¹ آن مرد، مرا به در ورودی معبد بزرگ بازگرداند. آبی از زیر دروازه به سوی شرق روان بود یعنی جهتی که معبد بزرگ در آن‌سو قرار داشت و پایین‌تر از قسمت جنوبی معبد بزرگ و از جنوب قربانگاه می‌گذشت.

¹And he brought me back to the door of the house; and behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward: for the front of the house was eastward. And the waters came down from under, from the right side of the house, south of the altar.

² آنگاه آن مرد، مرا از راه دروازهٔ شمالی به خارج معبد بزرگ به طرف دروازه‌ای که به سوی شرق است، برد. جویبار کوچکی از دروازهٔ جنوبی جاری بود.

²And he brought me out by the way of the gate northward, and led me round outside unto the outer gate towards [the gate] that looketh eastward; and behold, waters ran out on the right side.

³ با چوب اندازه‌گیری پانصد متر به سوی شرق اندازه گرفت و مرا از آب گذراند. عمق آب تا مچ پای من بود.

³When the man went forth eastward, a line was in his hand; and he measured a thousand cubits, and he caused me to pass through the waters: the waters were to the ankles.

⁴ او پانصد متر دیگر اندازه گرفت و مرا از آب عبور داد، عمق آب تا زانوهایم بود، پانصد متر دیگر اندازه گرفت و مرا از آب گذراند عمق آب تا کمرم رسید.

⁴And he measured a thousand [cubits], and caused me to pass through the waters: the waters were to the knees. And he measured a thousand and caused me to pass through: the waters were to the loins.

⁵ او پانصد متر دیگر اندازه گرفت، آب در آنجا بسیار عمیق بود و من نمی‌توانستم از آن بگذرم، آن‌قدر عمیق بود که فقط با شنا کردن می‌شد به آن سوی رودخانه رفت.

⁵And he measured a thousand: it was a river that I could not pass through, for the waters were risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not be passed through.

⁶ او به من گفت: «ای انسان فانی به آنچه دیدی دقّت کن.» سپس مرا به کنار رودخانه برد،

⁶And he said unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen [this]? And he led me, and brought me back to the bank of the river.

⁷ و هنگامی‌که به آنجا رسیدم در دو طرف رودخانه، درختان بسیاری دیدم.

⁷When I returned, behold, on the bank of the river were very many trees on the one side and on the other.

⁸ او به من گفت: «این آب در این سرزمین به سوی شرق روان است و به دشت اردن و از آنجا به دریای مرده می‌ریزد. و هنگامی‌که به دریای مرده می‌ریزد، آب شور آن را با آب شیرین جایگزین می‌کند.

⁸And he said unto me, These waters issue out toward the east district, and go down into the plain, and go into the sea; when they are brought forth into the sea, the waters [thereof] shall be healed.

⁹ هر کجا که رودخانه روان شود در آنجا حیوانات و ماهیان گوناگونی خواهد بود. رودخانه آب دریای مرده را شیرین می‌کند و در هر کجا که روان باشد، حیات می‌آورد.

⁹And it shall come to pass that every living thing which moveth, whithersoever the double river shall come, shall live. And there shall be a very great multitude of fish; for these waters shall come thither, and [the waters of the sea] shall be healed; and everything shall live whither the river cometh.

¹⁰ از چشمه‌های عین‌جدی تا چشمه‌های عجلایم، ماهی‌گیران در ساحل دریا خواهند ایستاد و تورهای خود را برای خشک کردن پهن می‌کنند. در آنجا ماهیان گوناگون فراوانی مانند ماهیان دریای مدیترانه خواهد بود.

¹⁰And it shall come to pass, that fishers shall stand upon it; from En-gedi even unto En-eglaim shall be [a place] to spread forth nets: their fish shall be according to their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceeding many.

¹¹ امّا باتلاق‌ها و مردابهایش تازه نخواهند شد و شوره‌زار باقی می‌مانند.

¹¹But its marshes and its pools shall not be healed; they shall be given up to salt.

¹² در کناره‌های رودخانه، درختهای میوه خواهند رویید. برگهای آنها هرگز پژمرده نخواهد شد و هرگز از میوه دادن باز نمی‌ایستند. هر ماه میوهٔ تازه خواهند داشت، زیرا آنها از آبی که از معبد بزرگ جاری است، آبیاری شده‌اند. میو‌های درختان برای خوراک و برگهایشان برای درمان مردم استفاده خواهد شد.»

¹²And by the river, upon its bank, on the one side and on the other, shall grow all trees for food, whose leaf shall not fade, nor their fruit fail: it shall bring forth new fruit every month, for its waters issue out of the sanctuary; and the fruit thereof shall be for food, and the leaf thereof for medicine.

¹³ خداوند متعال می‌فرماید: «این است مرزهای سرزمینی که باید میان دوازده طایفهٔ اسرائیل تقسیم شود، طایفهٔ یوسف دو سهم دریافت خواهد کرد.

¹³Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: This shall be the border whereby ye shall allot the land as inheritance according to the twelve tribes of Israel: Joseph [shall have two] portions.

¹⁴ من با نیاکان شما پیمان بستم که این سرزمین را به ایشان بدهم، اکنون آن را به صورت مساوی بین خود تقسیم کنید.

¹⁴And ye shall inherit it, one as well as another, [the land] concerning which I lifted up my hand to give it unto your fathers; and this land shall fall to you for inheritance.

¹⁵ «مرز شمالی از دریای مدیترانه تا شهر حتلون و گذرگاه حمات تا شهر صَدَد ادامه دارد.

¹⁵And this shall be the border of the land: toward the north side, from the great sea, the way of Hethlon, as one goeth to Zedad,

¹⁶ و از آنجا به شهرهای بیروته و سبرایم (این شهرها در فاصله پادشاهی دمشق و پادشاهی حمات واقع هستند) تا شهر تیکان که در مرز حوران است، می‌رسد.

¹⁶Hamath, Berothah, Sibraim, which is between the border of Damascus and the border of Hamath; Hazer-hatticon, which is by the border of Hauran.

¹⁷ پس مرز شمالی از دریای مدیترانه به طرف شرق تا شهر عینون و منطقهٔ دمشق و حمات که در شمال است ادامه دارد.

¹⁷And the border from the sea shall be Hazar-enan, the border of Damascus, and the north northward, and the border of Hamath: this is the north side.

¹⁸ «مرز شرقی از مکانی بین سرزمین دمشق و حوران به طرف جنوب ادامه می‌یابد و رود اردن مرز اسرائیل در غرب و در جلعاد در شرق تا تامار در دریای مرده خواهد بود.

¹⁸-- And on the east side ye shall measure between Hauran and Damascus, and Gilead and the land of Israel [by] the Jordan, from the border unto the east sea: this is the east side.

¹⁹ «مرز جنوبی، از تامار به طرف غربی تا آبهای مریبوت قادش و از آنجا به طرف شمال غربی تا مرز مصر و دریای مدیترانه ادامه خواهد داشت.

¹⁹-- And the south side southward, from Tamar to the waters of Meribah-Kadesh, by the torrent, unto the great sea: this is the south side southward.

²⁰ «مرز غربی از دریای مدیترانه به طرف شمال تا نقطه‌ای در غرب گذرگاه حمات می‌باشد.

²⁰-- And the west side shall be the great sea from the border, as far as over against the entering into Hamath: this is the west side.

²¹ «این سرزمین را بین طایفه‌ها تقسیم کنید،

²¹And ye shall divide this land unto you according to the tribes of Israel.

²² آن ملک دایمی ‌شما خواهد بود. بیگانگانی که در میان شما زندگی می‌کنند و فرزندانشان که در اینجا به دنیا آمده‌اند، باید سهمی ‌داشته باشند. با ایشان مانند تبعهٔ اسرائیل رفتار کنید و ایشان نیز مانند دیگر طایفه‌های اسرائیل برای سهم زمین خود در قرعه‌کشی شرکت کنند. هر بیگانه‌ای که تبعه شده، سهم خود را در میان طایفه‌‌‌ای که زندگی می‌کند، دریافت خواهد داشت. من، خداوند متعال سخن گفته‌ام.»

²²And it shall come to pass that ye shall divide it by lot for an inheritance unto you, and to the strangers that sojourn among you, who shall beget children among you; and they shall be unto you as the home-born among the children of Israel: with you shall they draw by lot inheritance among the tribes of Israel.

²³ هر بیگانه‌ای که تبعه شده، سهم خود را در میان طایفه‌‌‌ای که زندگی می‌کند، دریافت خواهد داشت. من، خداوند متعال سخن گفته‌ام.»

²³And it shall come to pass that in the tribe in which the stranger sojourneth, there shall ye give [him] his inheritance, saith the Lord Jehovah.
