¹မြေကြီးသားအပေါင်းတို့သည် ဘာသာတမျိုးတည်း။ စကားတမျိုးတည်းရှိကြသည်ဖြစ်၍၊

¹The whole earth was of one language and of one speech.

²အရှေ့မျက်နှာမှ ခရီးသွားသဖြင့်၊ ရှိနာပြည်၌ မြေညီရာအရပ် ကိုတွေ့၍ နေရာချကြ၏။

²It happened, as they traveled east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they lived there.

³သူတို့ကလည်း လာကြ။ အုတ်လုပ်၍ ခိုင်မာစွာ ဖုတ်ကြကုန်အံ့ဟု၊ တယောက်ကို တယောက် ပြောကြ၏။ ထိုသို့ ကျောက်အရာ၌ အုတ်ကို၎င်း၊ သရွတ်အရာ၌ ရေညှိတမျိုးကို၎င်း ရပြီးလျှင်၊

³They said one to another, “Come, let’s make bricks, and burn them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they used tar for mortar.

⁴လာကြ၊ မြေကြီးတပြင်လုံး၌ အရပ်ရပ်ကွဲပြားမည်ကို စိုးရိမ်၍၊ မြို့ကို၎င်း၊ မိုဃ်းကောင်းကင်သို့မှီရသော ရဲတိုက်ကို၎င်း တည်လုပ်သဖြင့်၊ ကျော်စောကိတ္တိရှိစေခြင်းငှါ ပြုကြကုန်အံ့ဟု ပြောဆိုကြ၏။

⁴They said, “Come, let’s build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top reaches to the sky, and let’s make ourselves a name, lest we be scattered abroad on the surface of the whole earth.”

⁵ထိုသို့ လူသားတို့တည်လုပ်သော မြို့နှင့် ရဲတိုက်ကို ကြည့်ရှုခြင်းငှါ၊ ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ဆင်းသက်တော် မူ၏။

⁵Yahweh came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men built.

⁶ထာဝရဘုရားက ကြည့်ရှုလော့။ လူတမျိုးတည်း၊ စကားတမျိုးတည်း ရှိသည်ဖြစ်၍၊ သူတို့သည် ဤအမှုကို အဦးပြုကြ၏။ ယခုကြံစည်သမျှတို့ကို အဆီးအတားမရှိ၊ သူတို့ပြုကြလိမ့်မည်။

⁶Yahweh said, “Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is what they begin to do. Now nothing will be withheld from them, which they intend to do.

⁷လာကြ၊ ဆင်းသက်ကြကုန်အံ့။ သူတို့သည် အချင်းချင်း နားမလည်စေခြင်းငှါ၊ သူတို့စကားကို ရှုပ်ထွေးကြကုန်အံ့ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

⁷Come, let’s go down, and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.”

⁸ထိုသို့ထာဝရဘုရားသည် သူတို့ကို မြေကြီးတပြင်လုံး၌ အရပ်ရပ်ကွဲပြားစေတော်မူသဖြင့်၊ သူတို့သည် မြို့ကိုမတည်ပဲ နေကြ၏။

⁸So Yahweh scattered them abroad from there on the surface of all the earth. They stopped building the city.

⁹သို့ဖြစ်၍ ထိုမြို့၌ ထာဝရဘုရားသည် မြေကြီးသားအပေါင်းတို့၏ စကားကိုရှုပ်ထွေး၍၊ သူတို့ကို မြေကြီးတပြင်လုံး၌ အရပ်ရပ် ကွဲပြားစေတော်မူသောကြောင့် ထိုမြို့သည် ဗာဗုလုံမြို့ဟူ၍ တွင်သတည်း။

⁹Therefore its name was called Babel, because there Yahweh confused the language of all the earth. From there, Yahweh scattered them abroad on the surface of all the earth.

¹⁰ရှေမ၏ သားစဉ်မြေးဆက်ဟူမူကား၊ ရှေမသည် အသက်တရာရှိ၍၊ ရေလွှမ်းမိုးသောနောက်နှစ်နှစ်ကြာ သော်၊ သားအာဖာဇဒ်ကို မြင်လေ၏။

¹⁰This is the history of the generations of Shem. Shem was one hundred years old and became the father of Arpachshad two years after the flood.

¹¹အာဖာဇဒ်ဘွားမြင်သောနောက်၊ ရှေမသည် အနှစ်ငါးရာအသက်ရှင်၍ သားသမီးများကို မြင်လေ၏။

¹¹Shem lived five hundred years after he became the father of Arpachshad, and became the father of sons and daughters.

¹²အာဖာဇဒ်သည် အသက်သုံးဆယ်ငါးနှစ်ရှိသော်၊ သားရှာလကို မြင်လေ၏။

¹²Arpachshad lived thirty-five years and became the father of Shelah.

¹³ရှာလဘွားမြင်သောနောက်၊ အာဖာဇဒ်သည် အနှစ်လေးရာသုံး နှစ်အသက်ရှင်၍၊ သားသမီးများကို မြင်လေ၏။

¹³Arpachshad lived four hundred three years after he became the father of Shelah, and became the father of sons and daughters.

¹⁴ရှာလသည် အသက်သုံးဆယ်ရှိသော်၊ သားဟေဗာကို မြင်လေ၏။

¹⁴Shelah lived thirty years, and became the father of Eber:

¹⁵ဟေဗာဘွားမြင်သောနောက်၊ ရှာလသည် အနှစ်လေးရာသုံးနှစ် အသက်ရှင်၍၊ သားသမီးများကို မြင်လေ၏။

¹⁵and Shelah lived four hundred three years after he became the father of Eber, and became the father of sons and daughters.

¹⁶ဟေဗာသည် အသက်သုံးဆယ့်လေးနှစ်ရှိသော်၊ သားဖာလက်ကို မြင်လေ၏။

¹⁶Eber lived thirty-four years, and became the father of Peleg.

¹⁷ဖာလက်ဘွားမြင်သောနောက်၊ ဟေဗာသည် အနှစ်လေးရာသုံးဆယ်အသက်ရှင်၍၊ သားသမီးများကို မြင်လေ၏။

¹⁷Eber lived four hundred thirty years after he became the father of Peleg, and became the father of sons and daughters.

¹⁸ဖာလက်သည် အသက်သုံးဆယ်ရှိသော်၊ သားရာဂေါကို မြင်လေ၏။

¹⁸Peleg lived thirty years, and became the father of Reu.

¹⁹ရာဂေါဘွားမြင်သောနောက်၊ ဖာလက်သည် အနှစ်နှစ်ရာကိုးနှစ်အသက်ရှင်၍၊ သားသမီးများကို ဘွားမြင်လေ၏။

¹⁹Peleg lived two hundred nine years after he became the father of Reu, and became the father of sons and daughters.

²⁰ရာဂေါသည် အသက်သုံးဆယ်နှစ်နှစ်ရှိသော်၊ သားစေရောက်ကို မြင်လေ၏။

²⁰Reu lived thirty-two years, and became the father of Serug.

²¹စေရောက်ဘွားမြင်သောနောက်၊ ရာဂေါသည် အနှစ်နှစ်ရာခုနစ်နှစ်အသက်ရှင်၍၊ သားသမီးများကို မြင်လေ၏။

²¹Reu lived two hundred seven years after he became the father of Serug, and became the father of sons and daughters.

²²စေရောက်သည်အသက်သုံးဆယ်ရှိသော်၊ သားနာကိုခေါ်ကို မြင်လေ၏။

²²Serug lived thirty years, and became the father of Nahor.

²³နာခေါ်ဘွားမြင်သောနောက်၊ စေရောက်သည် အနှစ်နှစ်ရာ အသက်ရှင်၍ သားသမီးများကို မြင်လေ၏။

²³Serug lived two hundred years after he became the father of Nahor, and became the father of sons and daughters.

²⁴Nahor lived twenty-nine years, and became the father of Terah.

²⁵တေရဘွားမြင်သောနောက်၊ နာခေါ်သည် အနှစ်တရာတဆယ်ကိုးနှစ်အသက်ရှင်၍၊ သားသမီးများကို မြင်လေ၏။

²⁵Nahor lived one hundred nineteen years after he became the father of Terah, and became the father of sons and daughters.

²⁶တေရသည် အသက်ခုနစ်ဆယ်ရှိသော်၊ သားအာဗြံ၊ နာခေါ်၊ ခါရန်တို့ကိုမြင်လေ၏။

²⁶Terah lived seventy years, and became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran.

²⁷တေရ၏ သားစဉ်မြေးဆက်ဟူမူကား၊ တေရသည် အာဗြံ၊ နာခေါ်၊ ခါရန်တို့ကိုမြင်လေ၏။

²⁷Now this is the history of the generations of Terah. Terah became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran. Haran became the father of Lot.

²⁸ခါရန်သည်လည်း လောတကိုမြင်လေ၏။ ခါရန်သည်၊ အဘတေရမသေမှီ၊ မိမိဘွားရာအရပ်၊ ခါလဒဲပြည်သားတို့နေသော ဥရမြို့၌ သေလေ၏။

²⁸Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his birth, in Ur of the Chaldees.

²⁹အာဗြံနှင့် နာခေါ်သည် မယားကို ယူ၍၊ အာဗြံ၏ မယားကား၊ စာရဲအမည်ရှိ၏။ နာခေါ်၏ မယားကား၊ ခါရန်၏သမီးမိလခါ အမည်ရှိ၏။ ခါရန်သည် မိလခါနှင့် ဣသခ၏အဘဖြစ်သတည်း။

²⁹Abram and Nahor took wives. The name of Abram’s wife was Sarai, and the name of Nahor’s wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran who was also the father of Iscah.

³⁰စာရဲမူကား မြုံသော မိန်းမဖြစ်၍ သားသမီးမရှိ။

³⁰Sarai was barren. She had no child.

³¹တေရသည် သားအာဗြံကို၎င်း၊ ခါရန်၏သား ဖြစ်သောမြေး လောတကို၎င်း၊ သားအာဗြံ၏မယားဖြစ် သော မိမိ ချွေးမစာရဲကို၎င်းခေါ်၍၊ သူတို့သည် ခါနာန်ပြည်သို့ သွားခြင်းငှါ၊ ခါလဒဲပြည်သားတို့နေသော ဥရမြို့မှ ထွက်သဖြင့်၊ ခါရန်မြို့သို့ ရောက်၍နေကြ၏။

³¹Terah took Abram his son, Lot the son of Haran, his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram’s wife. They went from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan. They came to Haran and lived there.

³²တေရသည် အသက်နှစ်ပေါင်းနှစ်ရာငါးနှစ်ရှိသော်၊ ခါရန်မြို့၌ သေလေ၏။

³²The days of Terah were two hundred five years. Terah died in Haran.
