23

1Huan, Jesu'n mipite leh a nungjuite kiang ah thu a gen a.
1Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,
2Laigelhmite leh Pharisaite Mosi tutphah ah a tu jel ua,
2Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:
3huaijiak in a hon hilh peuhmah uh hih unla jui jel unla; amau thihhih bang jaw hih tuankei un, gen jaw a gen jel ua, a hih tuankei uh.
3All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
4Puakgik haksatak a bawl ua, mite a suan uh, amau lah a khut zung un leng a suan nuamkei uh.
4For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.
5A thilhih tengteng uh tuh mihing muh ding in ahi, ahih jawk nak uh, a thil but uleh a khipte uh a hih lian ua, a puan mongkai uh a sau sak ua.
5But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,
6ankuangluina ah mun hoihpen bang kikhopna in ah tutphah hoihpen bang.
6And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,
7dawl mun a chibai buk bang, min, Rabbi, a chih bang uh a deihtuam se ngal nak uh.
7And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.
8Nou jaw, Rabbi chih in omkei un; sinsakpa khat na nei ua, nou tengteng tuh unaute na hi ngal ua.
8But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.
9Huan, leitung ah kuamah, Pa, chikei un: na Pa uh khat kia ahi, van a om.
9And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
10Heutu chih in om samkei un, heutu khat na nei ua amah Kris ahi.
10Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.
11Na lak ua thupipen na sikha ua a om jawk ding ahi.
11But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.
12Kuapeuh kiliansak tuh a dai ding, kuapeuh kingaineu tuh pahtawi in a om ding.
12And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
13Himahleh nou laigelhmite leh Pharisai lepchiahte aw, na tung uh a gik hi: vangam lampi mite na khak sak ngal ua: nou lah na lut ngalkei uh, mi a lut dingte lut ding leng na phalkei jel uh.
13But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
14Laigelhmite leh Pharisai lepchiahte aw, na tung uh a gik hi: meithai inte na negai ngal ua, thumna saupi mikhemna ding in na bawl ua: huaijiak in mohna liansem na mu ding uhi.
14Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.
15Nou laigelhmite leh Pharisaite, lepchiahte aw, na tung uh a gik hi: phungkai khat lel leng bawl ding in tuipi leh gam na pai kimvel ngal ua, huan huchi bang a a hong om tak in, amah tuh noumau lehnih in gawtmun ta in na bawl jel uh.
15Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
16Nou makai mittaw, Kuapeuh Pathian biakin lou a kichiam, huai bangmah ahikei; kuapeuh Pathian biakin a dangka-eng lou a kichiam jaw tangtunsak ding ahi, chite aw, na tung uh a gik hi:
16Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!
17Nou mihai mittawte aw: a bang a thupi jaw a dangka-eng hia, dangka-eng siangthousak Pathian biakin?
17Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?
18Huan, Kuapeuh maitam lou a kichiam tuh, bangmah ahikei: a tung a thil piak om lou a kichiam peuh bel tangtunsak ding ahi, na chi uh.
18And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty.
19Nou mittawte aw, a bang a thupi jaw a, thil piak hia thilpiak siangthousak maitam?
19Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?
20Huchi in, maitam lou a kichiam peuhmah jaw maitam leh a tung a om tengteng lou a kichiam hi ahi;
20Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.
21huan, Pathian biakin lou a kichiam peuhmah jaw Pathian biakin leh a sung a teng pa lou a kichiam hi ahi:
21And whoso shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.
22huan, van lou a kichiam peuhmah leng Pathian tutphah leh a tung a tupa lou a kichiam hi ahi.
22And he that shall swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.
23Nou laigelhmi leh Pharisai, lepchiahte aw, na tung uh a gik hi: pudinate, mohurite, zirate sawm ah khat na pe jel ua, dan thu khawk jaw- diktatna te, hehpihna te, ginomna te- na limsak ngalkei ua; himahleh hiaite eive na hih ding uh, a dangte hihlou tuanlou in.
23Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
24Nou makai mittawte, thousi khisiang a sangawngsau valhte aw!
24Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.
25Laigelhmi leh Pharisai, lepchiahte aw, na tung uh a gik hi: nou leh kuang polam na hihsiang ua, a sung lah lepgukna leh kideklouhna in a dim ngal a.
25Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.
26Nou Pharisai mittaw, nou leh kuang sunglam hihsiang masa un, a polam leng a hong sian theihna ding in.
26Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.
27Laigelhmi leh Pharisai, lepchiahte aw, na tung uh gik hi: han nuhngou, polam kilawmtak a lang, a sunglam lah misi guhte leh nin chiteng a dim bangte na hi ngal ua.
27Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.
28Nou leng huchi bang tak in polam ah mihing mitmuh in diktat tak in na lang ua, na sunglam u bel lepchiahna leh gitlouhna in a dim ngal a.
28Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
29Nou laigelhmi leh Pharisai, lepchiahte aw, na tung uh a gik hi: jawlneite han in na lam ua, mi diktat hante leng na jem ua.
29Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,
30I pipute damlai a na om hihta leng, Jawlneite sisan a suahna ua panglou ding hi hang a, na chi uh.
30And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
31Huchi in jawlneite thatte ta na hi uh chih na kitheisak uhi.
31Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.
32Na pipute uh tehna dan uh hihdim ngal mai un.
32Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.
33Gulte aw, gul suante aw, Gehenna vaihawmna bang chin na pel thei ding ua?
33Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?
34Ngai dih ua, huaiziak mah in na kiang uah, jawlneite, mipilte, laigelhmite ka hon sawl ding; khenkhat na hihlum ding ua, kros ah na kilhden ding uh, khenkhat na kikhopna in uah savun khau in na jep ding ua, kho teng ah na sawi jel ding uh.
34Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:
35Huchi in, Abel mi diktat tak sisan akipan, Pathian biakin leh maitam kikal a Barak tapa Zakaria na thah uh sisan tan in, leitung a mi diktat sisan a suah tengteng uh noumau tungah a hongtung thei ding.
35That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.
36Chihtaktakin ka hon hilh ahi, huai tengteng tuh tulai khangthakte tungah a hongtung ding.
36Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.
37Aw Jerusalem, Jerusalem, jawlneite that, na kiang a a honsawlte uh suang a na denglum, akpi in a noute a kha nuai a a op khawm bang in na tate bangzah vei op khawm ka tum a, himahleh na utkei uh:
37O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
38En un, na in uh a vuak a taisan in a omta.Ka honhilh ahi. Toupa min a hongpai hampha hi, na chih masiah uh, tuban na hon mu nawntakei ding uh, a chi a.
38Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.
39Ka honhilh ahi. Toupa min a hongpai hampha hi, na chih masiah uh, tuban na hon mu nawntakei ding uh, a chi a.
39For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
