¹ خداوند به من فرمود:

¹And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

² «ای انسان فانی، به سوی عمون روی کن و علیه ایشان نبوّت کن.

²Son of man, set thy face against the children of Ammon, and prophesy against them;

³ به ایشان بگو کلام خداوند متعال چنین می‌فرماید: شما از آلوده شدن معبد بزرگ من، نابودی سرزمین اسرائیل و اسارت مردم یهودا خشنود گشتید.

³and say unto the children of Ammon, Hear the word of the Lord Jehovah. Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because thou saidst, Aha, against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was made desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity:

⁴ چون شادمان بودید، اجازه خواهم داد تا قبایل شرقی بیابان بر شما چیره گردند. ایشان در سرزمین شما اردو خواهند زد و در آنجا ساكن می‌گردند. ایشان میوه‌ای را خواهند خورد و شیری را خواهند نوشید که می‌بایست از آن شما باشد.

⁴therefore behold, I will give thee to the children of the east for a possession, and they shall set their encampments in thee, and make their dwellings in thee; they shall eat thy fruits, and they shall drink thy milk.

⁵ شهر ربه را چراگاه شترها و عمون را جایگاه گلّه‌ها خواهم گردانید، آنگاه خواهید دانست که من خداوند هستم.»

⁵And I will make Rabbah a pasture for camels, and the children of Ammon a couching-place for flocks: and ye shall know that I [am] Jehovah.

⁶ خداوند متعال چنین می‌فرماید: «چون شما با تمام بداندیشی علیه اسرائیل، دست زدید و پایکوبی و شادمانی کردید،

⁶For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because thou hast clapped the hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced with all the despite of thy soul against the land of Israel;

⁷ بنابراین من دست خود را علیه شما دراز می‌کنم و شما را به دست ملّتهایی خواهم داد که شما را تاراج کنند. شما را بکلّی نابود خواهم کرد تا دیگر ملّتی و کشوری نداشته باشید.»

⁷therefore behold, I will stretch out my hand upon thee, and will give thee for a spoil to the nations; and I will cut thee off from the peoples, and I will cause thee to perish out of the countries: I will destroy thee, and thou shalt know that I [am] Jehovah.

⁸ خداوند متعال ‌فرمود: «چون مردم موآب گفتند یهودا نیز مانند ملّتهای دیگر است،

⁸Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because Moab and Seir do say, Behold, the house of Judah is like unto all the nations,

⁹ اجازه خواهم داد تا شهرهایی که از مرزهای موآب دفاع می‌کنند، حتّی بهترین شهرها یعنی بیت یشیموت و بعل معون و قیریتایم مورد حمله قرار بگیرند.

⁹therefore behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities even to the last of them, the glory of the country, Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon, and Kirjathaim,

¹⁰ اجازه خواهم داد تا قبایل شرق بیابان، موآب و عمون را با هم تسخیر کنند تا دیگر یادی از عمون در میان ملّتها بجا نماند.

¹⁰unto the children of the east, with [the land of] the children of Ammon; and I will give it them for a possession, that the children of Ammon may not be remembered among the nations:

¹¹ موآب را مجازات خواهم کرد و ایشان خواهند دانست که من خداوند هستم.»

¹¹and I will execute judgments upon Moab, and they shall know that I [am] Jehovah.

¹² خداوند متعال چنین ‌می‌فرماید: «مردم اَدوم از یهودا بی‌رحمانه انتقام گرفتند و این کار موجب شد که بسیار خاطی شوند.

¹²Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because Edom hath dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and hath made himself very guilty, and revenged himself upon them,

¹³ بنابراین من دستم را علیه اَدوم دراز خواهم کرد و همهٔ مردم و حیوانات آنجا را خواهم کشت. آن سرزمین را ویران خواهم نمود و از شهر تیمان تا شهر ددان، مردم با شمشیر کشته خواهند شد.

¹³therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will also stretch out my hand upon Edom; and will cut off man and beast from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; and unto Dedan shall they fall by the sword.

¹⁴ من انتقام خود را به دست قوم خود اسرائیل، از اَدوم خواهم گرفت و ایشان باعث خواهند شد تا اَدوم شدّت خشم مرا حس کند و خواهند دانست مورد خشم من قرار گرفتن یعنی چه.»

¹⁴And I will execute my vengeance upon Edom, by the hand of my people Israel; and they shall do in Edom according to mine anger and according to my fury; and they shall know my vengeance, saith the Lord Jehovah.

¹⁵ خداوند متعال چنین می‌فرماید: «چون فلسطینی‌ها انتقام‌جویانه عمل کردند و با قلبی کینه‌توز و برای نابودی و دشمنی بی‌پایان انتقام گرفتند،

¹⁵Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because the Philistines have dealt by revenge, and have taken vengeance with despite of soul, to destroy, from old hatred;

¹⁶ پس من دست خود را علیه فلسطینی‌ها دراز خواهم کرد و کریتیان را از میان خواهم برداشت و بقیّهٔ ساحل دریا را نابود خواهم کرد. من انتقام شدید خواهم گرفت و با خشم ایشان را مجازات خواهم کرد. هنگامی‌که از ایشان انتقام بگیرم خواهند دانست که من خداوند هستم.»

¹⁶therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I stretch out my hands upon the Philistines, and I will cut off the Kerethites, and cause the remnant of the sea-coast to perish.

¹⁷ من انتقام شدید خواهم گرفت و با خشم ایشان را مجازات خواهم کرد. هنگامی‌که از ایشان انتقام بگیرم خواهند دانست که من خداوند هستم.»

¹⁷And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I [am] Jehovah, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.
