1Noplen ka hi ka hia? Sawltak ka hi ka hia? I Toupa Jesu ka muta ka hia? Noute Toupa a ka nasep gah na hi kei ua hia?
1Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Haven’t I seen Jesus Christ, our Lord? Aren’t you my work in the Lord?
2Mi dangte din sawltak hi kei mah leng, nou ading bekin jaw ka hi; Toupa a ka sawltak hihna chiamtehna noumau neive ua.
2If to others I am not an apostle, yet at least I am to you; for you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord.
3Hiai honsengte ka dawn na ahi,
3My defense to those who examine me is this.
4Ne ding leh dawn dingin thu ka neikei ua hia?
4Have we no right to eat and to drink?
5Sawltak dangte leh Toupa unaute leh Kifa bangin ji gingtami pi vialvial dingin thu ka neikei ua hia?
5Have we no right to take along a wife who is a believer, even as the rest of the apostles, and the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas?
6Ahihkeileh, koumau kivakna ding khut nasem lou dingin kei leh Barnabain thu ka neilou tuam ua hia?
6Or have only Barnabas and I no right to not work?
7Sepaih kua ahia amah kivaka gal kap ngei? Kuan ahia, a gah leh ne loua, grep huan bawl ngei? Ahihkeileh, kuan ahia, ganhon nawitui neloua, ganhon vul ngei?
7What soldier ever serves at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard, and doesn’t eat of its fruit? Or who feeds a flock, and doesn’t drink from the flock’s milk?
8Huai thute mihing bangmaiin ka gen hia? Dan thu mah inleng huai ngei a gen sam ka hia?
8Do I speak these things according to the ways of men? Or doesn’t the law also say the same thing?
9Mosi dan Laibu ah, Bawngtalin buh a chil laiin a muk gak ken, chih gelh ahi ngala. Pathianin bawngtal ading kia hia a ngaihtuah sak?
9For it is written in the law of Moses, “You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain.” Deuteronomy 25:4 Is it for the oxen that God cares,
10Eia ding kia gen ahi hia? Hi e, eia dinga a gelh ahi; leiletpan lamet neia leh ding ahi a, buhvopan leng tan neih sam lamenin vuak ding ahi ngala.
10or does he say it assuredly for our sake? Yes, it was written for our sake, because he who plows ought to plow in hope, and he who threshes in hope should partake of his hope.
11Kouten khalam thilte na kiang ua ka tuh ngal uleh, na salam thilte uh at mahle ung, thil kilawmlou ahi dia hia?
11If we sowed to you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we reap your fleshly things?
12Midangin bawn, na tung ua thuneihna a tan uleh kou tang sem lou ding ka hi uh maw? Himahleh, huai thuneihna ka zang kei uh; Kris Tanchin Hoih ka dal louhna ding un bangkim ka thuak teitei jaw uhi.
12If others partake of this right over you, don’t we yet more? Nevertheless we did not use this right, but we bear all things, that we may cause no hindrance to the Good News of Christ.
13Thil tan bawl vialvialten Pathian biakin a om thil a nek uleh, maitama nasemten maitam toh tan a nei uh chih na theikei ua hia?
13Don’t you know that those who serve around sacred things eat from the things of the temple, and those who wait on the altar have their portion with the altar?
14Huchi mahbangin, Toupan Tanchin Hoih gente Tanchin Hoih thu a nek muhna ding un a sep ahi.
14Even so the Lord ordained that those who proclaim the Good News should live from the Good News.
15Himahleh ken jaw tuate khat leng ka zang kei hi; ka tunga huchi na hihna ding un hiai thu ka gelh sam kei hi; kuapeuhin ka suanpen bangmah loua a bawl sang un, si mai leng kei dingin a hoihzo ngala.
15But I have used none of these things, and I don’t write these things that it may be done so in my case; for I would rather die, than that anyone should make my boasting void.
16Tanchin Hoih gen mahleng, huai jaw kisaktheih nading san ahi kei. Hihlouh theihlouh ka tungah a kinga ahi; Tanchin Hoih gen kei leng, ka tung gik ding ahi ngala.
16For if I preach the Good News, I have nothing to boast about; for necessity is laid on me; but woe is to me, if I don’t preach the Good News.
17Huai tuh keimah thuthua hih hi leng, kipahman ka nei hi; himahleh, keimah thuthu a hih keingal leh Tanchin Hoih kepnana kemsak a om ka hi.
17For if I do this of my own will, I have a reward. But if not of my own will, I have a stewardship entrusted to me.
18Ka kipahman bang ahia leh? Tanchin Hih ka genin, loh loua, Tanchin Hoih athawna pia ka hehtheihna tuh ahi.
18What then is my reward? That, when I preach the Good News, I may present the Good News of Christ without charge, so as not to abuse my authority in the Good News.
19Kuamah sikha hi kei mah leng, mi tam sem ka lak theihna dingin mi tengteng sikhain ka kibawlta.
19For though I was free from all, I brought myself under bondage to all, that I might gain the more.
20Huchiin, Judate ka laklut theihna dingin Judate kiangah Juda mi bangin ka om jel; dan nuaia omte ka lak lut theihna dingin dan nuaia omte kiangah dan nuaia om bangin ka om jel, dan nuaia om tuanlouin;
20To the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain those who are under the law;
21Dan neilou te ka lak lut theihna dingin dan neiloute kiangah dan neilou bangin ka om jel, Pathian dana om lou tuan louin, Kris dan jawm ngalin.
21to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law.
22Hatloute ka lak lut theihna dingin hatlou te kiangah hatlou bangin ka om jel; bang chichi hiam beka khenkhatte bek ka hotdam theihna dingin mi tengteng kiangah bangkim ka hita hi.
22To the weak I became as weak, that I might gain the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I may by all means save some.
23Tanchin Hoih jiakin bangkim ka hih jela, a vualjawlnate ka tan sam theihna dingin.
23Now I do this for the sake of the Good News, that I may be a joint partaker of it.
24Kitaitehte tuh a vek un a tai ua, himahleh khat kian kipahman a mu jel chih na theikei ua hia? Na muh theihna ding un huchi mahbangin tai un.
24Don’t you know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run like that, that you may win.
25Huan, kidemna a mawlmi peuhmah bangkimah mahni kithununin a om nak hi. Amau jaw lallukhu se thei mu dingin a hih ua, eiten bel lallukhu setheilou mu dingin.
25Every man who strives in the games exercises self-control in all things. Now they do it to receive a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible.
26Huchiin, tuamahbangin ka taia, a jiak bei hi louin; huihkhua leltak noh louin, ka pang hi:Ka pumpi ka hihsidupa; sikha in ka bawl zo jel hi; huchilou injaw midangte kianga ka tangkoupih nungin leng bangchichi hiamin keimah tak kipahman mutakloua koihin ka om khakha ding.
26I therefore run like that, as not uncertainly. I fight like that, as not beating the air,
27Ka pumpi ka hihsidupa; sikha in ka bawl zo jel hi; huchilou injaw midangte kianga ka tangkoupih nungin leng bangchichi hiamin keimah tak kipahman mutakloua koihin ka om khakha ding.
27but I beat my body and bring it into submission, lest by any means, after I have preached to others, I myself should be rejected.
