¹“अय्यूब, के तिमी जान्दछौ घोरलहरू कहिले जन्मन्छन्? के तिमीले नियालेको छौ कहिले मृगले आफ्नो बच्चा ब्याउँछ?

¹Hast thou known the time of The bearing of the wild goats of the rock? The bringing forth of hinds thou dost mark!

²के तिमी जान्दछौ कति महिनासम्म घोरले र मृगले आफ्ना पेटमा बच्चाहरू बोकी हिंडनु पर्छ? के तिमी जान्दछौ कति महिनामा तिनीहरूले ब्याउँछन्?

²Thou dost number the months they fulfil? And thou hast known the time of their bringing forth!

³जब तिनीहरूलाई प्रसव वेदना हुन्छ तिनीहरू निहुरिन्छ र बच्चा ब्याउँछन्।

³They bow down, Their young ones they bring forth safely, Their pangs they cast forth.

⁴ती पाठाहरू खुल्ला मैदानमा खेल्दै हुर्किन्छन्। त्यसपछि तिनीहरूले आफ्ना आमाहरू छाडदछन अनि कहिले फर्केर आउँदैनन्।

⁴Safe are their young ones, They grow up in the field, they have gone out, And have not returned to them.

⁵अय्यूब, कसले जङ्गली गधाहरूलाई छाडी दियो? कसले तिनीहरूका डोरीहरू खोली दियो अनि कसले तिनीहरूलाई स्वतन्त्र गरे?

⁵Who hath sent forth the wild ass free? Yea, the bands of the wild ass who opened?

⁶मैले ती जङ्गली गधाहरूलाई मरूभूमि घर जस्तै छोडिदिएँ। मैले तिनीहरूलाई बस्नको लागि नुन भएको ठाउँ छोडिदिंए।

⁶Whose house I have made the wilderness, And his dwellings the barren land,

⁷जङ्गली गधाहरू होहल्लालाई घीन गर्छ अनि कसैले पनि तिनीहरूलाई नियन्त्रण गर्न सक्तैन।

⁷He doth laugh at the multitude of a city, The cries of an exactor he heareth not.

⁸जङ्गली गधाहरू पहाड पर्वत तिर बस्छन त्यो तिनीहरूको चौउर नै हो जहाँ तिनीहरूले हरियो घाँस खोज्दछ।

⁸The range of mountains [is] his pasture, And after every green thing he seeketh.

⁹अय्यूब, के जङ्गली साँढेले तिम्रो सेवा गर्न राजी हुन्छ? के त्यो तिम्रो अन्न भण्डार हेरचाह गर्न राती बस्छ?

⁹Is a Reem willing to serve thee? Doth he lodge by thy crib?

¹⁰के एउटा जङ्गली साँढेले तिमीलाई गलामा डोरी बाँध्न दिन्छ ताकि तिमीले खेत जोत्न सक्छौ?

¹⁰Dost thou bind a Reem in a furrow [with] his thick band? Doth he harrow valleys after thee?

¹¹एउटा जङ्गली साँढे अति बलियो हुन्छ। तर तिम्रो काम गराउँनलाई त्यसमाथि विश्वास गर्न सक्छौ?

¹¹Dost thou trust in him because great [is] his power? And dost thou leave unto him thy labour?

¹²के खलाबाट धन उठाई ढुकुटीमा लान त्यो आउँछ भन्ने भरोसा गर्न सक्छौ?

¹²Dost thou trust in him That he doth bring back thy seed? And [to] thy threshing-floor doth gather [it]?

¹³शतुरमुर्ग उत्तेजित भई आफ्ना पंखेटाहरू फरफराउँछ तर शतुमूर्गा उड्न सक्तैन। यसको पंखेटाहरू र प्वाँखहरू सारसको जस्तो हुँदैन।

¹³The wing of the rattling ones exulteth, Whether the pinion of the ostrich or hawk.

¹⁴शतुरमुर्गले भूइँमा अण्डाहरू पार्दछ अनि बालुवामा न्यानो होस् भनि तिनीहरूलाई छोडिराख्छ।

¹⁴For she leaveth on the earth her eggs, And on the dust she doth warm them,

¹⁵शतुरमूर्गले कोही त्यसको फुलहरूमाथि हिडछ अथवा कुनै पशु त्यसमाथि हिडेर फुटाई देला भनि कुनै पर्वाह नै गर्दैन।

¹⁵And she forgetteth that a foot may press it, And a beast of the field tread it down.

¹⁶शतुरमूर्गले आफ्ना चल्लाहरूलाई आफ्नो होइन भने झैं त्याग्छे। त्यसले आफ्नो महत्वपूर्ण परिश्रमको कुनै पर्वाह नै गर्दिन।

¹⁶Her young ones it hath hardened without her, In vain [is] her labour without fear.

¹⁷किन? किनभने मैले शतुरमूर्गलाई बुद्धि दिइन। शथुरमूर्ग लठेप्रो हुन्छ अनि त्यसलाई त्यस्तै लाटो बनाइदिएँ।

¹⁷For God hath caused her to forget wisdom, And He hath not given a portion To her in understanding:

¹⁸तर जब शतुरमूर्ग दगुर्नलाई उठ्छे, ऊ घोडा र घोड सवारलाई तुच्छ ठान्छ, किनभने उ कुनै पनि घोडा भन्दा छिटो दर्गुछे।

¹⁸At the time on high she lifteth herself up, She laugheth at the horse and at his rider.

¹⁹अय्यूब के तिमीले घोडालाई बल दियौ? के तिमीले त्यसको घाँटीमाथि रौंहरू राख्यौ?

¹⁹Dost thou give to the horse might? Dost thou clothe his neck [with] a mane?

²⁰के तिमीले घोडालाई सलह जस्तो उफ्रेर टाढा जाने योग्य बनायौ? घोडा जोडले हिन्‌हिनाउँछ अनि मानिसहरूलाई त्रसित पार्दछन्।

²⁰Dost thou cause him to rush as a locust? The majesty of his snorting [is] terrible.

²¹घोडा खुशी हुन्छ किनभने त्यो बलियो छ। त्यसले आफ्नो खुट्टाले मैदानमा खोर्सिन्छ र युद्धभूमि तर्फ चाँडो दर्गुछ।

²¹They dig in a valley, and he rejoiceth in power, He goeth forth to meet the armour.

²²घोडाले डरको हाँसो उडाउँछ। त्यो डराउँदैन्। त्यो युद्धभूमिबाट चम्पट लाउँदैन।

²²He laugheth at fear, and is not affrighted, And he turneth not back from the face of the sword.

²³काँडको तरकस त्यसको छेउमा र्धररर आवाज गर्छ र त्यहाँ भाला र हतियारहरू घाममा टल्किन्छन्।

²³Against him rattle doth quiver, The flame of a spear, and a halbert.

²⁴घोडा एकदम उत्तेजित हुन्छ। त्यो मैदानमा चाँडो दर्गुछ। जब त्यसले बिगुल बजेको सुन्दछ त्यो रोकिन सक्तैन।

²⁴With trembling and rage he swalloweth the ground, And remaineth not stedfast Because of the sound of a trumpet.

²⁵जब बिकुलको आवाज गुञ्जिन्छ घोडा कराउँछ, ‘छिटो,’ उसले टाडैबाट युद्ध सुँध्ने गर्छ। उसको कप्तानहरूले कराउँदै दिएको आदेशहरू अनि युद्धभूमिका अन्य सबै आवाजहरू सुन्दछ।

²⁵Among the trumpets he saith, Aha, And from afar he doth smell battle, Roaring of princes and shouting.

²⁶अय्यूब, के तिमीले बाजलाई पंखेटा फिंजाएर दक्षिणतर्फ उड्न सिकायौ?

²⁶By thine understanding flieth a hawk? Spreadeth he his wings to the south?

²⁷के तिमी मात्र हौ जसले गिद्धलाई आकाश माथि माथि उडन सिकायौ। के तिमीले त्यसलाई उच्च पर्वतहरूमा त्यसको गुँड बनाउन सिकायौ?

²⁷At thy command goeth an eagle up high? Or lifteth he up his nest?

²⁸गिद्ध पर्वत र शिखरमा बस्दछ। चट्टान नै गिद्धको किल्ला हो।

²⁸A rock he doth inhabit, Yea, he lodgeth on the tooth of a rock, and fortress.

²⁹गिद्धले आफ्नो शिकार उच्च किल्लाबाट नियाल्दछ। गिद्धले एकदम टाढामा भएको शिकार देख्न सक्छ।

²⁹From thence he hath sought food, To a far off place his eyes look attentively,

³⁰जहाँ मरेका सिनुहरू हुन्छन त्यहाँ गिद्धहरू एकत्रित हुने गर्छन। अनि बच्चाहरूले रगत चुस्दछ।”

³⁰And his brood gulph up blood, And where the pierced [are] — there [is] he!
