1 Corinthians

10

1Unaute aw, hiai khawng na theih louh uh ka deih kei, huchia i pipute tengteng mei nuaia a om vek ua, a vek ua tuipi leng a kan ua,
1Now I would not have you ignorant, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
2A vek ua meia leh tuipi-a Mosi-a baptis luta a om vek ua,
2and were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3A vek ua khalam an kibang leng a nek chiat ua.
3and all ate the same spiritual food;
4A vek ua khalam dawn ding kibang leng a dawn chiat uh. Amaute jui, khalam Suangpi-a a dawn chiat ngal ua; huai Suangpi tuh Kris ahi.
4and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Christ.
5Himahleh, a lak ua mi tamjaw tungah Pathian a lunghita keia; gamdai ah puklumin a om uhi.
5However with most of them, God was not well pleased, for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
6Huan, huaite tuh ei dinga etjuiding ahi, thil gilou a lunggulh bang ua i lunggulh sam louhna dingin.
6Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
7A lak ua khenkhat milim bemi a hih bang un milim bemi hi kei un. Mipi tuh ne ding leh dawn dingin a tu chiat ua, lam dingin a ding nawn uh, chih gelh bangin.
7Neither be idolaters, as some of them were. As it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.”
8A lak ua khenkhatin nungak a ngai ua, ni khatin sing nih leh sang thumin a puklup loh bang un, i kingai sam kei ding uh,
8Neither let us commit sexual immorality, as some of them committed, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell.
9A lak ua khenkhatin Toupa a zeet ua, gula hihmana a om bang un, Toupa jaw i zeet kei ding uh.
9Neither let us test the Lord, as some of them tested, and perished by the serpents.
10A lak ua khenkhat a phun ua, hihmangthangpa hihmanthata a om bang un, phun sam kei ni.
10Neither grumble, as some of them also grumbled, and perished by the destroyer.
11Huan, huaite tuh vaukholhna dingin a tunguah a hongtung h; eite, hun tawp hongtunnate, honthuhilhna ding aleng gelh ahi uhi.
11Now all these things happened to them by way of example, and they were written for our admonition, on whom the ends of the ages have come.
12Huaijiakin dinga kingaihtuah tuh pilvang hen, huchilou injaw a puk kha ding.
12Therefore let him who thinks he stands be careful that he doesn’t fall.
13Mihing thuak theih val khemna himhim na tuang uah a tung ngei kei hi. Pathian jaw a muanhuai ahi, aman na thuak theih val uh khemna na tuah uh a phal kei ding; na thuak theihna ding un khemna peuhah taikhiak na lampi abawl pah zo ding hi.
13No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
14Huaijiakin ka deihtakte aw, milimbiak jaw taisan un.
14Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.
15Mi pilte kianga gen bangin ka gen ahi; ka thugen ngaihtuah un.
15I speak as to wise men. Judge what I say.
16Vualjawlna noua vual ka honjawl sak uh, Kris sisan kikoppihna ahi ka hia? Tanghou ka balkhap uh, Kris pumpi kikoppihna ahi ka hia?
16The cup of blessing which we bless, isn’t it a sharing of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, isn’t it a sharing of the body of Christ?
17Eite mi tampi tanghou beu khat, pumpi pumkhat, i hi hi; i vek un tanghou beu khata i tang chiat ngal ua.
17Because there is one loaf of bread, we, who are many, are one body; for we all partake of the one loaf of bread.
18Sa lama Israelte en dih ua; kithoihna sa neten maitam a kikoppih kei ua hia?
18Consider Israel according to the flesh. Don’t those who eat the sacrifices participate in the altar?
19Bang ka genna ahia leh? Milim laka kithoihna leh, milim leng banghiamtak ahi chih ka gen ahia?
19What am I saying then? That a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything?
20Jentelte kithoihna, Pathian lakah hi louin dawite lakah a kithoih uh ahi chih, ka gen jaw ahi; nou jaw dawite na kikoppih uh hondeih lou ka hi.
20But I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God, and I don’t desire that you would have fellowship with demons.
21Toupa nou leh dawi nou na dawn khawm theikei ding uh; Toupa dohkan ah leh dawi dohkan ah na ne khawm theisam kei ding uh.
21You can’t both drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You can’t both partake of the table of the Lord, and of the table of demons.
22Ahihkeileh, Toupa hajatna hantoh i tum uh ahi maw? Amah sangin i hatjaw ua hi?
22Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?
23Thil bangkim hih a sianga, himahleh thil bangkim hih a hoih khol kei. Thil bangkim hih a sianga, himahleh thil bangkim hihin mi a bawl hoih kei hi.
23“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are profitable. “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things build up.
24Kuapeuhin amah hoihna ding zong louin midang hoihna ding zong jaw hen.
24Let no one seek his own, but each one his neighbor’s good.
25Sa dawla a juak peuhmah uh sia leh pha-theihtheihna jiakin bangmah dong louin ne mai un.
25Whatever is sold in the butcher shop, eat, asking no question for the sake of conscience,
26Lei leh a sunga tengteng Toupaa ahi ngala.
26for “the earth is the Lord’s, and its fullness.”
27Ginglou mi laka kuahiamin nou honsapa, hoh na ut ngal un, sialehphatheihna jiaka bangmah dong sese louin, a honlui peuh uh ne mai un.
27But if one of those who don’t believe invites you to a meal, and you are inclined to go, eat whatever is set before you, asking no questions for the sake of conscience.
28Ahihhangin, kuahiamin, Hiai jaw kithoihna ahi, chia, a honhilh leh, sia leh pha theihna jiakin ne kei un amah nou a honhilhpa jiakin;
28But if anyone says to you, “This was offered to idols,” don’t eat it for the sake of the one who told you, and for the sake of conscience. For “the earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness.”
29Nangmah sia leh pha theihna ka chi keia, amah sia leh pha theihna pen ahi ka chih jawk. Bang achia midang sialehphatheihnain ka noplenna thunun ahia?
29Conscience, I say, not your own, but the other’s conscience. For why is my liberty judged by another conscience?
30Kipaktaka ka tan leh, a tunga kipahthu ka genna tungah bang dinga gensiat ka hia?
30If I partake with thankfulness, why am I denounced for that for which I give thanks?
31Huchiin, na nek uhiam na dawn uhiam, na hehpeuhmah uah leng, Pathian thupina ding ngenin hih un.
31Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
32Judate ding hiam, Grikte ding hiam, Pathian saptuamte ding hiamin a pukna ding uh bangmah hih kei un,Ken keimah phattuamna zong loua, hotdam a hih theihna ding ua mi tampi phattuamna zong jawa, mi tengteng bangkim a ka kipahsak bang takin.
32Give no occasions for stumbling, either to Jews, or to Greeks, or to the assembly of God;
33Ken keimah phattuamna zong loua, hotdam a hih theihna ding ua mi tampi phattuamna zong jawa, mi tengteng bangkim a ka kipahsak bang takin.
33even as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of the many, that they may be saved.
