1तब शुहाबाट आएका बिल्ददले उत्तर दिए,
1And Bildad the Shuhite answered and said,
2“कहिलेसम्म तिमी त्यसरी भनी रहने छौ? तिम्रा वचनहरू तीव्र हावाको प्रहार जस्तो छ।
2How long wilt thou speak these things? and the words of thy mouth be a strong wind?
3परमेश्वर सदा निष्पक्ष हुनुहुन्छ। सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वरले ती कुराहरू कहिल्यै बदूलनु हुन्न जुन ठीक छन्।
3Doth ùGod pervert judgment, and the Almighty pervert justice?
4यदि तिम्रा छोरा-छोरीहरूले परमेश्वरको विरूद्ध पाप गरेका छन् भने तब उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई दण्ड दिनु हुने नै छ। तिमीहरूले दण्ड भोग्नु नै पर्छ।
4If thy children have sinned against him, he hath also given them over into the hand of their transgression.
5तर अब अय्यूब, परमेश्वर पट्टिहेर, अनि सर्वशक्तिमानप्रति प्रार्थना गर।
5If thou seek earnestly unto ùGod, and make thy supplication to the Almighty,
6यदि तिमी निर्दोष अनि इमान्दार छौ भने उहाँले तिमीलाई मद्दत गर्नचाँडै आउनु हुनेछ। उहाँले तिम्रा घर पुनः निर्माण गरिदिनुहुनेछ।
6If thou be pure and upright, surely now he will awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous;
7तब तिमीसंग पहिले जति थियो त्यो भन्दा अझ ज्यादा हुनेछ।
7And though thy beginning was small, yet thine end shall be very great.
8बूढा-प्रधानहरूलाई सोधखोज गर, तिनीहरूका पिता-पुर्खाहरूले के सिके।
8For inquire, I pray thee, of the former generation, and attend to the researches of their fathers;
9हामी हिजै मात्र जन्मे जस्तो प्रतीत हुँदछ, त्यो पक्का बुझ्नका लागि हामी अझ कलिलै छौं। यस पृथ्वीमा हाम्रा आयु छायाँ जस्तै छोटो छन्।
9For we are [but] of yesterday, and know nothing, for our days upon earth are a shadow.
10हुनुसक्छ बूढा-प्रधानहरूले तिमीलाई पढाउन सक्छन्। हुनसक्छ उनीहरूले जे सिकेका छन् त्यही शिक्षा दिनसक्छन्।”
10Shall not they teach thee, [and] tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?
11बिल्ददले भन्यो, “के सिमसार अग्लो सुक्खा ठाउँमा उम्रिन सक्छ? के निगालाहरू पानीबिना उम्रन सक्छ?
11Doth the papyrus shoot up without mire? doth the reed-grass grow without water?
12अहँ! यदि पानी सुकाइयो भने, तब तिनीहरू पनि अरू उद्भिद्हरू भन्दा चाँडो ओइलाउने छैन।
12Whilst it is yet in its greenness [and] not cut down, it withereth before any [other] grass.
13मानिसहरू ज-जसले परमेश्वरलाई भुल्छन तिनीहरू मसिना र सूख्खा निगालाहरू जस्तो हुनेछन्। जुन मानिसले परमेश्वरलाई भुल्छ उसले आफ्नो सम्पूर्ण आशा हराउनेछ।
13So are the paths of all that forget ùGod; and the profane man's hope shall perish,
14त्यो मानिसको अडेस लाग्ने ठाउँसम्म हुँदैन। उसको सुरक्षाको घर माकुराको जालो जस्तो हुन्छ।
14Whose confidence shall be cut off, and his reliance is a spider's web.
15यदि त्यो मानिस माकुराको जालोमा अडेस लाग्यो भने त्यो जालो फाट्छ। माकुराको जालमा झुण्डिन्छ तर त्यसले उसलाई थाम्न सक्तैन।
15He shall lean upon his house, and it shall not stand; he shall lay hold on it, but it shall not endure.
16त्यो मानिस एक उद्भिद् जस्तो छ जसमा प्रशस्त पानी र घामको किरण छ त्यसको हाँगाहरू सबै बगैंचाभरि फैलिएको छ।
16He is full of sap before the sun, and his sprout shooteth forth over his garden;
17त्ययसले आफ्नो जराहरू वरिपरि ढुङ्गाहरूको थुप्रोले लपेट्छ। ढुङ्गामा बढनका निम्ति ठाउँहरू खोजिरहन्छ।
17His roots are entwined about the stoneheap; he seeth the place of stones.
18तर यदि उद्भिद्लाई त्यसको ठाउँ सार्यो भने त्यो मर्नेछ, र त्यो उद्भिद् त्यहाँ एक समयमा थियो भन्ने कसैलाई थाहा पनि हुँदैन।
18If he destroy him from his place, then it shall deny him: I have not seen thee!
19तर उद्भिद् खुशी थियो अनि यसको ठाउँमा अर्को उम्रिनेछ।
19Behold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the dust shall others grow.
20परमेश्वरले निर्दोष मानिसहरूलाई त्याग्नु हुन्न। उहाँले दुष्ट मानिसहरूलाई मद्दत गर्नुहुन्न।
20Behold, ùGod will not cast off a perfect man, neither will he take evil-doers by the hand.
21परमेश्वरले सधैं तिम्रो मुख हाँसोले भरिदिनुहुन्छ अनि तिमीहरूका ओंठहरू खुशीका आवाजले भरिदिनुहुन्छ।
21Whilst he would fill thy mouth with laughing and thy lips with shouting,
22तर तिम्रा शत्रुहरूले लगाउने पोषाक नै लाजको हुनेछ अनि दुष्ट मानिसहरूका घरहरू भत्काइनेछ।”
22They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame, and the tent of the wicked be no more.
