्य विरुन जाऊ शकते.

⁹For all our days have passed away in your wrath. We bring our years to an end as a sigh.

¹⁰आम्ही कदाचित् 70 वर्षे जगू आणि जरा सशक्त असलो तर 80 वर्षे. आमचे आयुष्य कठोर परिश्रम आणि दु:ख यांनी भरलेले आहे आणि नंतर आमचे आयुष्य अवचित् संपते आणि आम्ही उडून जातो.

¹⁰The days of our years are seventy, or even by reason of strength eighty years; yet their pride is but labor and sorrow, for it passes quickly, and we fly away.

¹²आमचे आयुष्य खरोखरच किती छोटे आहे ते आम्हाला शिकव म्हणजे आम्ही खरेखुरे शहाणे बनू शकू.

¹²So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

¹³परमेश्वरा, नेहमी आमच्याकडे परत ये तुझ्या सेवकाशी दयेने वाग.

¹³Relent, Yahweh! “Yahweh” is God’s proper Name, sometimes rendered “LORD” (all caps) in other translations. How long? Have compassion on your servants!

¹⁴तुझ्या प्रेमाने आम्हांला रोज सकाळी न्हाऊ घाल. आम्हाला सुखी होऊ दे आणि समाधानाने आयुष्य जगू दे.

¹⁴Satisfy us in the morning with your loving kindness, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

¹⁵तू आम्हाला आयुष्यात खूप संकटे आणि खिन्नता दिलीस. आता आम्हांला सुखी कर.

¹⁵Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us, for as many years as we have seen evil.

¹⁶तू तुझ्या सेवकांसाठी कोणत्या अद्भुत गोष्टी करु शकतोस ते त्यांना बघू दे.

¹⁶Let your work appear to your servants; your glory to their children.

¹⁷देवा, प्रभु, आमच्यावर दया कर. आम्ही जे जे करतो त्यात आम्हाला यश दे.

¹⁷Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us; establish the work of our hands for us; yes, establish the work of our hands.
