¹“अय्यूब, के तिमी जान्दछौ घोरलहरू कहिले जन्मन्छन्? के तिमीले नियालेको छौ कहिले मृगले आफ्नो बच्चा ब्याउँछ?

¹Knowest thou the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? dost thou mark the calving of the hinds?

²के तिमी जान्दछौ कति महिनासम्म घोरले र मृगले आफ्ना पेटमा बच्चाहरू बोकी हिंडनु पर्छ? के तिमी जान्दछौ कति महिनामा तिनीहरूले ब्याउँछन्?

²Dost thou number the months that they fulfil? and knowest thou the time when they bring forth?

³जब तिनीहरूलाई प्रसव वेदना हुन्छ तिनीहरू निहुरिन्छ र बच्चा ब्याउँछन्।

³They bow themselves, they give birth to their young ones, they cast out their pains;

⁴ती पाठाहरू खुल्ला मैदानमा खेल्दै हुर्किन्छन्। त्यसपछि तिनीहरूले आफ्ना आमाहरू छाडदछन अनि कहिले फर्केर आउँदैनन्।

⁴Their young ones become strong, they grow up in the open field, they go forth, and return not unto them.

⁵अय्यूब, कसले जङ्गली गधाहरूलाई छाडी दियो? कसले तिनीहरूका डोरीहरू खोली दियो अनि कसले तिनीहरूलाई स्वतन्त्र गरे?

⁵Who hath sent out the wild ass free? and who hath loosed the bands of the onager,

⁶मैले ती जङ्गली गधाहरूलाई मरूभूमि घर जस्तै छोडिदिएँ। मैले तिनीहरूलाई बस्नको लागि नुन भएको ठाउँ छोडिदिंए।

⁶Whose house I made the wilderness, and the salt plain his dwellings?

⁷जङ्गली गधाहरू होहल्लालाई घीन गर्छ अनि कसैले पनि तिनीहरूलाई नियन्त्रण गर्न सक्तैन।

⁷He laugheth at the tumult of the city, and heareth not the shouts of the driver;

⁸जङ्गली गधाहरू पहाड पर्वत तिर बस्छन त्यो तिनीहरूको चौउर नै हो जहाँ तिनीहरूले हरियो घाँस खोज्दछ।

⁸The range of the mountains is his pasture, and he searcheth after every green thing.

⁹अय्यूब, के जङ्गली साँढेले तिम्रो सेवा गर्न राजी हुन्छ? के त्यो तिम्रो अन्न भण्डार हेरचाह गर्न राती बस्छ?

⁹Will the buffalo be willing to serve thee, or will he lodge by thy crib?

¹⁰के एउटा जङ्गली साँढेले तिमीलाई गलामा डोरी बाँध्न दिन्छ ताकि तिमीले खेत जोत्न सक्छौ?

¹⁰Canst thou bind the buffalo with his cord in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?

¹¹एउटा जङ्गली साँढे अति बलियो हुन्छ। तर तिम्रो काम गराउँनलाई त्यसमाथि विश्वास गर्न सक्छौ?

¹¹Wilt thou put confidence in him, because his strength is great? and wilt thou leave thy labour to him?

¹²के खलाबाट धन उठाई ढुकुटीमा लान त्यो आउँछ भन्ने भरोसा गर्न सक्छौ?

¹²Wilt thou trust him to bring home thy seed, and gather it into thy threshing-floor?

¹³शतुरमुर्ग उत्तेजित भई आफ्ना पंखेटाहरू फरफराउँछ तर शतुमूर्गा उड्न सक्तैन। यसको पंखेटाहरू र प्वाँखहरू सारसको जस्तो हुँदैन।

¹³The wing of the ostrich beats joyously -- But is it the stork's pinion and plumage?

¹⁴शतुरमुर्गले भूइँमा अण्डाहरू पार्दछ अनि बालुवामा न्यानो होस् भनि तिनीहरूलाई छोडिराख्छ।

¹⁴For she leaveth her eggs to the earth, and warmeth them in the dust,

¹⁵शतुरमूर्गले कोही त्यसको फुलहरूमाथि हिडछ अथवा कुनै पशु त्यसमाथि हिडेर फुटाई देला भनि कुनै पर्वाह नै गर्दैन।

¹⁵And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the beast of the field may trample them.

¹⁶शतुरमूर्गले आफ्ना चल्लाहरूलाई आफ्नो होइन भने झैं त्याग्छे। त्यसले आफ्नो महत्वपूर्ण परिश्रमको कुनै पर्वाह नै गर्दिन।

¹⁶She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not hers; her labour is in vain, without her concern.

¹⁷किन? किनभने मैले शतुरमूर्गलाई बुद्धि दिइन। शथुरमूर्ग लठेप्रो हुन्छ अनि त्यसलाई त्यस्तै लाटो बनाइदिएँ।

¹⁷For +God hath deprived her of wisdom, and hath not furnished her with understanding.

¹⁸तर जब शतुरमूर्ग दगुर्नलाई उठ्छे, ऊ घोडा र घोड सवारलाई तुच्छ ठान्छ, किनभने उ कुनै पनि घोडा भन्दा छिटो दर्गुछे।

¹⁸What time she lasheth herself on high, she scorneth the horse and his rider.

¹⁹अय्यूब के तिमीले घोडालाई बल दियौ? के तिमीले त्यसको घाँटीमाथि रौंहरू राख्यौ?

¹⁹Hast thou given strength to the horse? hast thou clothed his neck with the quivering mane?

²⁰के तिमीले घोडालाई सलह जस्तो उफ्रेर टाढा जाने योग्य बनायौ? घोडा जोडले हिन्‌हिनाउँछ अनि मानिसहरूलाई त्रसित पार्दछन्।

²⁰Dost thou make him to leap as a locust? His majestic snorting is terrible.

²¹घोडा खुशी हुन्छ किनभने त्यो बलियो छ। त्यसले आफ्नो खुट्टाले मैदानमा खोर्सिन्छ र युद्धभूमि तर्फ चाँडो दर्गुछ।

²¹He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth in [his] strength; he goeth forth to meet the armed host.

²²घोडाले डरको हाँसो उडाउँछ। त्यो डराउँदैन्। त्यो युद्धभूमिबाट चम्पट लाउँदैन।

²²He laugheth at fear, and is not affrighted; neither turneth he back from before the sword.

²³काँडको तरकस त्यसको छेउमा र्धररर आवाज गर्छ र त्यहाँ भाला र हतियारहरू घाममा टल्किन्छन्।

²³The quiver rattleth upon him, the glittering spear and the javelin.

²⁴घोडा एकदम उत्तेजित हुन्छ। त्यो मैदानमा चाँडो दर्गुछ। जब त्यसले बिगुल बजेको सुन्दछ त्यो रोकिन सक्तैन।

²⁴He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage, and cannot contain himself at the sound of the trumpet:

²⁵जब बिकुलको आवाज गुञ्जिन्छ घोडा कराउँछ, ‘छिटो,’ उसले टाडैबाट युद्ध सुँध्ने गर्छ। उसको कप्तानहरूले कराउँदै दिएको आदेशहरू अनि युद्धभूमिका अन्य सबै आवाजहरू सुन्दछ।

²⁵At the noise of the trumpets he saith, Aha! and he smelleth the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.

²⁶अय्यूब, के तिमीले बाजलाई पंखेटा फिंजाएर दक्षिणतर्फ उड्न सिकायौ?

²⁶Doth the hawk fly by thine intelligence, [and] stretch his wings toward the south?

²⁷के तिमी मात्र हौ जसले गिद्धलाई आकाश माथि माथि उडन सिकायौ। के तिमीले त्यसलाई उच्च पर्वतहरूमा त्यसको गुँड बनाउन सिकायौ?

²⁷Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make his nest on high?

²⁸गिद्ध पर्वत र शिखरमा बस्दछ। चट्टान नै गिद्धको किल्ला हो।

²⁸He inhabiteth the rock and maketh his dwelling on the point of the cliff, and the fastness:

²⁹गिद्धले आफ्नो शिकार उच्च किल्लाबाट नियाल्दछ। गिद्धले एकदम टाढामा भएको शिकार देख्न सक्छ।

²⁹From thence he spieth out the prey, his eyes look into the distance;

³⁰जहाँ मरेका सिनुहरू हुन्छन त्यहाँ गिद्धहरू एकत्रित हुने गर्छन। अनि बच्चाहरूले रगत चुस्दछ।”

³⁰And his young ones suck up blood; and where the slain are, there is he.
