1यो येशू ख्रीष्टको परिवारिक इतिहास हो। उहाँ दाऊद परिवारबाट आउनु भयो। दाऊद अब्राहामको परिवारका हुन्।
1Book of the generation of Jesus Christ, Son of David, Son of Abraham.
2अब्राहाम इसहाकका पिता थिए। इसहाक याकूबका पिता थिए। याकूब यहूदा र उनका दाज्यु-भाइहरूका पिता थिए।
2Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob, and Jacob begat Juda and his brethren;
3यहूदा पेरेज र जाराका पिता थिए (तिनीहरूकी आमा तामार थिइन्।) पेरेज हेस्रोनका पिता थिए। हेस्रोन आरामका पिता थिए।
3and Juda begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom, and Esrom begat Aram,
4आराम अमिनादाबका पिता थिए। अमिनादाब नास्सोनका पिता थिए। नास्सोन सल्मोनका पिता थिए।
4and Aram begat Aminadab, and Aminadab begat Naasson, and Naasson begat Salmon,
5सल्मोन बोअजका पिता थिए। (बोअजकी आमा राहाब थिइन्।) बोअज ओबेदका पिता थिए। (ओबेदकी आमा रूथ थिईन्)। ओबेद यस्सीका पिता थिए।
5and Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse,
6यस्सी राजा दाऊदका पिता थिए। दाऊद सुलेमानका पिता थिए। (सुलेमानकी आमा उरियाकी पत्नी थिइन्।)
6and Jesse begat David the king. And David begat Solomon, of her [that had been the wife] of Urias;
7सुलेमान रोओबामका पिता थिए। रोओबान अबियाका पिता थिए। अबिया आसाफका पिता थिए।
7and Solomon begat Roboam, and Roboam begat Abia, and Abia begat Asa,
8आसाफ योसाफातका पिता थिए। योसाफात योरामका पिता थिए। योराम ओजियका पिता थिए।
8and Asa begat Josaphat, and Josaphat begat Joram, and Joram begat Ozias,
9ओजिया योआथामका पिता थिए। योआथाम आहाजका पिता थिए। आहाज एजेकियाका पिता थिए।
9and Ozias begat Joatham, and Joatham begat Achaz, and Achaz begat Ezekias,
10एजेकिया मनस्सेका पिता थिए। मनस्से आमोसका पिता थिए। आमोस योसियका पिता थिए।
10and Ezekias begat Manasses, and Manasses begat Amon, and Amon begat Josias,
11योसिया येकोनिया र उसका भाइहरूका पिता थिए। (यो त्यसै समयको कुरा हो जुनबेला यहूदीहरूलाई दासका रूपमा बेबिलोनमा लगिएका थिए।)
11and Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, at the time of the carrying away of Babylon.
12तिनीहरूलाई बेबिलोनमा लगिएपछि येकोनियास शालतिएका पिता थिए। शालतिएल जरूबाबेलका पिता थिए।
12And after the carrying away of Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel, and Salathiel begat Zorobabel,
13जरूबाबेल अबिउदका पिता थिए। अबिउद एलियाकिमका पिता थिए। एलियाकिम आजोरका पिता थिए।
13and Zorobabel begat Abiud, and Abiud begat Eliakim, and Eliakim begat Azor,
14आजोर सादोकका पिता थिए। सादोक आखिमका पिता थिए। आखिम एलिउदका पिता थिए।
14and Azor begat Sadoc, and Sadoc begat Achim, and Achim begat Eliud,
15एलिउद एलियाजरका पिता थिए। एलियाजर मत्थानका पिता थिए। मत्थान याकूबका पिता थिए।
15and Eliud begat Eliazar, and Eliazar begat Matthan, and Matthan begat Jacob,
16याकूब यूसुफका पिता थिए। यूसुफ मरियमको लोग्ने थिए। अनि मरियमबाट ख्रीष्ट यशूको जन्म भयो।
16and Jacob begat Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
17यसरी अब्राहामदेखि दाऊदसम्म चौध पुस्ताहरू थिए। दाऊदको समयदेखि मानिसहरूलाई बेबिलोन पुर्याइने बेलासम्म चौध पुस्ताहरू थिए। अनि यहूदीहरूलाई बेबिलोनमा लगिएदेखि ख्रीष्टसम्म चौध पुस्ताहरू थिए।
17All the generations, therefore, from Abraham to David [were] fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away of Babylon, fourteen generations; and from the carrying away of Babylon unto the Christ, fourteen generations.
18येशू ख्रीष्टकी आमा मरियमको मगनी यूसुफसँग भएको थियो। तर तिनीहरूको विवाह हुनु भन्दा अघिनै मरियम पवित्र आत्माको शक्तिद्वारा गर्भवती भएकी थिइन्।
18Now the birth of Jesus Christ was thus: His mother, Mary, that is, having been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found to be with child of [the] Holy Spirit.
19मरियमका पति, यूसुफ एक धार्मिक मानिस थिए। उनीले मरियमलाई विवाह हुनु अघि मानिसहरूका माझमा लज्जित बनाउन चाँहदैन थिए। यसकारण उनी गोप्य प्रकारले मरियमलाई त्याग्ने पक्षमा थिए।
19But Joseph, her husband, being [a] righteous [man], and unwilling to expose her publicly, purposed to have put her away secretly;
20तर जब यूसुफले यसो गर्ने विचार लिए, परमप्रभुका एउटा दूत सपनामा उनीकहाँ आए। दूतले भने, “यूसुफ, दाऊदको पुत्र, मरियमलाई आफ्नी पत्नीको रूपमा ग्रहण गर्न तिमी डराउनु पर्दैन। उनको गर्भमा भएको नानी पवित्र आत्माबाट भएको हो।
20but while he pondered on these things, behold, an angel of [the] Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, son of David, fear not to take to [thee] Mary, thy wife, for that which is begotten in her is of [the] Holy Spirit.
21उनले एउटा पुत्रको जन्म दिनेछिन्। तिमीले उहाँको नाउँ येशू राख्नु। उनलाई त्यो नाउँ दिनु, किनभने, उहाँले नै आफ्ना मानिसहरूलाई तिनीहरूका पापहरूबाट उद्वार गर्नुहुनेछ।
21And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus, for *he* shall save his people from their sins.
22अगमवक्ताद्वारा परमप्रभुले बोल्नु भएको वचन पूरा होस् भनेर यी सबै भन्न आएका हुन्
22Now all this came to pass that that might be fulfilled which was spoken by [the] Lord, through the prophet, saying,
23“कन्या गर्भवती हुनेछिन्, र एउटा पुत्र जन्माउने छिन्, तिनीहरूले उहाँको नाउ इम्मानुएल राख्नेछन्।” (इम्मानुएलको अर्थ हो “परमेश्वर हामीहरूसित हुनुहुन्छ।”)
23Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which is, being interpreted, 'God with us.'
24जब यूसुफ निद्राबाट ब्यूँझे; परमप्रभुका दूतले तिनलाई जे भनेका थिए त्यहि गरे। यूसुफले मरियमलाई विवाह गरे।
24But Joseph, having awoke up from his sleep, did as the angel of [the] Lord had enjoined him, and took to [him] his wife,
25तर मरियमले पुत्र नजन्माउज्जेलसम्म यूसूफले तिनीसित सहवास गरेनन् अनि यूसुफले पूत्रको नाउँ येशू राखिदिए।
25and knew her not until she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name Jesus.
