5

1Aw, Israel chite aw, hiai thu noute sunna ding ka gen ja un.
1Listen to this word which I take up for a lamentation over you, O house of Israel.
2Nungal, Israel, a pukta ahi; a ding nawn kei ding: a gam tungah paihkhiak a hita ahi; amah tungding dingin kuamah a om kei uh.
2“The virgin of Israel has fallen; She shall rise no more. She is cast down on her land; there is no one to raise her up.”
3TOUPA PATHIAN in hichiin a chi ngala: Israel chite kiangah, khopi, snag pawtnain, ja a nuse dinga, khopi, ja pawtna in, sawm a nuse ding.
3For thus says the Lord Yahweh: “The city that went forth a thousand shall have a hundred left, and that which went forth one hundred shall have ten left to the house of Israel.”
4TOPAN lah Israel chite kiangah hichiin a chi ngala,
4For thus says Yahweh to the house of Israel: “Seek me, and you will live;
5Honzong unla, na hing ding uh: himahleh Bethel khua zong kei unla, Gilgal ah lut sam kei unla, Beerseba khua ah galkah kei un: Gilgal khua lah pellouin salin a man sin ngal ua, Bethel khua a hongvuaksuak ding.
5but don’t seek Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and don’t pass to Beersheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nothing.
6TOUPa zing unla, na hing ding uh; huchilouinjaw, Joseph in ah mei bangin a pawt dinga, a kang khin dinga, Bethel khua ah mitsak ding kuamah a om kei ding uh:
6Seek Yahweh, and you will live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and it devour, and there be no one to quench it in Bethel.
7Vaihawmna singkha suaksaka, diktat na leia paikhete aw;
7You who turn justice to wormwood, and cast down righteousness to the earth:
8Siguk leh Zuheisuktun bawlpa leh sihna limliap laka tangsakpa leh sun jan mial bawlpa, tuipi tuite sama, leitunga luangsakpa, amah tak zong le uchin; a min TOUPA ahi;
8seek him who made the Pleiades and Orion, and turns the shadow of death into the morning, and makes the day dark with night; who calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out on the surface of the earth, Yahweh is his name,
9Kulh tunga manthatna hongtung guih zou hiala, mi hatte tunga manthatna tungsakpa pen.
9who brings sudden destruction on the strong, so that destruction comes on the fortress.
10Kongpia taihilhmi a mudah ua, thu diktak genmi a kih uh.
10They hate him who reproves in the gate, and they abhor him who speaks blamelessly.
11Huaijiakin mi gentheite tuandenin buh na lak sak ua: suangsekin inte na lam ua, himahleh a sungah na teng kei ding uh. Grep huan nuamte na bawl ua, himahleh uaiin na dawn kei uh.
11Forasmuch therefore as you trample on the poor, and take taxes from him of wheat: You have built houses of cut stone, but you will not dwell in them. You have planted pleasant vineyards, but you shall not drink their wine.
12Na tatleknate uh tamdan leh na khehnate uh a thupidan lah ka thei ngala; mi diktatte na simmoh ua, golhna laa, kongpia tasamte ahih ding him ua pampaihte aw.
12For I know how many your offenses, and how great are your sins— you who afflict the just, who take a bribe, and who turn aside the needy in the courts.
13Huchiin mi pil jaw huchi hun chiang in a dai dide dinga, hun hoihlou a hih jiakin.
13Therefore a prudent person keeps silent in such a time, for it is an evil time.
14Na hin theihna ding un hoih louhna zong louin, hoihna zong unla: huan, na gen bang un, TOUPA sepaihte Pathian na kiang uah a om ding.
14Seek good, and not evil, that you may live; and so Yahweh, the God of Armies, will be with you, as you say.
15Khelhna hua unla, hoihna it un: kongpi ah vaihawmna kiptakin tung ding un: Josephte mi omsunte tungah TOUPA, sepaihte Pathianin hehpihna a nei kha mai diam ah.
15Hate evil, love good, and establish justice in the courts. It may be that Yahweh, the God of Armies, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.”
16Huaijiakin TOUPA, sepaihte Pathian, TOUPAN hichiin a chi: Kholak ja tengteng ah nakpia kahna a om dinga, kongzing tengtengah, Khawk hina mah e: a chi dung uh; lungkham dingin louneimite leh nakpia kap dingin sunsiammite a sam ding uh.
16Therefore thus says Yahweh, the God of Armies, the Lord: “Wailing will be in all the broad ways; and they will say in all the streets, ‘Alas! Alas!’ and they will call the farmer to mourning, and those who are skillful in lamentation to wailing.
17Huan, grep huan tengteng ah nakpia kahna a om dinga: na lak uah lah ka paisuak sin ngala, TOUPAN a chi.
17In all vineyards there will be wailing; for I will pass through the midst of you,” says Yahweh.
18TOUPA ni deihte aw, na tung uh a gik hi: Bangdia TOUPA ni deih na hia ua? Vak hi louin mial ahi jaw hi.
18“Woe to you who desire the day of Yahweh! Why do you long for the day of Yahweh? It is darkness, and not light.
19Humpinelkai taisana, vompi tuak mi bang leh ina luta, bang tunga khut ngaa, gulin a tuk bang ahi.
19As if a man fled from a lion, and a bear met him; Or he went into the house and leaned his hand on the wall, and a snake bit him.
20TOUPA ni vak hilouin mial ahi sin ka hia? Mial sah leh vakna himhim leng neilouin?
20Won’t the day of Yahweh be darkness, and not light? Even very dark, and no brightness in it?
21Na ankuangluite uh ka huain ka musita, na kikhampi pisuakte uah leng ka kipak smam kei hi.
21I hate, I despise your feasts, and I can’t stand your solemn assemblies.
22A hi, na thillat uleh na buhlat uh honlan mahle uchin, ka sang kei dinga, na gan thau uh lemna thillatte leng ka limsak kei ding hi.
22Yes, though you offer me your burnt offerings and meal offerings, I will not accept them; neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat animals.
23Na kaihging ging kilawm uh ka ngaikhe kei ding; huaijiakin kei akipan bilaphuai na la uh la mang un.
23Take away from me the noise of your songs! I will not listen to the music of your harps.
24Himahleh, vaihawmna bel tuite bna gin leh diktatna lui lian bangin luang heh.
24But let justice roll on like rivers, and righteousness like a mighty stream.
25Aw, Israel inkote aw, kum sawmli sungin gamdai ah kithoihnate leh thillatte ka kiangah na honlan uh eita?
25“Did you bring to me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, house of Israel?
26A hi, na kumpipa uh Sakuth leh na milimte uh, na aksi pathian uh, Kaiuan nou dia na bawl uh, na la ua.TOUPA a min sepaihte Pathianin, Huchiin, Damaska kho khen lamah salin nou ka honpaisak ding, a chi hi.
26You also carried the tent of your king and the shrine of your images, the star of your god, which you made for yourselves.
27TOUPA a min sepaihte Pathianin, Huchiin, Damaska kho khen lamah salin nou ka honpaisak ding, a chi hi.
27Therefore will I cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus,” says Yahweh, whose name is the God of Armies.
