1{To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David.} Jehovah answer thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob protect thee;
2Herren bønnhøre dig på nødens dag, Jakobs Guds navn berge dig!
2May he send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion;
3Han sende dig hjelp fra helligdommen og støtte dig fra Sion!
3Remember all thine oblations, and accept thy burnt-offering; Selah.
4Han komme alle dine matoffer i hu og finne ditt brennoffer godt! Sela.
4Grant thee according to thy heart, and fulfil all thy counsels.
5Han gi dig efter ditt hjerte og fullbyrde alt ditt råd!
5We will triumph in thy salvation, and in the name of our God will we set up our banners. Jehovah fulfil all thy petitions!
6Måtte vi kunne juble over din frelse og løfte seiersmerket i vår Guds navn! Herren opfylle alle dine bønner!
6Now know I that Jehovah saveth his anointed; he answereth him from the heavens of his holiness, with the saving strength of his right hand.
7Nu vet jeg at Herren frelser sin salvede; han svarer ham fra sin hellige himmel med frelsende storverk av sin høire hånd.
7Some make mention of chariots, and some of horses, but we of the name of Jehovah our God.
8Hine priser vogner, hine hester, men vi priser Herrens, vår Guds navn.
8They are bowed down and fallen; but we are risen and stand upright.
9De synker og faller, men vi står og holder oss oppe.
9Save, Jehovah! Let the king answer us in the day we call.
