1दमीशकको विषयमा यो दुःखको सन्देश हो। परमप्रभुले यी कुराहरू दमीशकमा घटनेछ भनेर भन्नु हुन्छः “दमीशक अहिले शहर हो तर त्यो नष्ट हुनेछ। दमीशकमा खाली भग्नावशेषहरू मात्र रहनेछ।
1The burden of Damascus. Lo, Damascus is taken away from [being] a city, And it hath been a heap — a ruin.
2मानिसहरू अरोएर शहरहरूमा त्यागेर जानेछन्। भेंडाका बथानहरू ती शुन्य शहरहरूमा स्वतंत्र भएर घुम्नेछन्; त्यहाँ तिनीहरूलाई सताउने कोही पनि हुने छैन्।
2Forsaken are the cities of Aroer, For droves they are, and they have lain down, And there is none troubling.
3एप्रैम शहरहरूको किल्ला ध्वंश हुने छ। दमीशकको शासन अन्त हुनेछ। जुन घट्ना इस्राएलमा भएको थियो त्यहि घटना अराममा हुनेछ। अनि प्रमुख मानिसहरू हटेर जानेछन्।” सेनाहरूका परमप्रभुले भन्नुभयो कि ती कुराहरू घट्नेछ।
3And ceased hath the fortress from Ephraim, And the kingdom from Damascus, And the remnant of Aram are as the honour of the sons of Israel, The affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts!
4त्यसबेला याकूबको सम्पत्ति नाश हुनेछ। याकूब बीमार मानिस जस्तो हुनेछ अनि उ कमजोर र दुब्लो हुनेछ।
4And it hath come to pass, in that day, Wax poor doth the honour of Jacob, And the fatness of his flesh doth wax lean.
5त्यस समय रफाईमको वेंसीमा बाली भित्र्याउने समय जस्तै हुनेछ। कर्मीहरूले खेतमा सप्रेको बाली थुर्पाछन्। तब तिनीहरूको बोटहरूबाट बाला टिप्छन अनि अन्न बटुल्छन्।
5And it hath come to pass, As the gathering by the reaper of the standing corn, And his arm the ears reapeth, And it hath come to pass, As the gathering of the ears in the valley of Rephaim,
6त्यसबेला जैतून पाकेको समय जस्तै हुनेछ। मानिसहरू जैतूनको बोटबाट जैतूनहरू मात्र टिप्छन्। तर केही जैतूनहरू मात्र रूखको टुप्पामा रहन्छन्। लगभग चार वा पाँचवटा जैतून रूखको हाँगाहरूमा रहन्छन्। त्यस्तै घटनाहरू ती शहरहरूमा हुनेछ। सेनाहरूका परमप्रभु यसो भन्नु हुन्छ।
6And left in him have been gleanings, As the compassing of an olive, Two — three berries on the top of a branch, Four — five on the fruitful boughs, The affirmation of Jehovah, God of Israel!
7त्यसबेला, मानिसहरूले परमेश्वरलाई मास्तिर हेर्नेछन् जसले उनीहरूलाई सृष्टि गर्नुभयो। र तिनीहरूका आखाँ इस्राएलका परमपवित्रतिर लागिरहनेछ।
7In that day doth man look to His Maker, Yea, his eyes to the Holy One of Israel look,
8मानिसहरू आफैले रचना गरेका महान कुराहरूमा विश्वास गर्ने छैनन्। तिनीहरू ती विशेष बगैंचाहरू र वेदीहरूमा जाने छैनन् जुन तिनीहरूले झूटा देवी-देवताहरूकालागि बनाए।
8And he looketh not unto the altars. The work of his own hands, And that which his own fingers made He seeth not — the shrines and the images.
9त्यसबेला शक्तिशाली शहरहरू सबै रित्तो हुनेछन्। ती शहर यी पर्वतहरू जङ्गल हुनेछन् जस्तो इस्राएलका मानिसहरू त्यस भूमिमा आउनु अघि हुने गर्थ्यो बितेका दिनहरूमा त्यहाँका मानिसहरू भागेका थिए। किनभने त्यहाँ इस्राएलीहरू आउँदैथे। फेरि भविष्यमा पनि, त्यो देश रित्तो हुनेछ।
9In that day are the cities of his strength As the forsaken thing of the forest, And the branch that they have left, Because of the sons of Israel, It also hath been a desolation.
10यस्तो घटना हुनेछ, किनभने तिमीहरूले परमेश्वरलाई जसले तिमीहरूलाई बचाँउनु हुन्छ भुल्यौ। परमेश्वर नै तिमीहरूका सुरक्षाको ठाउँ हुनुहुन्छ भनेर तिमीहरूले सम्झेनौ। तिमीले टाढा-टाढाबाट एकदम राम्रा खालका दाखका बिरूवाहरू ल्यायौ। तिमीले ती दाखका बिरूवाहरू रोप्न सक्छौ तर तिनीहरू सर्दैनन्।
10Because thou hast forgotten the God of thy salvation, And the rock of thy strength hast not remembered, Therefore thou plantest plants of pleasantness, And with a strange slip sowest it,
11तिमीले एक दिन दाखका बिरूहरू रोप्ने छौ र बढाउने चेष्टा गर्नेछौ। अर्को दिन ती बिरूवाहरू बढन शुरू गर्छन्। तर फसल उठाउने गर्यौ आर्को दिन ती बिरूवाहरूले फलदिन थाले। तर फसल काट्ने बेलामा, बोटहरूबाट फलहरू बटुल्न जानेछौ, अनि तिमीहरूले प्रत्येक कुरो मृत देख्नेछौ। एउटा रोगले सबै बिरूवारू मार्नेछ।
11In the day thy plant thou causest to become great, And in the morning thy seed makest to flourish, A heap [is] the harvest in a day of overflowing, And of mortal pain.
12धेरै धेरै मानिसहरूलाई सुन! तिनीहरू समुद्रमा उठेका छाल जस्तै चिच्याउँदै रोइरहेका छन्। ती हल्लाहरूलाई सुन, ती हल्लाहरू समुद्रमा छालहरू उर्लेको आवाजहरू जस्ता छन्।
12Wo [to] the multitude of many peoples, As the sounding of seas they sound; And [to] the wasting of nations, As the wasting of mighty waters they are wasted.
13अनि मानिसहरू ती छालहरू जस्तै हुनेछन्। परमेश्वरले तिनीहरूलाई हकारेर बोल्नु हुनेछ अनि तिनीहरू टाढा भाग्नेछन् मानिसहरू बतासले खेद्दै उडाई लैजाने भुस जस्ता हुने छन्। मानिसहरू हुरीले उखेलेर उडाउने जङ्गली झारहरू जस्तै हुनेछन हुरी चल्नेछ र जङ्गली झारहरू उडाई लानेछ।
13Nations as the wasting of many waters are wasted, And He hath pushed against it, And it hath fled afar off, And been pursued as chaff of hills before wind, And as a rolling thing before a hurricane.
14त्यो रात मानिसहरू भयभीत हुनेछन्। बिहान हुन अघि केही छोडिएको हुने छैन। यसकारण हाम्रा शत्रुहरूले केही पनि पाउँने छैनन् अनि त्यहाँ केही हुनेछैन।
14At even-time, lo, terror, before morning it is not, This [is] the portion of our spoilers, And the lot of our plunderers!
