1बुद्धिमान स्त्रीले आफ्नो घर निर्माण गर्छे, तर बुद्धिहीन स्त्रीले बनिएको घर आफ्नै हातले भत्काउँछे।
1Every wise woman hath builded her house, And the foolish with her hands breaketh it down.
2जुन मानिसको मार्ग सिधा छ, उसले परमप्रभुको सम्मान गर्छ तर जुन मानिसको मार्ग कुटिल छ उसले उहाँलाई घृणा गर्छ।
2Whoso is walking in his uprightness is fearing Jehovah, And the perverted [in] his ways is despising Him.
3मूर्खको कुराले उसकै ढाडमा लट्ठी बज्राउँछ, तर बुद्धिमानको कुराले उसलाई सुरक्षा गर्छ।
3In the mouth of a fool [is] a rod of pride, And the lips of the wise preserve them.
4जहाँ गोरूहरू हुँदैन त्यहाँ ढिकुटी खाली रहन्छ, अनि गोरूहरूको बलले नै अन्न प्रशस्त उब्जिन्छ।
4Without oxen a stall [is] clean, And great [is] the increase by the power of the ox.
5एकजना साँचो गवाहीले साँचो बोल्छ, तर झूटो गवाहीले सधैं झूटो नै बोलिरहन्छ।
5A faithful witness lieth not, And a false witness breatheth out lies.
6एक अभिमानी मानिसले ज्ञान खोजिरहन्छ, तर त्यसलाई भेट्दैन, तर एउटा ज्ञानी मानिसलाई बुद्धि सजिलै आउँछ।
6A scorner hath sought wisdom, and it is not, And knowledge to the intelligent [is] easy.
7मूर्खको संगतबाट तिमी सधैं टाढा बस, किनभने उसको बचनबाट तिमीले केही बुद्धि पाउँदैनौ।
7Go from before a foolish man, Or thou hast not known the lips of knowledge.
8ज्ञानी मानिसको ज्ञान यो हो कि कुन बाटोले उसलाई कता डोर्याउदैछ त्यो उसले बुझ्छ, तर मूर्ख मानिसको मूर्खताले आफैंलाई छलेको हुन्छ।
8The wisdom of the prudent [is] to understand his way, And the folly of fools [is] deceit.
9पाप निवारण गर्ने विचारमा मूर्ख मानिस हाँस्छ, तर त्यहाँ इमानदारी मानिसहरूको बीचमा सद्भाव पाइन्छ।
9Fools mock at a guilt-offering, And among the upright — a pleasing thing.
10यदि एकजना मानिस दुःखी भए उसले आफ्नो दुःख मात्र बुझ्छ, अनि यदि कोही खुशी छ भने, उसको खुशी उसले मात्र बुझ्छ।
10The heart knoweth its own bitterness, And with its joy a stranger doth not intermeddle.
11एक दुष्ट मानिसको घर ध्वंश हुनेछ, तर इमानदार मानिसको घर फलिफाप हुनेछ।
11The house of the wicked is destroyed, And the tent of the upright flourisheth.
12त्यहाँ एउटा यस्तो मार्ग पनि छ जसलाई मानिसहरूले सही भनी सम्झन्छन्, तर अन्त्यमा त्यस मार्गले मृत्युतिर डोर्याउँछ।
12There is a way — right before a man, And its latter end [are] ways of death.
13कुनै मानिस यदि उसको मनमा पीर भए पनि हाँसिरहनु सक्छ, तर हाँसी सक्दा पनि उसको पीर रहिरहन्छ।
13Even in laughter is the heart pained, And the latter end of joy [is] affliction.
14एकजना दुष्ट मानिस उसले गरेको खराब कार्यको फल भोग्छ अनि त्यसै गरी एउटा असल मानिसले गरेको असल कार्यको फल उसले पाउँछ।
14From his ways is the backslider in heart filled, And a good man — from his fruits.
15एकजना अनुभवरहित मानिसले आफूले सुनेको प्रत्येक कुरामा विश्वास गर्छ, तर एकजना ज्ञानी मानिसले उसले टेकेको प्रत्येक पाइलाको राम्ररी विचार गर्छ।
15The simple giveth credence to everything, And the prudent attendeth to his step.
16एकजना ज्ञानी मानिस सतर्क रहन्छ अनि दुःखहरूबाट तर्कन्छ, तर एकजना मूर्ख विश्वासको साथ यसै दुःखतिर अघि बढछ।
16The wise is fearing and turning from evil, And a fool is transgressing and is confident.
17चाँडो रिसाउने मानिसले मूर्खतापूर्ण कामहरू गर्छ अनि एकजना कुबाटोमा लाग्ने मानिस घृणित हुन्छ।
17Whoso is short of temper doth folly, And a man of wicked devices is hated.
18अज्ञानीले मूर्खता प्राप्त गर्नेछ, तर विवेकी मानिसहरूलाई ज्ञानको मुकुट लगाई दिइनेछ।
18The simple have inherited folly, And the prudent are crowned [with] knowledge.
19नराम्रा मानिसहरू असल मानिसहरूको अघि झुक्नु पर्छ अनि दुष्ट मानिसहरू धर्मी मानिसहरूको दैलोमा झुक्नुपर्छ।
19The evil have bowed down before the good, And the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
20गरीब मानिसहरूलाई तिनीहरूका छिमेकीहरूले पनि मन पराउँदैनन्। तर धनीका त धेरै मित्रहरू हुन्छन्।
20Even of his neighbour is the poor hated, And those loving the rich [are] many.
21जसले आफ्नो छिमेकिलाई हेला गर्छ उसले पाप गर्छ, तर जसले गरीब माथि दया गर्छ त्यो धन्यको हुन्छ।
21Whoso is despising his neighbour sinneth, Whoso is favouring the humble, O his happiness.
22जुन मानिसले षड्यन्त्र मात्र रचिरहन्छ त्यो बरालिन्छ नै, तर जुन मानिसले राम्रो राम्रो योजनाहरू बनाउँछ उसले प्रेम र विश्वास पाउँछ।
22Do not they err who are devising evil? And kindness and truth [are] to those devising good,
23यदि कसैले कडा परिश्रम गर्यो भने उसले इच्छा गरेको वस्तु पाउँछ, तर यदि कसैले कुरा मात्र गरिरहन्छ भने तब त्यो गरीब हुँदै जान्छ।
23In all labour there is advantage, And a thing of the lips [is] only to want.
24ज्ञानी मानिसले पुरस्कार धन पाउँछ, तर मूर्ख मानिसले मूर्खता नै पाउँछ।
24The crown of the wise is their wealth, The folly of fools [is] folly.
25साँचो गवाहीले जीवनको रक्षा गर्छ, तर झूटो गवाहीले झूटो बोल्छ।
25A true witness is delivering souls, And a deceitful one breatheth out lies.
26परमप्रभु प्रतिको सम्मान एउटा बलियो किल्ला हो, यो उसका छोरा-छोरीहरूको लागि सुरक्षित स्थान हुनेछ।
26In the fear of Jehovah [is] strong confidence, And to His sons there is a refuge.
27परमप्रभुको सत्कार गर्नु जीवनको मूल हो, यसले मानिसलाई मृत्युको पासोहरूबाट टाढा राख्छ।
27The fear of Jehovah [is] a fountain of life, To turn aside from snares of death.
28यदि धेरै मानिसहरू माथि राजाले शासन चलाउँछ भने त्यो महान हो, तर प्रजा बिनाको राजा तुच्छ हो।
28In the multitude of a people [is] the honour of a king, And in lack of people the ruin of a prince.
29धैर्यशील मानिसले धेरै विचार गरी काम गर्छ, तर जो मानिस चाँडै रिसको प्रकोपमा पर्छ उसले धेरै मूर्खतापूर्ण कामहरू गर्छ।
29Whoso is slow to anger [is] of great understanding, And whoso is short in temper is exalting folly.
30शान्ति हृदयले शरीरलाई जीवन दिन्छ, तर डाहले शरीरको हड्डी सम्म मककाउँछ।
30A healed heart [is] life to the flesh, And rottenness to the bones [is] envy.
31जो मानिसले गरीबलाई दुःख दिन्छ उसले सृष्टिकर्तालाई अपमान गर्छ, तर जसले उहाँलाई आदर गर्छ गरीबलाई दया देखाउँछ।
31An oppressor of the poor reproacheth his Maker, And whoso is honouring Him Is favouring the needy.
32एकजना दुष्ट मानिस उसको दुष्टताद्वारा पारजित हुन्छ, तर एकजना धर्मी मानिस उसको पवित्रतामा सुरक्षित रहन्छ।
32In his wickedness is the wicked driven away, And trustful in his death [is] the righteous.
33ज्ञानी मानिसहरूको विचार ज्ञानको घर हो तर एकजना मूर्ख मानिसले ज्ञान के हो जान्दैन।
33In the heart of the intelligent wisdom doth rest. And in the midst of fools it is known.
34धार्मिकताले राष्ट्रलाई महान तुल्याँउछ तर पाप भनेको सबैको लागि लज्जाजनक हो।
34Righteousness exalteth a nation, And the goodliness of peoples [is] a sin-offering.
35ज्ञानी सेवकले राजाको अनुग्रह पाउँदछ, तर एक जसले झमेला उत्पन्न गर्छ तिनले क्रोध पाउँछ।
35The favour of a king [is] to a wise servant, And an object of his wrath is one causing shame!
