¹परमप्रभुले मोशालाई भननुभयो,

¹And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

²“इस्राएलीहरूलाई भन म तिमीहरूका परमेश्वर हुँ।

²Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I am Jehovah your God.

³बितेका दिनहरूमा तिमीहरू मिश्रदेशमा थियौ मिश्रीहरूले त्यो देशमा गरिरहेका छन्। म तिमीहरूलाई कनान देशमा लैजाँदैछु यसर्थ तिमीहरूले त्यस्तो केही नगर जे त्यस ठाउँमा ती मानिसहरू गर्छन्। तिनीहरूको दस्तुर नमान्नु।

³After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do; and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do; neither shall ye walk in their customs.

⁴तिमीहरूले मेरो विधि-विधानहरू मान्नुपर्छ र ती विधानहरूको अनुसरण गर। किन? किनभने, म परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वर हुँ।

⁴Mine ordinances shall ye do and my statutes shall ye observe to walk therein: I am Jehovah your God.

⁵यसकारण, तिमीहरूले मेरो विधि-विधानहरू पालन गर्नैपर्छ। जुन मानिसले यी विधि-विधानहरू पालन गर्छ, यहाँ तिनीहरू यस द्वारा बाँच्ने छौ।

⁵And ye shall observe my statutes and my judgments, by which the man that doeth them shall live: I am Jehovah.

⁶“तिमीहरूले आफ्नो नजिक को आफन्तहरुसंग सहवास गर्नु हुँदैन। म परमप्रभु हुँ।

⁶No one shall approach to any that is his near relation, to uncover his nakedness: I am Jehovah.

⁷“तैले तेरी आमासित लैंगिक सम्बन्ध राख्नु हुँदैन। यसले तेरा बुबालाई लाजमर्दो बनाउनेछ। तिनी तेरी आमा हुन् यसकारण तैंले तिनीसंग लैंगिक सम्बन्छ गर्नु हुँदैन।

⁷The nakedness of thy father, and the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover: she is thy mother: thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.

⁸यदि उनी तिम्री आमा नभए पनि तिम्रा बाबुकी स्वास्नी भएकीले तिमीले उनीसित सहवास गर्नु हुँदैन। किन? किनभने त्यो तिम्रा बाबुसित सहवास गरे जस्तै हो।

⁸The nakedness of thy father's wife shalt thou not uncover: it is thy father's nakedness.

⁹बहिनी आमापट्टिको होस् अथवा बाबुपट्टिको अथवा उनी तिम्रै घरमा जन्मिएको होस् अथवा बाहिरबाट नै आएकी होस्, उनीसित तिमीले सहवास गर्नु हुँदैन।

⁹The nakedness of thy sister, the daughter of thy father, or daughter of thy mother, born at home, or born abroad -- their nakedness shalt thou not uncover.

¹⁰“तिम्री नातिनी तिम्रै परिवारको एउटा अंश हो यसर्थ तिमीले ऊसँग लैंगिक सम्बन्ध राख्नु हुँदैन।

¹⁰The nakedness of thy son's daughter, or of thy daughter's daughter -- their nakedness shalt thou not uncover; for theirs is thy nakedness.

¹¹“तिम्रा बाबु र उनकी स्वास्नीकी छोरी भए ऊ तिम्री बहिनी हो, तिमीले ऊ सित सहवास गर्नु हुँदैन।

¹¹The nakedness of thy father's wife's daughter, begotten of thy father: she is thy sister: thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.

¹²“तिम्रा बुबाकी दिदी-बहिनी उनको नजिककी आफन्त हुन्। यसर्थ तिनीहरूँग तिमीले लैंगिक सम्बन्ध राख्नु हुँदैन।

¹²The nakedness of thy father's sister shalt thou not uncover: she is thy father's near relation.

¹³तिम्री आमाकी बहिनी-दिदी उनको अति नजिकको सम्बन्धी हुन्, यसर्थ उनीसित तिमीले सहवास गर्नु हुँदैन।

¹³The nakedness of thy mother's sister shalt thou not uncover; for she is thy mother's near relation.

¹⁴तिमीले तिम्रा बुबाका दाज्यू-भाईलाई उनकी स्वास्नीसित लैंगिक सम्बन्ध राखेर अपमान गर्नु हुँदैन किनभने तिनी तिमीहरूकी काकी हुन्।

¹⁴The nakedness of thy father's brother shalt thou not uncover; thou shalt not approach his wife: she is thine aunt.

¹⁵“तिमीले तिम्री बुहारीसित लैंगिक सम्बन्ध राख्नु हुदैन तिनी तिम्रो छोराको स्वास्नी हुन्। तिमीले ऊसित लैंगिक सम्बन्ध राख्नु हुँदैन।

¹⁵The nakedness of thy daughter-in-law shalt thou not uncover: she is thy son's wife; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.

¹⁶“तिमीले आफ्नो भाउज्यूसित लैंगिक सम्बन्ध राख्नु हुँदैन, कारण यसो गर्छौ भने यो तिमीले आफ्नो दाज्यू भाईसित लैंगिक सम्बन्ध राखेको जस्तो हुनेछ।

¹⁶The nakedness of thy brother's wife shalt thou not uncover: it is thy brother's nakedness.

¹⁷“आमा र उसकी छोरीसित तिमीले सहवास नगर। अनि यी आमाकी नातिनी हो चाहे उसको छोराकी छोरी होस्। ऊसित सहवास नगर। नातिनीहरू तिनको नजिकको सम्बन्धी हुन् र तिनीहरूसित सहवास गर्नु हुँदैन। उनीहरूसित सहवास गर्नु गलत हो।

¹⁷The nakedness of a woman and her daughter shalt thou not uncover; thou shalt not take her son's daughter, nor her daughter's daughter, to uncover her nakedness: they are her near relations: it is wickedness.

¹⁸“जब तिम्री स्वास्नी अझै जीवित नै छिन् भने तिमीले उसकी दिदी बहिनीसित सहवास गर्नु हुँदैन, आफ्नी स्वास्नी जीवित रहे उसकी बहिनीलाई बिहे गर्नु हुँदैन कारण ती दिदी-बहिनीमा शत्रुता हुन्छ।

¹⁸And thou shalt not take a wife to her sister, to vex her, to uncover her nakedness beside her, during her life.

¹⁹“तिमीले रजस्वला भएको समयमा एकजना स्रीसँग शारिरिक सम्बन्ध राख्न तिनको छेउमा जानु हुदैन किनभने त्यस समयमा तिनी अशुद्ध हुन्छिन्।

¹⁹And thou shalt not approach a woman in the separation of her uncleanness to uncover her nakedness.

²⁰“अनि तिमीले आफ्नो छिमेकीकी स्वास्नीसित पनि सहवास गर्नु हुँदैन यसले तिमीलाई अशुद्ध बनाउँछ।

²⁰And thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbour's wife, to become unclean with her.

²¹“तिमीले आफ्नो छोरा-छोरी आगोद्वारा मोलेकलाई नचढाऊ। यदि तिमीले यसो गर्छौ भने यसले बुझाउछ कि तिमीले आफ्ना परमेश्वरको नाउँलाई बदनाम गरिरहेका छौ। म तिम्रो परमप्रभु हुँ।

²¹And thou shalt not give of thy seed to let them pass through [the fire] to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am Jehovah.

²²“तिमीले स्त्रीसित जस्तै मानिससित सहवास नगर। त्यो घोर पाप हो।

²²And thou shalt not lie with mankind as one lieth with a woman: it is an abomination.

²³“कुनै पशुसित सम्भोग नगर। यसले तिमीलाई अशुद्ध पार्छ। स्त्री जातिले पनि पशुसित सम्भोग गर्नु हुँदैन कारण यो अस्वाभाविक दुराचार हो।

²³And thou shalt lie with no beast to become unclean therewith; and a woman shall not stand before a beast to lie down with it: it is confusion.

²⁴“तिमीहरू आफैं त्यस्ता अधर्म कर्महरू नगर कारण म त्यस्ता अधर्म कर्म गर्नेहरूलाई तिनीहरूको देशबाट निकाल्दैछु।

²⁴Make not yourselves unclean in any of these things; for in all these have the nations which I am casting out before you made themselves unclean.

²⁵तिनीहरूले आफ्नो भूमिलाई त्यसरी अशुद्ध बनाएको कारण अहिले त्यो भूमिले आफ्ना मानिसहरूलाई उच्छेद गरिरहेछ।

²⁵And the land hath become unclean; and I visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land vomiteth out its inhabitants.

²⁶“यसर्थ तिमीहरूले मेरा विधि-विधानहरू मान्नुपर्छ र तिमीहरूले कुनै पनि त्यस्ता अधर्म पाप कर्म गर्नु हुँदैन। यी विधानहरू इस्राएलीहरूका निम्ति हुन्, अनि यी नियमहरू तिमीहरूसँगै त्यहाँ बस्नेहरूका निम्ति पनि हुन्।

²⁶But *ye* shall observe my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of all these abominations: the home-born, and the stranger that sojourneth among you;

²⁷त्यो भूमि अशुद्ध भएको छ कारण त्यहाँ पहिलेका बासिन्दाहरूले त्यस्ता घोर पाप कर्महरू गरेका थिए।

²⁷(for all these abominations have the men of the land done, who were before you, and the land hath been made unclean);

²⁸यदि तिमीहरूले पनि त्यसै गर्यौ भने ती पहिलेका मानिसहरूलाई जसरी त्यो भूमिले हटाएको थियो तिमीहरूलाई पनि हटाउनेछ।

²⁸that the land vomit you not out, when ye make it unclean, as it vomited out the nation that was before you.

²⁹यदि कुनै मानिसले त्यस्तो घोर पाप कर्म गरे त्यस मानिसलाई उसको आफन्तहरूबाट अलग गरिनेछ।

²⁹For whoever committeth any of these abominations, ... the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people.

³⁰अन्य मानिसहरूले त्यस्तो अधर्म पाप कर्म गरेका थिए। तर तिमीहरू मेरो विधि-विधानहरू पालन गरेर बस अनि त्यस्ता अधर्म पाप कर्महरू कुनै पनि नगर। ती पाप कर्महरू गरेर आफैंलाई अशुद्ध नपार, म परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वर हुँ।”

³⁰And ye shall observe my charge, that ye commit not [any] of the abominable customs which were committed before you; and ye shall not make yourselves unclean therein: I am Jehovah your God.
