¹Not unto us, O Jehovah, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy loving-kindness and for thy truth's sake.

²Hvorfor skal hedningene si: Hvor er nu deres Gud?

²Wherefore should the nations say, Where then is their God?

³Vår Gud er jo i himmelen; han gjør alt det han vil.

³But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he pleased.

⁴Deres avguder er sølv og gull, et verk av menneskehender.

⁴Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands:

⁵De har munn, men taler ikke; de har øine, men ser ikke;

⁵They have a mouth, and they speak not; eyes have they, and they see not;

⁶de har ører, men hører ikke; de har nese, men lukter ikke.

⁶They have ears, and they hear not; a nose have they, and they smell not;

⁷Deres hender føler ikke, deres føtter går ikke; de gir ingen lyd med sin strupe.

⁷They have hands, and they handle not; feet have they, and they walk not; they give no sound through their throat.

⁸Som de selv er, blir de som gjør dem, hver den som setter sin lit til dem.

⁸They that make them are like unto them, -- every one that confideth in them.

⁹Israel, sett din lit til Herren! Han er deres hjelp og deres skjold.

⁹O Israel, confide thou in Jehovah: he is their help and their shield.

¹¹Ye that fear Jehovah, confide in Jehovah: he is their help and their shield.

¹²Herren kom oss i hu; han skal velsigne, han skal velsigne Israels hus, han skal velsigne Arons hus,

¹²Jehovah hath been mindful of us: he will bless, he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron;

¹³han skal velsigne dem som frykter Herren, de små med de store.

¹³He will bless them that fear Jehovah, both the small and the great.

¹⁴Herren la eder vokse i tall, eder og eders barn!

¹⁴Jehovah will add unto you more, unto you and unto your children.

¹⁵Velsignet være I av Herren, himmelens og jordens skaper!

¹⁵Ye are blessed of Jehovah, who made the heavens and the earth.

¹⁶Himmelen er Herrens himmel, men jorden har han gitt menneskenes barn.

¹⁶The heavens are the heavens of Jehovah, but the earth hath he given to the children of men.

¹⁷De døde lover ikke Herren, ingen av dem som farer ned i dødsrikets stillhet;

¹⁷The dead praise not Jah, neither any that go down into silence;

¹⁸men vi skal love Herren fra nu av og inntil evig tid. Halleluja!

¹⁸But *we* will bless Jah from this time forth and for evermore. Hallelujah!
