¹तब अय्यूबले परमेश्वरलाई जवाफ दिए। अय्यूबले भने,

¹And Job answereth Jehovah and saith: —

²“परमप्रभु, म जान्दछु तपाईंले सब कुराहरू गर्न सक्नु हुन्छ। तपाईंले योजनाहरू बनाउनु हुन्छ, अनि कसैले पनि परिवर्तन गर्न वा रोक्न सक्तैन।

²Thou hast known that [for] all things Thou art able, And not withheld from Thee is [any] device:

³परमप्रभु, तपाईंले यो प्रश्न सोध्नुभयोः ‘को अज्ञानी मानिस हो जसले यस्ता अर्थहीन कुराहरू गर्यो?’ परमप्रभु, मैले ती कुराहरूको बारे बोलें जुन मैले बुझिनँ। मैले ती कुराहरू भनें जुन मेरो लागि बुझ्नु अति अचम्मित थियो।

³`Who [is] this, hiding counsel without knowledge?` Therefore, I have declared, and understand not, Too wonderful for me, and I know not.

⁴परमप्रभु, तपाईंले मलाई भन्नुभयो, ‘सुन अय्यूब, म भन्ने छु। म तिमीलाई प्रश्नहरू सोध्ने छु अनि तिमीले मलाई जवाफ दिनेछौ।’

⁴`Hear, I pray thee, and I — I do speak, I ask thee, and cause thou me to know.`

⁵परमप्रभु, बितेका दिनहरूमा, मैले तपाईं बारे सुनेको थिएँ तर अहिले तपाईंलाई मेरै आँखाले देखें।

⁵By the hearing of the ear I heard Thee, And now mine eye hath seen Thee.

⁶अनि परमप्रभु, म स्वयं नै लज्जित भएँ। परमप्रभु, म अत्यन्त दुःखी छु। मैले जे गरें त्यसको पश्चातापका निम्ति मैले आफैलाई धूलो र खरानीले पुर्दैछु।”

⁶Therefore do I loathe [it], And I have repented on dust and ashes.

⁷अय्यूबसँग बात-चीत गरिसके पछि, परमेश्वर तेमानीबाट आएका एलीपजसँग बोल्नु भयो। परमेश्वरले एलीपजलाई भन्नुभयो, “म तिमी साथै तिम्रो दुइ साथीहरूसँग रिसाएको छु। किन? किनभने तिमीहरूले मेरो विषयमा सही कुरा गरेनौ। तर अय्यूब मेरो सेवक हो। अय्यूबले मेरो विषयमा ठीक कुरा गर्छ।

⁷And it cometh to pass after Jehovah`s speaking these words unto Job, that Jehovah saith unto Eliphaz the Temanite, `Burned hath Mine anger against thee, and against thy two friends, because ye have not spoken concerning Me rightly, like My servant Job.

⁸यसकारण अब तिमीहरूले, सातवटा गोरूहरू र सातवटा भेडाहरू ल्याऊ। ती सब मेरो सेवक अय्यूबलाई देऊ। तिनीहरूलाई मार तिमीहरूका निम्ति होमबलि अर्पण गर। मेरो सेवक अय्यूबले तिमीहरूका लागि प्रार्थना गर्नेछ अनि त्यो प्रार्थनाको उत्तर दिनेछु। त्यसपछि म तिमीहरूलाई दण्ड दिने छैन जसको लागि तिमीहरू योग्य थियौ। तिमीहरूले ठीक कुराहरू मेरो बारेमा बोलेनौ तर मेरो सेवक अय्यूबले मेरो बारेमा ठीक कुराहरू गरे।”

⁸And now, take to you seven bullocks and seven rams, and go ye unto My servant Job, and ye have caused a burnt-offering to ascend for you; and Job My servant doth pray for you, for surely his face I accept, so as not to do with you folly, because ye have not spoken concerning Me rightly, like My servant Job.

⁹यसकारण तेमान बासिन्दा एलीपज अनि शुहबाट आएका बिल्दद साथै नाउँबाट आएका सोपरले परमप्रभु आज्ञा पालन गरे। त्यसपछि परमप्रभुले अय्यूबको प्रार्थनाको जवाफ दिनुभयो।

⁹And they go — Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, Zophar the Naamathite — and do as Jehovah hath spoken unto them; and Jehovah doth accept the face of Job.

¹⁰अय्यूबले आफ्ना मित्रहरूको लागि प्रार्थना गरे। अनि परमप्रभुले अय्यूबलाई फेरि सफल पार्नुभयो। परमेश्वरले उससँग भएको भन्दा दुइगुणा ज्यादा अय्यूबलाई दिनुभयो।

¹⁰And Jehovah hath turned [to] the captivity of Job in his praying for his friends, and Jehovah doth add [to] all that Job hath — to double.

¹¹तब अय्यूबका सारा दाज्यू-भाइ र दिदी-बहिनीहरू साथै अय्यूबलाई चिन्ने जान्ने सबै मानिसहरू उसको घरमा आए। तिनीहरूले अय्यूबसँग ठूलो भोज खाए तिनीहरूले अय्यूबलाई सान्त्वना दिए कारण परमप्रभुले अय्यूबलाई धेरै कष्ट दिनु भएको थियो। प्रत्येक मानिसले अय्यूबलाई चाँदीको टुक्रा र सुनका औंठी उपहार दिए।

¹¹And come unto him do all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all his former acquaintances, and they eat bread with him in his house, and bemoan him, and comfort him concerning all the evil that Jehovah had brought upon him, and they gave to him each one kesitah, and each one ring of gold.

¹²परमप्रभुले अय्यूबसँग शुरूमा भएको भन्दा बढी सम्पन्न हुने आशिर्वाद दिनुभयो। अय्यूबले 14,000 भेडा 6,000 ऊँटहरू, 2,000 गाईहरू अनि 1,000 पोथी गधाहरू पाए।

¹²And Jehovah hath blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning, and he hath fourteen thousand of a flock, and six thousand camels, and a thousand pairs of oxen, and a thousand she-asses.

¹³अय्यूबले सात भाई छोराहरू र तीन बहिनी छोरीहरू पनि पाए।

¹³And he hath seven sons and three daughters;

¹⁴अय्यूबले जेठी छोरीको नाउँ यमीमा माइली छोरीको नाउँ कसीआ र कन्छी छोरीको नाउँ केरेन-हप्पूक राखे।

¹⁴and he calleth the name of the one Jemima, and the name of the second Kezia, and the name of the third Keren-Happuch.

¹⁵अय्यूबका छोरीहरू त्यस ठाँउका अन्य स्त्रीहरू भन्दा सुन्दरी थिए। अनि अय्यूबले आफ्ना सम्पत्तिका केही अंश आफ्नी छोरीहरूलाई दिए। प्रत्येकले आफ्ना दाज्यू-भाइहरूले जस्तै बराबरीको रूपमा सम्पत्तिहरू पाए।

¹⁵And there have not been found women fair as the daughters of Job in all the land, and their father doth give to them an inheritance in the midst of their brethren.

¹⁶यसकारण अय्यूब अझ एक सय चालीस र्बषसम्म बाँचे। उनले आफ्ना नानीहरू, नाति-नातिनीहरू, पनाति-पनातुनीहरु, खनाति-खनातिनीहरु सबै हेर्न पाए।

¹⁶And Job liveth after this a hundred and forty years, and seeth his sons, and his sons` sons, four generations;

¹⁷अय्यूब अत्यन्त पूरा बूढेसकाल सम्म दीर्धायु भएर मरे।

¹⁷and Job dieth, aged and satisfied [with] days.
