1तब परमेश्वर भुँवरीबाट अय्यूबसित बोल्नु भयो। परमेश्वरले भन्नुभयोः
1Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
2“त्यो अज्ञानी मानिस को हो जसले यस्ता मूर्ख कुराहरू गरिरहेको छ?”
2Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?
3अय्यूब, कम्मर कस, मेरो प्रश्नको उत्तर दिनलाई तैयार बस।
3Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.
4“तिमी कहाँ थियौ जब मैले पृथ्वी सृष्टि गरे? यदि तिमी यो जान्दछौ भने मलाई जवाफ देऊ।
4Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.
5यदि तिमी साह्रै चतुर छौ भने, संसार यति ठूलो हुनुपर्छ भनेर कसले निर्णय गर्यो? कसले संसारलाई नापजोख गर्यो?
5Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?
6पृथ्वीको आधारशिला के हो? कसले यसमा प्रथम ढुङ्गा राख्यो?
6Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;
7जब त्यसो गरियो, बिहान ताराहरूले एकैसाथ गाए अनि दूतहरू आनन्दले कराए।
7When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
8अय्यूब, जब समुद्र पृथ्वीमा गहिरोबाट बग्यो त्यसलाई रोक्न कसले द्वारहरू बन्द गर्यो?
8Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb?
9त्यसबेला यसलाई मैले बादलहरूले ढाकें अनि अँधेरोमा लपेटें।
9When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it,
10मैले समुद्रको सीमा बाँधें अनि बन्द द्वारहरूको पछिल्तिर राखें।
10And brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors,
11मैले समुद्रलाई भनें, ‘तँ यतिसम्म आउन सक्छस, अरू बेशी होइन। यसरी तिम्रो अंहकारी छालहरू रोकिनेछ।’
11And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?
12अय्यूब, के तिमीले आफ्नो जीवनमा कहिल्यै बिहानलाई शुरू हुने आज्ञा दिएको थियौ अथवा दिनलाई शुरू हुने आज्ञा गर्यौ?
12Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place;
13अय्यूब, के तिमीले कहिले बिहानको उज्यालोलाई पृथ्वी समात भन्यौ अनि दुष्ट मानिसहरूलाई लुकेका ठाउँहरूमा भयभीत पार्यौ।
13That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?
14बिहानको उज्यालोले पहाडहरू र खाल्डाहरू देखिन सजिलो गराइदिन्छ जब दिनको उज्यालो पृथ्वीमा आउँछ, ती ठाउँहरूका आकारहरू लुगाको मुजाहरू जस्तै हुन्छन। नरम माटोले टाँचाको मुनि आकार लिए जस्तै पृथ्वीले आकार धारण गर्छ।
14It is turned as clay to the seal; and they stand as a garment.
15दुष्ट मानिसहरूले उज्यालो मन पराउँदैनन्। किनभने जब उज्यालो फैलिन्छ ती दुष्ट मानिसहरूले खराब कर्म गर्न वाधा पाउँछन्।
15And from the wicked their light is withholden, and the high arm shall be broken.
16अय्यूब, तिमी कहिले समुद्रको गहिरो भागमा पुगेको छौ जहाँबाट समुद्र शुरू हुन्छ? तिमी कहिले समुद्रको सतहमा हिंडेकाछौं?
16Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? or hast thou walked in the search of the depth?
17अय्यूब तिमीले मृत्युको कालो ठाउँमा डोर्याउने द्वारहरू कहिले देखेका छौ? तिमीले मृत्युलोकमा लैजाने द्वारहरू देखेका छौ?
17Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?
18अय्यूब, पृथ्वी कति विस्तृत छ के तिमी साँच्चै जान्दछौ? यदि तिमी यी सारा कुराहरू जान्दछौ भने मलाई भन।
18Hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all.
19अय्यूब, प्रकाश कहाँबाट आउने गर्छ? अन्धकार कहाँबाट आउँदछ?
19Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof,
20अय्यूब, के तिमी प्रकाश र अन्धकार कहाँबाट आए तिनीहरू त्यतैतिर फर्काउन सक्छौ? के तिमी जान्दछौ कसरी त्यस ठाउँमा जान पर्छ?
20That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and that thou shouldest know the paths to the house thereof?
21निःसन्देह तिमी ती कुराहरू जान्दछौ, अय्यूब। तिमी धेरै बृद्ध र ज्ञानी छौ। जब मैले ती कुराहरू बनाउदै थिए तिमी त्यही थियौ?
21Knowest thou it, because thou wast then born? or because the number of thy days is great?
22“अय्यूब, तिमी कहिले त्यो भण्डार भित्र गएका छौ जहाँ मैले हिऊँ र असिना राख्छु?
22Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail,
23मैले हिऊँ र असिना संकट र लडाइँ - युद्धको समयको लागि बचाएर राखेको छु।
23Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?
24तिमी त्यस ठाउँमा कहिले गएका छौ जहाँबाट घाम उदाउँछ र जहाँबाट पूर्वी हावा पृथ्वीमा बहन्छ?
24By what way is the light parted, which scattereth the east wind upon the earth?
25अय्यूब, कसले आकाशमा हात्तीसुँढे पानी पार्न नहरहरू खने? कसले आँधी वेरी आउने बाटो बनाए?
25Who hath divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder;
26कसले मानिसहरू नबस्ने ठाउँमा पानी पर्ने बनायो?
26To cause it to rain on the earth, where no man is; on the wilderness, wherein there is no man;
27त्यो रित्तो ठाउँ पनि पानीले भूमिलाई प्रशस्त भिजाउँछ अनि घाँस उम्रन थाल्दछ।
27To satisfy the desolate and waste ground; and to cause the bud of the tender herb to spring forth?
28के बर्षाको पिता छ जसले शीतका थोपाहरू उब्जाउँदछ?
28Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of dew?
29के हिंऊको आमा छ? जसले असिनालाई जन्म दिन्छ?
29Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it?
30पानी ढुङ्गा भन्दा पनि कडा हुन्छ अनि महासागरको सतह जम्छ।
30The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.
31अय्यूब, के तिमी सप्तऋषि तारालाई बाँध्न सक्छौ? के तिमी मृगशीराको बन्धन खोल्न सक्छौ?
31Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?
32के तिमी ठीक समयमा ताराको झुण्डलाई प्रकट गराउन सक्छौ? अथवा के तिमी भालूको बच्चाहरूलाई खेलाउन सक्छौ?
32Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons?
33के तिमीले आकाश नियन्त्रण गर्ने नियमहरू जान्दछौ? के तिमीले तिनीहरूलाई पृथ्वी शासन गर्ने बनाउन सक्छौ?
33Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?
34अय्यूब के तिमी बादलाई चिच्याउन सक्छौ अनि आफूलाई पानीले छोप भनी आदेश दिन सक्छौ?
34Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, that abundance of waters may cover thee?
35के तिमीले बिजुलीलाई आदेश गर्न सक्छौ, “हामी यहाँ छौ। महाशय! तपाईं के चाहनु हुन्छ? के तिमी जहाँ चाहन्छौ बिजुलीलाई पठाउन सक्छौ?
35Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go and say unto thee, Here we are?
36अय्यूब, मानिसहरूलाई ज्ञानी कसले बनायो? कसले ज्ञान तिनीहरूको हृदयमा पसायो?
36Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who hath given understanding to the heart?
37त्यस्तो ज्ञानी कस्को छ जसले बादल गन्न सक्छ अनि कसले डिम्का लगाएर बादलबाट पानी पार्न सक्छ?
37Who can number the clouds in wisdom? or who can stay the bottles of heaven,
38यसैले धूलो हिलो बनिन्छ र मैला ढिकाहरू एकसाथ टाँसिन्छ।
38When the dust groweth into hardness, and the clods cleave fast together?
39अय्यूब के तिमीले सिंहहरूको लागि भोजन पाउँछौ? के तिनीहरूका भोका बच्चाहरूलाई खुवाउन सक्छौ?
39Wilt thou hunt the prey for the lion? or fill the appetite of the young lions,
40ती सिंहहरू आफ्ना गुफामा लडिरहेका छन्। आफ्नो शिकारमाथि आक्रमण गर्न घाँसमाथि थ्याच्च बसी तयार भएका छन्।
40When they couch in their dens, and abide in the covert to lie in wait?
41जब त्यसका बच्चाहरू क्षुधातुर भएर परमेश्वरलाई पुर्कादा भोजनको खोजीमा डुलिरहेको कागलाई कसले खुवाउँछ?
41Who provideth for the raven his food? when his young ones cry unto God, they wander for lack of meat.
