¹ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਮਸੀਹ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼-ਖਬਰੀ ਦਾ ਆਰੰਭ:

¹The beginning of the Good News of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

²ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਨਬੀ ਯਸਾਯਾਹ ਦੀ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ: “ਸੁਣੋ! ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੂਤ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਭੇਜਾਂਗਾ। ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਰਸਤਾ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰੇਗਾ।” ਮਲਾਕੀ 3:1

²As it is written in the prophets, “Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you. Malachi 3:1

³“ਉਜਾਡ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ: ‘ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਲਈ ਰਸਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰੋ, ਉਸਦੇ ਰਾਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਧੇ ਕਰੋ।”‘ਯਸਾਯਾਹ 40:3

³The voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make ready the way of the Lord! Make his paths straight!’” Isaiah 40:3

⁴ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਇਆ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸਨੇ ਉਜਾਡ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਕੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਸਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਖਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਲੈਕੇ ਇਹ ਵਿਖਾਉਣ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਦਲ ਲਏ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਣਗੇ।

⁴John came baptizing or, immersing in the wilderness and preaching the baptism of repentance for forgiveness of sins.

⁵ਸਾਰੇ ਯਹੂਦਿਯਾ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਆਪੋ-ਆਪਣੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਸਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

⁵All the country of Judea and all those of Jerusalem went out to him. They were baptized by him in the Jordan river, confessing their sins.

⁶ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਦੇ ਕੱਪਡ਼ੇ ਊਠ ਦੇ ਵਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਕਮਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਚਮਡ਼ੇ ਦੀ ਪੇਟੀ ਬੰਧੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਟਿੱਡੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਜੰਗਲੀ ਸ਼ਹਿਦ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ।

⁶John was clothed with camel’s hair and a leather belt around his waist. He ate locusts and wild honey.

⁷ਅਤੇ ਉਸਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਭਈ: “ਮੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਆਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਵਧ ਮਹਾਨ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਲਾਇਕ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਨਿਉਂ ਕੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਜੁੱਤੀ ਦਾ ਤਸਮਾ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਾਂ।

⁷He preached, saying, “After me comes he who is mightier than I, the thong of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and loosen.

⁸ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਿਹਡ਼ਾ ਕਿ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।”

⁸I baptized you in The Greek word (en) translated here as “in” could also be translated as “with” in some contexts. water, but he will baptize you in the Holy Spirit.”

⁹ਉਸ ਵਕਤ ਯਿਸੂ ਗਲੀਲ ਦੇ ਨਾਸਰਤ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

⁹It happened in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.

¹⁰ਜਿਸ ਵਕਤ ਯਿਸੂ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿਕਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਉਸਨੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਲ੍ਹਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਯਿਸੂ ਕੋਲ ਘੁੱਗੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਥੱਲੇ ਉੱਤਰਿਆ।

¹⁰Immediately coming up from the water, he saw the heavens parting, and the Spirit descending on him like a dove.

¹¹ਸਵਰਗ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਅਕਾਸ਼ਵਾਣੀ ਹੋਈ, “ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹਾਂ।”

¹¹A voice came out of the sky, “You are my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

¹²ਤਦ ਆਤਮਾ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕਲਿਆਂ ਉਜ੍ਜਾਡ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ।

¹²Immediately the Spirit drove him out into the wilderness.

¹³ਉਹ ਉਥੇ ਚਾਲੀ ਦਿਨ ਤੱਕ ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪਰਤਿਆਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਉਥੇ ਜੰਗਲੀ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੀ, ਤਾਂ ਉਦੋਂ ਦੂਤ ਉਸਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।

¹³He was there in the wilderness forty days tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals; and the angels were serving him.

¹⁴ਉਸਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ, ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਗਲੀਲ ਨੂੰ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼-ਖਬਰੀ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹ,

¹⁴Now after John was taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the Good News of the Kingdom of God,

¹⁵“ਹੁਣ ਠੀਕ ਸਮਾਂ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਨੇਡ਼ੇ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਦਲ ਲਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਖੁਸ਼-ਖਬਰੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਇਤਬਾਰ ਕਰੋ।”

¹⁵and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand! Repent, and believe in the Good News.”

¹⁶ਗਲੀਲ ਝੀਲ ਦੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਫ਼ਿਰਦਿਆਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੇ ਭਰਾ ਅੰਦ੍ਰਿਯਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਮਛੇਰੇ ਸਨ, ਝੀਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਛੀਆਂ ਫ਼ਡ਼ਲ ਲਈ ਜਾਲ ਪਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ।

¹⁶Passing along by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew the brother of Simon casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.

¹⁷ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਆਓ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਚੱਲੋ, ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕਠੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਨਾਵਾਂਗਾ।”

¹⁷Jesus said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you into fishers for men.”

¹⁸ਤਾਂ ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਦ੍ਰਿਯਾਸ ਆਪਣੇ ਜਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਉਥੇ ਹੀ ਛੱਡਕੇ ਉਸਦੇ ਮਗਰ ਹੋ ਤੁਰੇ।

¹⁸Immediately they left their nets, and followed him.

¹⁹ਯਿਸੂ ਗਲੀਲ ਝੀਲ ਦੇ ਕਿਨਾਰੇ ਥੋਡ਼ਾ ਹੋਰ ਅੱਗੇ ਤੁਰਿਆ ਉਸਨੇ ਦੋ ਹੋਰ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ, ਜ਼ਬਦੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ, ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਆਪਣੀ ਬੇਡ਼ੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਜਾਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਠੀਕ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਮਛੀਆਂ ਫ਼ਡ਼ ਸਕਣ।

¹⁹Going on a little further from there, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John, his brother, who were also in the boat mending the nets.

²⁰ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਮਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡਕੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਹੋ ਤੁਰੇ।

²⁰Immediately he called them, and they left their father, Zebedee, in the boat with the hired servants, and went after him.

²¹ਯਿਸੂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਕਫ਼ਰਨਾਹੂਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਏ। ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਜਾਕੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇਣ ਲੱਗੇ।

²¹They went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath day he entered into the synagogue and taught.

²²ਲੋਕ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਤੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਸਨ। ਉਸਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਾਂਗ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਕੋਲ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਹੋਵੇ ਨਾ ਕਿ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ।

²²They were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as having authority, and not as the scribes.

²³ਜਦੋਂ ਅਜੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਸੀ, ਉਥੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੀ ਜਿਸਨੂੰ ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਆਤਮਾ ਚਿੰਬਡ਼ਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਚੀਕਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਯਿਸੂ ਕੋਲ ਆਇਆ,

²³Immediately there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out,

²⁴“ਓ ਯਿਸੂ ਨਾਸਰੀ! ਤੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਕਿਸ ਲਈ ਆਇਆ ਹੈਂ? ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਡਾ ਨਾਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹੈਂ? ਮੈਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਕੌਣ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪੁਰਖ ਹੈਂ।”

²⁴saying, “Ha! What do we have to do with you, Jesus, you Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are: the Holy One of God!”

²⁵ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਬਡ਼ੇ ਰੋਅਬ ਨਾਲ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਚੁੱਪ ਕਰ! ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਿਕਲ ਜਾ!”

²⁵Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!”

²⁶ਫ਼ੇਰ ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਕੰਬਣੀ ਛੇਡ਼ੀ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਆਤਮਾ ਉੱਚੀ-ਉੱਚੀ ਚੀਕਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿਕਲ ਆਇਆ।

²⁶The unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him.

²⁷ਲੋਕ ਇਹ ਵੇਖਕੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਤੋਂ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਇਥੇ ਕੀ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ? ਇਹ ਨਵੀਂ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਤਾਂ ਬਡ਼ੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਤਾਂ ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਆਤਮਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਵੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਸਦੀ ਮੰਨ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।”

²⁷They were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is this? A new teaching? For with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him!”

²⁸ਇਉਂ ਗਲੀਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਖੇਤ੍ਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਿਸੂ ਬਾਰੇ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਬਡ਼ਰੀ ਤੇਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਫ਼ੈਲੀ ਗਈ।

²⁸The report of him went out immediately everywhere into all the region of Galilee and its surrounding area.

²⁹ਯਿਸੂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਛੱਡਕੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਸਮੇਤ ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਦ੍ਰਿਯਾਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਆਏ।

²⁹Immediately, when they had come out of the synagogue, they came into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.

³⁰ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਦੀ ਸੱਸ ਮੰਜੇ ਤੇ ਪਈ ਤਾਪ ਨਾਲ ਤਪ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ। ਉਥੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਦਸਿਆ।

³⁰Now Simon’s wife’s mother lay sick with a fever, and immediately they told him about her.

³¹ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਉਸਦੇ ਮੰਜੇ ਕੋਲ ਗਿਆ। ਉਸਨੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਫ਼ਡ਼ਕੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਉਠਾਇਆ, ਅਤੇ ਬੁਖਾਰ ਨੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ ਉਸਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ।

³¹He came and took her by the hand, and raised her up. The fever left her, and she served them.

³²ਉਸ ਰਾਤ, ਜਦੋਂ ਸੂਰਜ ਡੁੱਬ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਤਾਂ ਲੋਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਬਿਮਾਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੂਤ ਚਿੰਬਡ਼ੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ, ਯਿਸੂ ਕੋਲ ਲਿਆਏ।

³²At evening, when the sun had set, they brought to him all who were sick, and those who were possessed by demons.

³³ਸਾਰਾ ਨਗਰ ਉਸ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਬੂਹੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।

³³All the city was gathered together at the door.

³⁴ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਖ-ਵਖ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਰੋਗਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਚੰਗਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਅਤੇ ਉਸਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਭੂਤ ਕਢੇ। ਪਰ ਉਸਨੇ ਭੂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੋਲਣ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਸਨ।

³⁴He healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons. He didn’t allow the demons to speak, because they knew him.

³⁵ਅਗਲੀ ਸਵੇਰ, ਯਿਸੂ ਬਡ਼ੀ ਸਵਖਤੇ ਉਠਿਆ। ਅਜੇ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਘਰੋਂ ਨਿਕਲ ਪਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਇਕਾਂਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਕੇ ਉਸਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ।

³⁵Early in the morning, while it was still dark, he rose up and went out, and departed into a deserted place, and prayed there.

³⁶ਬਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੇ ਸਾਥੀ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਲਭਣ ਗਏ।

³⁶Simon and those who were with him followed after him;

³⁷ਜਦੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਲਭ ਲਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗੇ, “ਸਭ ਲੋਕ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਭਾਲ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।”

³⁷and they found him, and told him, “Everyone is looking for you.”

³⁸ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਆਓ, ਅਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਛੱਡੀਏ ਅਤੇ ਨੇਡ਼ੇ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਨਗਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਈਏ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕਰ ਸਕਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ।”

³⁸He said to them, “Let’s go elsewhere into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because I came out for this reason.”

³⁹ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ, ਯਿਸੂ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਪੂਰੀ ਗਲੀਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਭੂਤ ਕਢੇ।

³⁹He went into their synagogues throughout all Galilee, preaching and casting out demons.

⁴⁰ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮਈ ਜਿਸਨੂੰ ਕੋਢ਼ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ਉਸਨੇ ਝੁਕ ਕੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਅੱਗੇ ਅਰਜੋਈ ਕੀਤੀ, “ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਚਾਹੇਂ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਠੀਕ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।”

⁴⁰A leper came to him, begging him, kneeling down to him, and saying to him, “If you want to, you can make me clean.”

⁴¹ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇ ਤਰਸ ਆਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਸਨੇ ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਛੂਹਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਠੀਕ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਂ ਸੋ ਤੂੰ ਰਾਜੀ ਹੋ ਜਾ।”

⁴¹Being moved with compassion, he stretched out his hand, and touched him, and said to him, “I want to. Be made clean.”

⁴²ਫ਼ਿਰ ਕੋਢ਼ ਨੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।

⁴²When he had said this, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was made clean.

⁴³ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਡ਼ੀ ਸਖਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਤਗੀਦ ਕਰਕੇ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ,

⁴³He strictly warned him, and immediately sent him out,

⁴⁴ਉਸਨੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਦਸੀਂ। ਪਰ ਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਜਕ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਖਾ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈਂ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਟਾ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰ। ਤੂੰ ਉਹੀ ਭੇਟਾ ਅਰਪਨ ਕਰੀ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਰਾਜੀ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈਂ।”

⁴⁴and said to him, “See you say nothing to anybody, but go show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing the things which Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.”

⁴⁵ਪਰ ਉਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਬਾਹਰ ਜਾਕੇ ਇਹ ਚਰਚਾ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ ਕਿ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਰਾਜੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਉਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀ ਖਬਰ ਸਭ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਫ਼ੈਲ ਗਈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਿਸੂ ਖੁਲ੍ਹੇ-ਆਮ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਗਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਵਡ਼ ਸਕਿਆ। ਤਾਂ ਉਸਨੇ ਇਕਾਂਤ ਜਗ੍ਹਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਪਰ ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਭ ਨਗਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਕੋਲ ਆਉਣਾ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ।

⁴⁵But he went out, and began to proclaim it much, and to spread about the matter, so that Jesus could no more openly enter into a city, but was outside in desert places: and they came to him from everywhere.
