¹Puakgik jawlnei Habakkukin a muh

¹The burden which Habakkuk the prophet did see.

²Aw TOUPa, bangtan kei kikou dinga, nang honza lou ding? Hiam gamna thu-ah na kiangah ka kikou khia, nang na hondawng nuam kei.

²O LORD, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear! even cry out unto thee of violence, and thou wilt not save!

³Bang dinga thulimlouhna honmu sak a, ginatlouhna honensak na hia? lohna leh hiamgamna lah ka maah a om ngal ua: kilanna a oma, kinakna a hongom hi.

³Why dost thou shew me iniquity, and cause me to behold grievance? for spoiling and violence are before me: and there are that raise up strife and contention.

⁴Huaijiakin dan a jia a ola, vaihawmna a kuan khe ngei kei: gilouten lah diktatte a umsuak vek ngal ua; huaijiakin vaihawmna pawt khia hekkawiin om hi.

⁴Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong judgment proceedeth.

⁵Namte lak en unla, thei unla, lamdangtakin lamdang sa un: na damsungte un nasep ka sem ngala, huaibel honhilh mahle uh na um nuam kei ding uhi.

⁵Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvelously: for I will work a work in your days which ye will not believe, though it be told you.

⁶Ngai un, Kaldaite ka bawl khia hi, huai nam heh leh man-gang; huaite, amaua hi lou tenna munte tang dingin, lei vailam kantain a pai uh.

⁶For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwellingplaces that are not their's.

⁷A mulkimhuai un a lauhuai ua; a vaihawmna uh leh a lalna uh amau ngeia kipanin a pawt khia hi.

⁷They are terrible and dreadful: their judgment and their dignity shall proceed of themselves.

⁸A sakolte uleng gialbemte sangin a kinjaw ua, nitaklam ngiate sangin a lauhuai jaw uh; sakol tungtuangmite uh a kiphalh ua; ahi, a sakol tungtuanmite uh gamla pia kipana hongpai ahi uh; ne gai dinga kinoh muvanlai bangin a leng uh.

⁸Their horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves: and their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from far; they shall fly as the eagle that hasteth to eat.

⁹Hiamgam dingin a vek un a hong ua; suahlam huih bangin kilawp takin a maite uh dohsain a om; piaunel bangin salte a kaikhawm uhi.

⁹They shall come all for violence: their faces shall sup up as the east wind, and they shall gather the captivity as the sand.

¹⁰A hi, aman kumpipate a nuihsana, amaha dingin lalte nuihzatna ahi uh; kulh muanhuai chiteng a nuihsanna; leivui a vuma, a lak jek jiakin.

¹⁰And they shall scoff at the kings, and the princes shall be a scorn unto them: they shall deride every strong hold; for they shall heap dust, and take it.

¹¹Huaichiangin huih bangin a leng dinga, atalek dinga, a moh dinga, huai amah hatna a pathian hi pa ngei.

¹¹Then shall his mind change, and he shall pass over, and offend, imputing this his power unto his god.

¹²Aw TOUPA ka Pathian, ka Mi siangthou, khantawna kipan na hi ka hia? ka si kei ding uh, Aw TOUPA, vaihawmna adingin amah na hihkipta dingin amah na tungkheta hi.

¹²Art thou not from everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One? we shall not die. O LORD, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.

¹³Gilou muhna ding sanga nang mit chim jaw, hoihlouhna ensim theilou, bang dinga lepchiahtaka thil bawlte mu a, gilouin amah sanga diktat jaw mi a nawmvalh lai a dai mai maha;

¹³Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?

¹⁴Mite tuipi ngasate bang, a tung ua vaihawmtu neilou, thil bokvakte banga bawl maimah na hia?

¹⁴And makest men as the fishes of the sea, as the creeping things, that have no ruler over them?

¹⁵Ngakuaiin a vek un a khaikhe tou a, a lenin amau a mana, amaute a ngasuahin a huai khawm hi; huai jiakin nuam a saa, a kipak.

¹⁵They take up all of them with the angle, they catch them in their net, and gather them in their drag: therefore they rejoice and are glad.

¹⁶Huaijiakin a len adingin a kithoihna, a ngasuah adingin gimlim a hai; amaute jiaka a tan a hoiha, a sa a tm jiakinHuaijiakin a len a hih vuakin, anmte hihlum gige lou dingin a om peuhmah ding maw?

¹⁶Therefore they sacrifice unto their net, and burn incense unto their drag; because by them their portion is fat, and their meat plenteous.

¹⁷Huaijiakin a len a hih vuakin, anmte hihlum gige lou dingin a om peuhmah ding maw?

¹⁷Shall they therefore empty their net, and not spare continually to slay the nations?
